Beautiful hotel and restaurant
Elk and scallops were awesome
Great meal and service from knowledgeable server Laurra. Will return.
Good wine list, great food, outstanding service!
Went for the new brunch menu and our first experience with the walnut room. Amazing atmosphere and outstanding food.
Date with the wife. Restaurant was beautiful. Service was excellent. Appetizers were well presented and tasted good. She had the stuffed trout and I had the swordfish as a main course. Presentation was nice and cook on both was good. We had the creme brûlée for desert and enjoyed the variety of flavors. Food was good, service was great. We will go again
We had a table of 6 for New Year’s Eve. The food was very good. The service was spectacular. We all had a great time.
We had dinner on NYE. Menu was preset. It was delicious but too much. Would’ve preferred to order from main menu. Very pricey
Excellent place to dine Entertained relatives from Seattle who were very pleased with the meal
My first time there, and I plan to return. Great time starting out with an adult beverage at Poke the Bear. Food was excellent and service great.
Part of our holiday dining this month. The service was great and the food was delicious. Understated elegance is how I would describe the ambiance.
The Walnut Room is a lovely venue. The service was excellent; I arrived quite early for my reservation and they seated me right away. The food was stellar! I had to slow down eating in order to savor every bite. I wouldn’t call this a value menu. It’s a fine dining menu. If you want value, go to McDonald’s. If you want fine dining, come here.
I ordered eggs over medium my eggs were over easy. The hashbrowns were as if they were freezer burned there were only a few hashbrowns overwhelmed with onion and hard bits of I don’t know what that I had to spit out. My daughter had eggs Benedict she said they were OK not very much hollandaise sauce. The coffee was terrible even though I like strong coffee this coffee was over the top straw I couldn’t even drink it. We had my five-year-old granddaughter with us and there was no children menu. They weren’t very busy and the service was very slow. I did not complain because I did not want to have to wait any longer for our food. The waiter bragged about the sticky buns so we ordered one and I swear it was left over from The day before. I have been in the restaurant business I know I should’ve complained but we didn’t have the time to sit and wait after all it was Christmas Eve and we had other things to do. I will not be back.
The Walnut Room was wonderful. The room itself was tad bit noisy for my taste, but we also had a very loud party behind us. The service was amazing. We had Laura, who was a delight, and gave us some great recommendations including the Elk Loin. This was the first quality fine dining experience we have had in Green Bay. Our food was more than perfect, it was an entire experience and the spinach salad was the best salad I have ever had in my life. We also enjoyed the calamari appetizer, French onion soup, duck and waffle entree and the chocolate hazelnut cake. It was all spectacular.
The food and service was excellent!! I will be back!
Room decor and concept is elegant. Service attentive except bar tender was off putting. Food choices good but not the "wow" factor given the pricing. Each plate should be perfect and 2/4 entrees not. Steak was rare with cold center when ordered medium and roasted chicken tender but no sauce (or forgotten) with vegetables cold. Lots of high end competition in the area so hopefully it was just an off night for the chef.
Waited over 20 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. I was surprised when the dining room wasn't full, with a wait that long I expected every table to be full. Took another 15-20 min for our server to take out drink order, repeat for dinner order. This was a Saturday night reservation made weeks in advance. Were they significantly understaffed, on a Saturday, the night before a home Packers game? GM was very nice, as was our server. Food was good very good, interesting menu options. Kinks to work out before I'd go back.
First time dining here and we enjoyed the atmosphere although it was a bit loud. Our server was attentive and the food was exceptionally delicious. I had the Roasted Elk Loin and my wife the Petite Filet Mignon. We both enjoyed every bite. Will definitely return.
Fantastic dinner and wonderful service, especially by their bar staff. The scallops were delicious.
I love the character of the building. The ambiance is so charming. The food is wonderful. I love how the menu is set up. You choose an entree which has a vegetable, but you can order other sides as well. As a bonus, they surprised us with free hors d'oeuvres between our courses!
The service was excellent. The ambiance was very good, but not excellent. For what I would expect for a high-end restaurant, the dining room seemed a little plain and the food, while excellent, could have been more inventive. I would dine there again. I did appreciate the fact that it was not noisy. Unlike some restaurants in Green Bay, we could actually hear each other speaking.
Enjoyed a birthday dinner at the Walnut Room
Everything was perfect. We felt like we were dining at a fancy restaurant in Chicago!! Definitely have shared the joy and will return
I would recommend the Walnut Room....but the chef needs to know that Swordfish should be served moist. The last couple bites of my swordfish were so dry, it couldn't be eaten.
And for me, when food isn't perfectly cooked, the price tag shouldn't be $31.00.
The Caesar is not worth $8.00. Very small with hardly any lettuce. I'm not sure what happened to The Walnut Room,....when it first opened, I never had a bad meal and the caesar was much better.
The ambiance is wonderful and it's worthy to be seen.
The bartender, maitre d ,and waitress were all exceptional people. They made sure everything was right and didn't hesitate to go beyond. We got Laurra for the second time and she was just as lovely.
Our waitress made the unique location an exceptional experience.
For our anniversary we dined at the Walnut Room for the first time - it was outstanding in every way. I loved the elk, and my bride loved her filet. They even gave us a complimentary dessert to share for our big day!
Excellent place - the food was outstanding, service the way it is supposed to be. Expensive, but worth it. probably the best dining experience we have had in Green Bay
Thank you Cynthia! We're glad you enjoyed your dining experience. We hope to see you again.
My wife and I visited here on October 25th, 2019.
What an excellent experience! We were able to enjoy an appetizer, soup and/or salad, entree and a dessert and didn't have to take anything home with us. The proportions were just right. Just what I would have expected from an upscale restaurant.
The noise level was great. We were able to have conversation without overhearing other tables' conversations or overhead noise. The acoustics were very good. It wasn't very busy when we visited, but I don't think that would have been a factor if it were busier as the tables are set apart from each other.
The other nice thing is that the menu is presented to you on an ipad, so you get to see and choose the drinks and entrees with the description, visual image and drink pairings.
Laura our waitress was wonderful!
The price point for drinks and food was right on par with a restaurant of this caliber.
We will definitely be visiting again.
Thank you Christopher! We're glad you enjoyed your dinner at The Walnut Room. I'm make sure to pass along your comments to the staff as well. Cheers! Dennis
Had really high hopes as the building and interior are amazing. Beautiful menu, really great drinks, but poorly executed. Our waitress didn’t know the menu, the food was at best OK. The drinks however (especially the traditional old fashioned) were amazing. Not on target from a value perspective- no problem paying 35-50 for an entree, but it needed to be on point for that price point.
Time to receive wine, and also meal parts very slow and waitress seemed overwhelmed. Split bill was misunderstood twice.
Food was very good but not worth the service mishaps
Best restaurant in Green Bay! Amazing food and service.
Laura is the best! Love every recommendation she gives us and she has the best personality.
Went for breakfast on Sunday. It was a very nice experience from the greeting to seating to food service. The food was prepared as we wanted and was very good. We enjoyed the experience and will definitely go again.
First time at the Northland. Waitress was very good, made navigating menu easy. We appreciated her ideas as to drinks and she had a good personality and we laughed a lot. Food was tasty.
The restaurant atmosphere is wonderful and the renovated hotel is beautiful! We made reservations for our 25th wedding anniversary and were glad we did.
The salmon and the wasabi mashed potatoes were fabulous. My husband had the pork chop and gouda mashed potatoes - we were very pleased with both entrees!
They did a great job with the decor and the service was fantastic. We will definitely recommend The Walnut Room to friends and family!
Thank you Lori! We're glad you choose The Walnut Room for your special celebration. Congratulations on your 25th Anniversary!
My steak was one of the best I have ever had - would definitely recommend the Walnut Room
Thank you Mark! I've forwarded your comments to our talented culinary team. They always appreciate the shout out.
Very nice place. Service was very good but understaffed. Waiter had to serve and bus tables. If the want to be the glamour spot in town, they need to have top notch service.
This is the best restaurant in Green Bay. Scallops , chili lime Brussels sprouts and Filet were excellent.
Loved our waitress. Wonderful experience
We were quite pleased with our meal at the Walnut Room. The space is attractive and relatively quiet. The menu is very interesting and the food quality was excellent. The wine list is mid-sized but the quality of the available wines was very good. The staff was very friendly, helpful and pleasant. We highly recommend dining at the Walnut Room.
Very friendly staff chef gave us several complimentary dishes, and the smoked cocktails were excellent. Would recommend for anyone visiting the GB area for a nice dinner.
It is everything you would expect from a restaurant in a classic vintage hotel. It was all good from our server Guy to our desert, strawberry tart. It is expensive but the experience plus the food is worth it. The digital menus are great, we liked the beer and wine lists and the pictures of the food on the digital menus helped with the decisions. The only downside is the chairs, they are too short. My wife is 5' and she definitely needed a booster set.
