Walter's Restaurant was established in 1957, and is located in Claremont on Yale Avenue. When it first opened, it was a coffee shop serving hamburgers. In 1972, new owners transformed Walter's Restaurant into an eatery serving Afghan-themed foods. The restaurant's decor features unique photographs and items from local artists.Diners at Walter's Restaurant can choose breakfast, lunch or dinner, and they can visit the VIP lounge, which is open Thursday through Saturday from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. To eat in the dining area, reservations are required for parties of 15 or fewer. Groups larger than 15 people should consider catering options or the banquet facility.

Web site prices: corn salad, $7.95(actual price at W's, $10.00); Ahi with Basmati rice, $24.95 (actual price at W's, $38!). Service poor/ tile round table, bar tender waiter, as such. Had to ask for silverware/napkins/bread. Everyone's meal was poor. Very disappointing for special birthday dinner.

Unfortunately. The Afghan burger was too dry. There was too much bun. The Afghan fries were oily and soggy. The omelette was too dry and bland. The hash brown with the omelette was also. bland in taste and color. I have to remember not to return.

Our server was terrible. We were seated given water then sat there for over 10 minutes. Our server was at a table 2 away from us, never greeted us, never said I'll be right with you. I ended up asking the host who our waiter was as no one had been over to our table. He got the waiter he took our drink appetizer order, drinks took awhile, someone not our waiter finally brought them after someone had already dropped our appetizer. We finished our app and still hadn't seen our waiter again. We ordered our food from someone else, she was nice and helpful. This was our first time at Walter's, we loved the food, wish we wouldn't of had such a bad experience with service. I wish we could of left the tip for the people that actually took care of our table.
