Walters Sports Bar
Walk on over to Walters and check us out!
We decided on dinner at this bar before the Nats game because it had several good reviews and is so close to the stadium. First off, we had a reservation but the hostess just told us we would either be shoved back in the corner or to go find a place at the bar. Secondly, we ordered the deviled eggs and Buffalo wings because they seemed to be so popular. BOTH were awful. The wings were slimey and barely cooked even though we said well done please. So I ordered a salad with ranch dressing after the awful wings, and it came out tossed in a vinaigrette... the food is terrible, but the location to the stadium is perfect, and the drinks were ok. Don’t go there hungry.
great place to wait out a potential rain delay and eat a meal. For a sports bar, though, the television show Bones featured on all the screens I could see from my seat!
awesome place to eat and/or drink before or after a nationals game….conveniently located directly across the street from the stadium. The food was awesome, great selections beers & reasonably priced, highly recommend!!
Walters is my favorite spot before and after Nationals games! The service is friendly, the drinks are plentiful, and the food is surprisingly good for a sports bar!
Funnel. Cake. Fries.
Great sports bar, wonderful location, great service and fantastic food! Indulge and get the steak frites with the duck fat fries! Wholy Cow!!!
The food was good, service quick and friendly. Overall a good place for a pre-Nats/DC United game dinner are drinks.
As always, the food and service were outstanding. The Walters burger is delicious but it is a LOT of food! I think I need to get a one patty burger next time. I was sad that they don't have Mango Cart on tap anymore, but their drink selection is vast and varied, so I was still able to find something I liked. The restaurant is definitely noisier now with people being able to congregate and watch a game together, but it wasn't too loud. I'll be back!
Great place to pre-game for baseball at Nats Park!
Best bar in navy yard
Great for pre Nats game. Glad we made reservations
Walters is the best. Great service, food and atmosphere.
Good food. Fun atmosphere
Nice place to go for a casual dinner before a game @ Nats Park. Food & service both great. Enjoyed the outside seating. Menu was not extensive, but good enough, and food tasted great.
First night out to see the Nats! It felt great to have a little bit of normalcy again. Service could have been a bit better given that there were only a few customers sitting inside, but it was okay. Great location and so convenient to the Park.
Great experience. Food took a little while to come out but overall it was a great place to visit. Their brunch menu wasn't listed on their website so was happy to see that was available when we arrived.
Staff was so much fun and made sure we had a great time!
We love Walter's! Great spot to grab a drink and food before (or during) a Nats game. Food and drinks are delicious and staff are friendly and attentive. There's a lot of options near the stadium these days but Walter's is definitely the best one.
Great All Around Service, Definitely the best bar in DC but the Asian Guy behind the bar is a A-Hole. He needs to be talked to. 💯
Server was extremely rude
Great bar for watching sports! They have an excellent outdoor set up and are doing things nice and safely for those who are ready to venture inside. The staff is so friendly and provides great service.
Enjoyed everything here, staff was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Great experience will be back.
Yummy jerk lamb Benedict with good sour beers. TVs everywhere if you want to watch sports while having brunch with friends.
Great service and great value for happy hour. Tables were well distanced outside. Staff were all masked up. The happy hour was really well priced. Would definitely go back again.
Service and atmosphere was good if you’re into sports bar. The only issue I had was my draft beer had some mildew like substance inside and I was still charged after being told it would be taken off the tab. Other than that, I would go back once baseball starts.
Great service-ate outside with my son to watch the spring training game on their flat screen. There was a self adjusted overhead heater and all was grr!
Best place in town for socially distanced outdoor football/baseball viewing. They have audio and stay open late for the games. Great service-fun crowd. Pet friendly patio.
Walters is way better than Mission next door. Do yourself a favor and go to Walters. Great ambience! Amazing staff! Always checking on you making sure you’re good! The outdoor was dope with the tv right there at our table 👌🏾! A++ Not to mention the the fact that my Spicy Chicken sandwich was BOMB! I’m at Mission right NOW writing this review. I won’t make this mistake again. See you soon Walters!
worst omelet ever, but everything else was great. Will def return for brunch, but will hold off on ordering an omelet.
Great experience, always love going to Walters. It is a local spot which embraces all things D.C.
Brandy was a dope server!
The "Bottomless Brunch" is a great deal and the food is awesome. The food is awesome and we will continue to return for that. We had a great experience the first time we went and sat at the bar; however, this last trip we were completely let down by the service at a table. Of note, the first time we went was during the first XFL game and it was packed! The bartenders, while swamped, still did their best and communicated that with all patrons.
The server did not check back to see how our food was, whether we wanted to order additional tapas, or if we wanted to refill our drinks. The server also charged one of the members of our party (of 4) for a refill on his coffee (it was nothing special, just drip coffee). We had to track her down anytime we wanted to order additional items. Another member of our party ordered the steak and eggs first and it took almost 40 minutes to get the plate. The server knew that it was going to take extra time and never asked if that person wanted to order something else in the meantime that would take less time.
While we were sitting there the bartenders noticed our drinks running low and our plates empty, but it was to no avail. We will definitely return because of our first experience sitting at the bar and the awesome food, but we will not opt to sit at a table again.
I’m sure this was an off day for Walters but we had a terrible food experience. We arrived at 12:30 (not realizing that Sunday brunch ends at 1:30). We ordered food no later than 12:45pm that still never arrived. Our server was great and kept bringing us drinks and trying to reassure us at the food would eventually arrive. Ultimately we received serval dishes that we hadn’t ordered, some we had ordered, and never received many. Overall we left drunk but hungry. The owner of the restaurant stopped by apologizing for the kitchen snaffu which honestly sounded like a legit reason for firing some of the kitchen staff, but still left us hungry and unsatisfied. Sooo I think Walters has some growing pains to work out. But if they keep the same servers and the owner is honest, then they stand a chance if they can get the kitchen in line.
Terrible! We went for the “all you can eat” brunch. We ordered 6 different plates after 2 hours we only had 2 items, 1 of which was wrong. The wings didn’t even come out. Then we were told they ran out of a lot of the food and the rest of the food we ordered ?!? There was not enough wait staff and many tables ended up leaving or complaining.
Did not honor our reservation, never gonna go back
My only issue was that I was not told about an extra charge of $2 since I got ice in my drink. If I would've gotten it 'neat', it would've been $9
Made a reservation, and the hostess did not have our table ready. We were forced to sit outside, as no other tables were available. The server took forever to get to our table. Beer was semi warm when it got to me. Menu was not very expansive. Since service was so slow, we only got fries and wings as we were trying to get to the game. For a sports bar, they seemed a ill prepared for the Saturday baseball game crowd, and the college football crowd. The staff in general was unhelpful and didn't seem to want to wait on any patrons. Most likely will not be going back.
Great place to watch World Cup final. They ran out of lots of food items, but maybe to be expected with the large crowd. Our server was extremely attentive despite how busy it was.
Our first trip to Walter's and we were pretty pleased. The food was pretty food and the service was excellent. It was crazy noisy, but it was before a DC United game, so that was to be expected. We would not hesitate to go back again.
