We had our daughter's 16th birthday party with several of her friends on a Saturday night. Everything worked out great, the location, the seating area, the wait staff, and the food. Only complaint is the lack of parking on a busy Saturday evening.

server forgot to order our entree. let us hanging on a beer that never came and then charged us for it. Desert took forever! She presented the check and choose to highlight 20% Does your staff do that often? Try to trick your guest? wonder how many times she has gotten away with that! Maybe reevaluate your service and you would get 20% on your own without being Deceitful.

The sushi, rolls and sashimi are very good. Their other menu items are great and the curry is a must try. I’m not a fan of katso anything but it was done well. Good drink selection at the top of the price chart. BUT, a very good drink selection. Service is good and prompt. I return here often for their sushi. A good place to entertain.

Came here for my sister’s birthday, made a reservation since it was graduation weekend and were sat outside. They were busy, and we had a large party- but that’s truly no excuse for our food taking an hour and a half to come out to us. I had to go inside multiple times to ask where our server was, as well as get the status of our drink and food orders. The food was good, when it finally showed up- but not worth a 90min wait.

We were in Ames for our son’s college graduation and chose this restaurant because it was the only place on Open Table taking reservations and WOW! The food, the service, and ambience were wonderful and talk about VALUE. We were so pleasantly surprised by the bill that we had to check it and verify that it really was our bill. Maybe it’s the fact that we are used to Chicago prices, but we had the most delicious dinner for such a reasonable price. I highly recommend Wasabi in Ames!!!
