Our waitress made the unique location an exceptional experience.
For our anniversary we dined at the Walnut Room for the first time - it was outstanding in every way. I loved the elk, and my bride loved her filet. They even gave us a complimentary dessert to share for our big day!
Excellent place - the food was outstanding, service the way it is supposed to be. Expensive, but worth it. probably the best dining experience we have had in Green Bay
Thank you Cynthia! We're glad you enjoyed your dining experience. We hope to see you again.
My wife and I visited here on October 25th, 2019.
What an excellent experience! We were able to enjoy an appetizer, soup and/or salad, entree and a dessert and didn't have to take anything home with us. The proportions were just right. Just what I would have expected from an upscale restaurant.
The noise level was great. We were able to have conversation without overhearing other tables' conversations or overhead noise. The acoustics were very good. It wasn't very busy when we visited, but I don't think that would have been a factor if it were busier as the tables are set apart from each other.
The other nice thing is that the menu is presented to you on an ipad, so you get to see and choose the drinks and entrees with the description, visual image and drink pairings.
Laura our waitress was wonderful!
The price point for drinks and food was right on par with a restaurant of this caliber.
We will definitely be visiting again.
Thank you Christopher! We're glad you enjoyed your dinner at The Walnut Room. I'm make sure to pass along your comments to the staff as well. Cheers! Dennis
Had really high hopes as the building and interior are amazing. Beautiful menu, really great drinks, but poorly executed. Our waitress didn’t know the menu, the food was at best OK. The drinks however (especially the traditional old fashioned) were amazing. Not on target from a value perspective- no problem paying 35-50 for an entree, but it needed to be on point for that price point.
Time to receive wine, and also meal parts very slow and waitress seemed overwhelmed. Split bill was misunderstood twice.
Food was very good but not worth the service mishaps
Best restaurant in Green Bay! Amazing food and service.
Laura is the best! Love every recommendation she gives us and she has the best personality.
Went for breakfast on Sunday. It was a very nice experience from the greeting to seating to food service. The food was prepared as we wanted and was very good. We enjoyed the experience and will definitely go again.
First time at the Northland. Waitress was very good, made navigating menu easy. We appreciated her ideas as to drinks and she had a good personality and we laughed a lot. Food was tasty.
The restaurant atmosphere is wonderful and the renovated hotel is beautiful! We made reservations for our 25th wedding anniversary and were glad we did.
The salmon and the wasabi mashed potatoes were fabulous. My husband had the pork chop and gouda mashed potatoes - we were very pleased with both entrees!
They did a great job with the decor and the service was fantastic. We will definitely recommend The Walnut Room to friends and family!
Thank you Lori! We're glad you choose The Walnut Room for your special celebration. Congratulations on your 25th Anniversary!
My steak was one of the best I have ever had - would definitely recommend the Walnut Room
Thank you Mark! I've forwarded your comments to our talented culinary team. They always appreciate the shout out.
Very nice place. Service was very good but understaffed. Waiter had to serve and bus tables. If the want to be the glamour spot in town, they need to have top notch service.
This is the best restaurant in Green Bay. Scallops , chili lime Brussels sprouts and Filet were excellent.
Loved our waitress. Wonderful experience
We were quite pleased with our meal at the Walnut Room. The space is attractive and relatively quiet. The menu is very interesting and the food quality was excellent. The wine list is mid-sized but the quality of the available wines was very good. The staff was very friendly, helpful and pleasant. We highly recommend dining at the Walnut Room.
Very friendly staff chef gave us several complimentary dishes, and the smoked cocktails were excellent. Would recommend for anyone visiting the GB area for a nice dinner.
It is everything you would expect from a restaurant in a classic vintage hotel. It was all good from our server Guy to our desert, strawberry tart. It is expensive but the experience plus the food is worth it. The digital menus are great, we liked the beer and wine lists and the pictures of the food on the digital menus helped with the decisions. The only downside is the chairs, they are too short. My wife is 5' and she definitely needed a booster set.
The staff was friendly and attentive! The food was quite good and no doubt will continue to improve as they compete with other high-end restaurants. The setting was very nice!
took 2 hours to eat when maybe 10% of the tables were occupied. Waited 20 minutes for our first drink, waited another 20 minutes for the second drink after we asked twice for them, water glass sat empty for almost an hour. Very perplexed by the whole experience. On a positive note the food was delicious and the building looked amazing inside
Excellent stuffed rainbow trout. Service and atmosphere were awesome.
Overpriced. Entrees were not as described on menu and were just Ok. Very small servings. The biscuits were so small they could be served at a “Barbie” tea party. Hotel as a whole is lovely.
The food and drink choices were wonderful and everything tasted great. The service was wonderful. Just the air conditioning was too high - I was "freezing".
We were there for Grandma's 95th birthday as she hadn't been to the hotel since Christmas of 1959 staff made it a great experience for Grandma thank you
The Walnut room has great potential but is not yet ready for prime time. The service was slow and they forgot our appetizer. The food was ok but not memorable.
The bar area was extremely noisy making it hard to have a pleasant conversation.
Our party of four had a marvelous time Tuesday evening in the Walnut Room. This was our second visit in one month for three of us. We like to sample each other's food and found all of the selections full of flavor, delicious and expertly prepared. Our waitress, Laura, was attentive, friendly and impressed us with her recollections of serving us during our first visit. The Walnut Room is absolutely our favorite restaurant in the Brown and Door counties area.
The Ribeye was the best I’ve had. Juicy, tender, deliciously prepared. Truly delicious
Great food and service! We were there on a Thursday night of a Packers game so not very busy.
Was the best meal we had on holiday, better then the Grand on Mackinac Island.
The hotel was also fabulous, typical of European AC hotels.
Delightful retro entertainment. Delicious food and amazing service.
Excellent! Great variety on the menu, wonderful wine list, overall great dinner and service!! Will definitely be back!
My wife and I have been here twice and both times really enjoyed it. The food is excellent and we really like the nostalgia of the hotel and restaurant. The decor is great. Looking forward to returning for another great dining experience.
Excellent dining experience - superb service!
Had dinner here many evenings. Thursday night it was disappointing. Service was slow( our server was good but kitchen must have been understaffed), main plates were not good. Way too much AC. Freezing cold. Will go back but this time was not very good. Bartender was excellent. Drinks good.
Hotel Northland is a new jewel in Green Bay dining. We would put it up against any 5-star restaurant on either coast. Well done!!
Our party made a reservation for the Walnut Room for restaurant week. We were seated promptly. Our waitress was very attentive with just the right amount of friendly interation. We sampled each other's dinner selections and each was outstanding. Even those of us, who do not usually order calamari, pronounced it superb! The prices on the regular menu are comparable to similar area restaurants. The restaurant itself is exquisite and the ambiance is luxurious. We decided, "Why go anywhere else?"
Ate here during restaurant week, my wife and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The food was great, was a great date night.
Our first visit, so glad that The Walnut Room participated in Restaurant Week! Definitely will be visiting again in the near future.
The food was excellent, especially the calamari. Eric, our server was very sincere, kind and attentive :)
We did Restaurant Week. Excellent menu and good quality food. The waitstaff was top-notch and the facilities are very nice. It's a great place to go in Green Bay when you want a higher-end restaurant.
My first time there and was a great experience, had a delicious meal and amazing service. Will recommend to others!
