Great food and service, only one issue, music playing in bar and restaurant was different, so made it a bit noisy, maybe play one song in bar and restaurant?

There website had a set menu for Sundays however when we arrived we was told it was carvery which wasn't great to be honest, mushy veg and chewy meat. The staff plating your food were miserable and you have to push for bigger portions. Cost over £60 for 3 mains a 3 soft drinks, not great value for money and won't be returning unfortunately

We really enjoyed the carvery last Sunday. The staff were so friendly and welcoming .it was great to be acknowledged when we first walked in , this is so often lacking nowadays and made such a difference . Would definitely visit again when in area . Thank you all so much

Food was very average, two thin slices of meat only, far too much vegetables placed on plate. Would prefer to serve own vegetables. Stuffing balls were atrocious, no flavour very doughy. Overall, over priced for food served. Restaurant tired and grubby, cobwebs on blinds etc.

Probably the cost of living crisis affected the service. Even though we 4 were the only table in use at the time, the starter took a long time (tens of minutes) to arrive and there was a significant dalay (minutes) between the arrival of the first and last main dishes. When it came, the food and its presentation were good. Being so few in the restaurant affected the ambience, despite the pleasing decor. It also highlighted that the quiet background music in the bar and restaurant areas were unpleasntly different - though one was initially turned off on request.

There were no serviettes on our table. We were told they had run out. No orange juice. No beer only unhealthy lager. The steak detailed on your online booking page was not available. I declined an alternative steak at £35 as I didn’t wiish to buy shares in your company. In my opinion the drinks were very expensive. I had not realised that Earlls was originally The Chilworth Court Hotel where I spent my wedding night in 1972,So sad that the standards have dropped over the past 50 years.

Ambience pleasant & quiet, although the restaurant is somewhat tucked away within the hotel - no nice views to be hand. Service friendly & competent, but very slow - just as well we weren't in a hurry. Food was good, quite a varied menu - I thought a little overpriced, but not significantly out of kilter with the competition.

Disappointed. My partners roast chicken has 2 thin slices of turkey on the plate. The service was poor, had to wait to be seated. Minimal staff on duty. Restaurant only half filled and appeared to have only been half opened. Will not go again. Complained and got 15%of the bill.

Unfortunately there was only one member of staff to take orders, drinks, serve, clear away, take payment on Sunday 28th August. She tried her best but I saw 3 tables get up and leave due to the long wait times. I assume there was a staffing problem that was unforseen. I was disappointed the restaurant did not offer a traditional Carvery, but a plated carvery due to "covid". This was misleading and shouldn't be described as a carvery at all. That said, the mains were delicious.
