This location closed in late February. We had never eaten at Wasabi before, and I wanted to know the dress code; so I decided to call. I’m not highly familiar with the OneTable app, so I just Googled the number. Upon doing so, Google showed Wasabi as being permanently closed. Since I live fairly close to its location, I decided to drive there to see whether this was true, and it was. On a window by the entrance a sign was posted basically stating the establishment’s closure and that it was now located in Madison. I did call the Madison location, and the restaurant was able to accommodate us for that evening. In that sense, I will rate the Madison location as follows:

Overall. -
Service -*
Food -
Value -
Noise- Low

I’m not exactly sure why OneTable accepts reservations under this location, if the reservations made via OneTable were dispatched to the Madison location, or whether OneTable or Wasabi is to blame; but this is an issue that needs to be rectified for future customers.

However, just to be clear, we had an excellent experience overall. The customer service from both front of the house and back of the house employees is outstanding! Wasabi has an extensive and delicious menu, and although the restaurant has hibachi, it is not a presentation like many other hibachi/sushi bar restaurants. The ambiance also lost that swanky vibe I observed at the Downtown Jackson location while walking or driving past. However, I still recommend it for eating out, although it would not be a place I would consider romantic, trendy, or fancy.

The food was not seasoned. I requested for my steak to be prepared medium but it was well-done. The food was a bit pricey for the amount given.

Great sushi for downtown Jackson. Many great pieces with a few that were so so. Chef came out and chatted, which we appreciated. Great gal serving.

This was a first time visit and we enjoyed the food and our outdoor table. The crab wontons were a great appetizer and the whole party enjoyed our meals. We were somewhat surprised it wasn't busier, especially the outdoor tables on a beautiful evening. Definitely a good choice among the few restaurants available in downtown Jackson.
