The lobster roll is the best I’ve ever had!!
We went on a Sunday for brunch. Menu was good with lots of options. Our server was kind and attentive. We had Shakshuka and the butternut squash salad. Both were flavorful but both were sparse portions. The shakshuka, which normally is filled with vegetables and eggs to make it very hearty, was simply two eggs in tomato sauce with nothing else. The salad was side dish sized, and was mostly lettuce with a little bit of grains and five or six pieces of squash. I was looking forward to the La Colombe coffee, however, it was very watered down, and did not taste as my favorite coffee normally does. The ambience was lovely, and we really enjoyed the jazz trio. We would not go back - too much money to leave unsatisfied and a bit hungry.
The food was outstanding. The restaurant was comfortable and perfect for a visit to catch up with a good friend. Our waiter was very friendly and had good recommendations on the food
Very nice restaurant in university city. Great food, service and decor. However, the menu was a bit limiting

Veggie sandwich was not good. No description provided.
What a pleasant surprise. Food was great as was the service. Will definitely go back and recommend. The Cod was fantastic!

I was planning on ordering a very large amount of items from the full menu, however I was told that I was only limited to whatever was available on their fixed New Years menu and it was quite disappointing. You guys could’ve made much more if your menu wasn’t limited to a bunch of rather average dishes but I’m sure you had your reasons for doing so.
The server “Dee” was the best part 😁
Dear Anon, Thank you for taking time to leave us some kind words. We're very pleased you enjoyed Dee's service and your dining experience overall, and I have already shared your review with our entire staff. Please dine with us again in the future; we look forward to serving you. Cheers! Best, Matt S Office Admin
Fantastic all around. Great food and amazing service from server and management team!
We let our waitress know we were in a time crunch trying to get dinner in before a show at nearby World Cafe Live. They did a great job getting us in and out in time for the show, serving us great food in the process. Will definitely be back!
Dear Wino64, Thank you for taking the time to leave us some kind words and a nice rating. We strive for excellence and total accommodation at every step of service, so we are always pleased to read a review such as yours. We look forward to serving you again in the future. Cheers! Mom’s 60th birthday celebration.
Hello Anon, Thank you for the kind rating! We hope you found our service and atmosphere accommodating and cozy. I also hope the rating reflects Mom's stellar 60th Birthday celebration! Come see us again in the future. We look forward to serving you. Cheers, Matt S Office Admin
Delicious food, tad on the pricey side but good nonetheless.
Service was lacking, food and drinks took way too long to come out. Waiter forgot my drink order and it never came out. By the time the waiter came back it was when the food was dropped off.
Food was delicious though.
Dinner out with my son and girlfriend before we went to a show at the world cafe live. Great choice! Waiter was very nice, polite, very knowledgeable about the menu and helpful with suggestions. Cocktails were delightful and the wine list was extensive. The hangar steak was delicious, my son’s chicken roulade was exquisite (a special) and his girlfriend’s lobster ravioli was “fire” (her words). Happy we went and not overly expensive. Would definitely recommend.
Loved the menu and the attentive service! Food was fabulous and everyone enjoyed themselves!
We were very disappointed. The food was no more than diner quality at a much inflated price. Our server was not attentive and we felt like we were doing him a favor by being there. We won’t return.
Dear KimB, We're sorry to read you had a poor dining experience with us, but we do appreciate you leaving feedback. What you've described above I can assure you are not the standards to which we hold ourselves, and I hope you can see the experience as an anomaly, and give us another try. I've gone over the details of your review with our staff and we all must, and will, work more diligently in the future to avoid further missteps like these. Best, Matt S Office Administrator
Perfect blend of delicious food and outstanding ambience
The portions were small for the prices. Service was slow. The egg in my eggs benedict were one step shy of raw. We were warned upon entering that they were having a fruit fly issue, but we chose to stay. Fruit flies were not an issue until about 3/4 of the way through our meal. Fortunately I had finished my meal (since there wasn’t much to it). We were promised a $50 GC in return for the issues, but we will see if we ever get that. I will not go back when I am back in town visiting my college son, but hopefully he and his girlfriend can enjoy a nice dinner with the $50 GC.
Had brunch here with some friends and was quite disappointed with the entire experience. They were "sold out" of many things including the burger and eggs benedict. Not sure how that even happens one hour into brunch service. Our drinks came at least 20 minutes after we ordered them and we were never offered refills on our coffee during the two hours we were at the table. Our food took an amazingly long time to arrive and and was room temperature when we did finally get it. I was offered hot sauce which never materialized and on top of all of this, there were fruit flies everywhere, jumping into coffee cups and landing on our water glasses. I expected a lot more from this place. The decor and live music were lovely, but those things don't make up for the major problems they have.
Dear TraceyL, We'd first like to thank you for reaching out, for its feedback like yours that keeps our operation at its best. Secondly, we'd like to sincerely apologize for the fruit flies. We isolated the cause as a result of new plants we installed in the restaurant and have since removed. We've been battling them for over a week and are now fully confident the issue has been resolved. If you'd like to give us another chance, we'll ensure we exceed your expectations. Sincerely, Matt S
Service for Sunday brunch was truly horrible. Long wait time to place our order. Long wait time to receive cream for the coffee sitting on my table. Server brought out two entrees, and the third entree at least five minutes later.
Also the amount of gnats flying around and landing in food and beverages was quite offputting.
We had the fixed price dinner option. Very good quality and pricing. My cod was perfectly cooked. Would return.
Service was spectacular!
Music was at a level that we could have a conversation without having to loud ourselves.
Food as always delicious.

I love this place. Can’t say my salad was amazing but my house made soda and pastry were great for lunch. It’s a great, swanky ambiance with great service, so I’ll definitely be back. Every other meal I’ve had has been wonderful.
Great atmosphere for brunch with any group and for any occasion.

We were seated at a table by the front door that had a terrible draft from the first day of freezing weather. we had to asked to be reseated - at these prices, no one should be sat there. We barely saw our waiter and had to ask other passing-by staff to order both dinner and dessert. When we saw the waiter, he smelled from cigarettes. one entree was delicious and perfect but the other wasn't cooked as ordered and potatoes were cold. Again, we have much higher expectations for a restaurant at this price point.
This is a really beautiful, modern, but cozy place with floor to ceiling windows so it’s nice and bright. Even the bathrooms are clean and welcoming. Hostess and server were both attentive and warm, and the food came out pretty quickly. I’d say my meal was okay to good. Eggs Benedict was alright, the cinnamon roll was okay, too. Wasn’t blown away but will try again, as overall I had a really nice time. :)
First time in the Walnut St Café. Food was good and so was the service. We were there for lunch. I thought it was a bit pricey for lunch. Overall, it was a good experience and I would return.
had a very good lunch with my grandson to be. The lobster roll was filled with lobster meat and was delicious and Fran loved his hamburger.
Dear Judie, Thank you for the kind feedback! We strive to keep our menu and atmosphere fresh and fun and are thrilled to read that you and your grandson enjoyed your dining experience with us. We look forward to serving you again in the future. Best, Matt Office Administrator
Great brunch menu - standards and a few non-typical options. Bright and sunny interior with modern and simple decor. Live Jazz on Sundays. Attentive service.
Mediocre food, indifferent service, out of several menu items. Nice location and decor, though.
excellent as always! Top quality meats, pasta, and salads. Try the Porterhouse for 2 with shallots and bordelaise! Great drinks, service and food. Dined many times and keep coming back.
The dining room is lovely and filled with natural light. The staff is friendly and attentive. I really enjoyed the butternut squash soup and appreciate that the kitchen accommodated our small request. However, I was disappointed that their online menu didn’t reflect their current selections and that they did not offer any hot sandwiches to replace their seasonal paninis. Overalls, it was a lovely lunch.
Excellent brunch menu and atmosphere. I especially loved the live jazz music for Sunday brunch.
Great experience as always!
Live music was good, but too loud for daytime dining.
Great. Very nice dinner with terrific service. Fun night. Great food !!

Probably not. The restaurant is very pretty and a jazz combo was playing making for a nice atmosphere. Our food arrived promptly (my eggs benedict with ham was room temperature) , but we waited 10 minutes, yes 10 minutes, for our coffee. Then we NEVER saw our waiter again until he dropped the check. I did manage to get another cup of coffee from the very nice hostess who was cleaning tables, pouring water, etc. It seemed like the wait staff was overworked. But still, we paid $50 for two breakfasts and a few cups of coffee and espresso. No alcohol.
Dear sphillyfoodie, Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback following your recent visit with us. We apologize that service fell short of your expectations and our standards, and we will address this issue with the entire team. We take your dissatisfaction very seriously and understand we must work more determinedly toward excellence. We're glad you enjoyed the atmosphere, and we hope you'll be back so we may meet and exceed your expectations. Best, Matt Office Administrator
I just love this place. It's airy, I've never had a bad meal or cocktail and the service friendly and efficient. I also love that I can go to the rooftop bar before or after.
The farro salad was perfect, I devoured the cheese plate and tasted a delicious mushroom tortellini off my partner's plate. My friends got engaged that night and the restaurant gave us complimentary drinks and dessert. Very considerate. I don't dine out often since I always think I can cook whatever they've made better. But I do back to this place. It's reliably a worthwhile experience each time.
The service was very slow, no sense of urgency in the staff.
great environment and great food. Loved the live music
