Excellent new restaurant in downtown Chicago. Top notch wine list at reasonable prices. Highly recommended, one of my favorite new finds
Great addition to the neighborhood.
Very nice atmosphere and a good menu with a variety of items. Great service. Will go back again.
I brought a friend who had never been. She loved it and remarked on how it was fairly priced. She also LOVED the “Designated Driver” mocktails on offer. The bacon is AMAZING. The only bummer were the clueless parents that somehow were able to ignore their screaming kid. Get a babysitter or go to the Original Pancake House. I love this place and will return.
We had a really nice time sitting at the bar. Great to have such a warm and welcoming spot to relax in the neighborhood, thank you
Way, way, way too loud. I had eaten here before and enjoyed the food immensely but absolutely could not carry on a conversation. So this time, I asked to sit in the furthest back room which would have been great except there was a table of eleven 30 something ladies---drinking. Need I say more? I give up on this place. Cacophony!!!!!
The food was very good and the service was Outstanding!!
I had the avocado/crab salad which was delicious and my guest had the marbled rye Ruben which she loved and we both shared her fries which were "the best ever".
we will both be coming back and trying something new in the near future!
My new favorite! For all the right reasons -- excellent food and drink, inviting ambience, east to get to with public transportation ( they DO have valet, also) Nice lounge space below....great to chat and wait for rest of party while enjoying a beverage.
The Prix Fixe menu is a great value with a variety of options.
Walton Street is a sophisticated but comfortable restaurant, with outstanding service and attention to detail. The staff and service is terrific. Our server, "Mies," was outstanding.
Always outstanding....food and service was exceptional.
My husband and I went for brunch on New Years Day and we were the first people to show up. This was our first time. Everyone was friendly and very accommodating. We both ordered the Walton continental which had eggs, bacon, and toast. Simple, but so so good. The coffee was great too. We sat at a table on the second floor overlooking tge streetview. We went at an off time so it was quiet and there was no one outside, but from what I know about Chicago and the location, I’m sure this would have been an even better spot and seat in the evening while watching the hustle and bustle of the city. :) Our waitress was funny and excellent. We would definitely return.
Brunch was delicious and the service was outstanding!
Great find! Wait staff was very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Food was great! We split a caesar salad that the kitchen split and chopped...the lettuce was cold and crisp! I ordered the trout, probably the best I've every had (a signature dish for the restaurant!) and my friend ordered the steak frites. While the fries were good, the steak was absolutely outstanding!! The sauce on top was a great taste with the steak. Desert was yummy, coffee was good, and the wine selection was very nice. My friend wasn't sure what she wanted, so the staff brought her three different wines to taste...great! Will be back for sure!!
Walton Street Cafe was very good for a winter morning brunch with my family. Fantastic service!
Great 2nd floor location in Gold Coast! Beautifully-done lounge, bar and dining rooms. Good friendly service, noteworthy during happy-hour crowd.
Very accommodating for quiet area table and all of us were members of the Clean Plate Club.
It was great. Best burger I’ve ever tasted. We’ll definitely be going back!
Always a great meal
We love this place, modern yet comfortable with a great bar. Delicious food always something new to try on the every changing menu. A neighborhood gem
Fast service, but a bit of attention to detail missing .. good food almost makes up for it.
I've been to Walton Street several times recently for business lunches and recently took my family for a Sunday brunch. The food was excellent across the board. Even more traditional dishes like omelettes and pancakes were exceptional. In addition, our server was friendly, attentive, and went out of his way to ensure we enjoyed our meal. We'll be back again soon!
Excellent service. Enjoyed family holiday dinner (7 of us) at great round table. Everyone raved about the food. I had the crab spaghetti. Others had pork chop, steak frites, burger.
Jolly atmosphere and superb food — such a well-designed menu it’s difficult to choose. The bar downstairs just may be the coziest in Chicago — couch s, books, roaring fire.
Nice specials and a solid main menu. My favorite is the trout.
Great Date Night Restaurant.
The food was outstanding. This is definitely a restaurant I plan on visiting again.
The salmon special was outstanding. Always have very good service too.
It was overpriced and the quality of the open wasn’t what we expected.
It’s a beautiful restaurant with a lovely mixed crowd. Everyone was very attentive and welcoming. Most of us enjoyed our dinner but my husband ordered the chicken and was very disappointed. It was supposed to be spit roasted. It was dry and over cooked and the vegetables were nearly raw. Basically inedible. We love the chicken at Gemini (sister restaurant) and expected this to be just as wonderful. Sadly, not even close.
Great food and service!
This was our 3rd visit to Walton St. in a short period of time. Each visit was terrific in all aspects.
The food was very good...mussels and steak frites were delicious. The bolognese was disappointing as it lacked flavor and had a mushy texture, but there are many other interesting choices on the menu. The wine list was nice and the service was outstanding- Mariah and Mike were helpful and accommodating. Will definitely return.
Great neighborhood eatery! The salad with salmon was excellent. This restaurant has a Cozy atmosphere and a great selection of menus items. Soups, salads and sandwiches-something for everyone.
Went for brunch. Service was excellent. Pastries were delicious. 2 of us got food was a tomato jam on it. I was expecting a savory chutney of some sort- but instead it was a sweet tomatoe sauce. It just did not go well with my breakfast sandwhich or my friend's burger.
The pancetta meatball starter was very tasty. The sides of broccolini gratinee and roast cauliflower were very good. The cast-iron trout meuniere was excellent - a truly exceptional dish. Nice wine selection. We were treated very well, though there seemed to be some confusion as to who our server was - at least two said that they were. Staff very attentive and friendly. We've already recommended it to friends.
We ate here last night and loved it! The space itself is gorgeous. There is a library lounge on the first floor. The second has a huge bar and very open dining room with comfortable seating. Our server, Darma, was very attentive and personable. Now let's get to the food. We highly recommend the chicken noodle soup, Rock shrimp, salmon tartare, Wagyu beef meatloaf, tuna with sushi rice, and crab spaghetti for the apps and main course. But dessert was the best! Apple toffee sundae, white chocolate cheesecake, and triple fudge cake. We eat out every Saturday night and love to try new places. This was a huge winner and we look forward to returning.
All of us had the trout which was an excellent preparation and presentation. Salad, arugula and chopped wedge, were quite good but typical preparation. Butterscotch creme boule and apple caramel desserts were truly yummy. Warm bread and butter with honey were outstanding and well worth indulging in. Service was very good. The one downside is the noise level which is painfully loud. However, there is a side room with only a few tables and a reasonable sound level. Also, if restaurant is busy, a line can form at the restrooms as there are only a few single user, unisex WCs.
We were a large group, and our server, Dharma, was absolutely spot on! She was terrific!
Everyone raved about their food. This is a great new addition to the neighborhood! Only negative...way too loud.
The restaurant, food and service was top notch. It was an amazing experience and great value. Everyone was super nice. Highly recommend.
