Walnut Grill - Wexford Ratings and Reviews
Very disappointing visit to Walnut Grill.
No one’s meals came at the same time. Flatbread was soggy and salad components were not fresh (brown lettuce, barely pink tomatoes).
We made it clear to the server that we were there to take our time and visit. After our meals we declined dessert, but were drinking coffee, tea and water. We were immediately given our checks and never saw the server again. No offer of water or anything. The restaurant was not busy at that time either.
As usual, our drinks and meals were excellent. We love the people that work at Walnut. From the time I walk in there everyone talks to me. I love the Atmosphere. Aaron waited on us, he is so very polite and friendly, he also makes the best drinks. Thank you Walnut Grill and Aaron. Your friend, Bonnie
My dinner experience was just ok. Service was friendly, but not experienced. My pork medallions were way over seasoned and disappointing. However, my son loved the chicken dish. Overall, it wasn't expensive and everything was ok, but not looking to return for dinner. Better happy hour spot.
We went to Walnut Grill on Saturday evening. We sat outside and it was perfect, as always.
Walnut Grill has become my go to favorite. I bring my friends and they love it too. Sarah was our server on Saturday night, and she was wonderful, very sweet and attentive . Our meal was perfect, as always. Love Walnut Grill. I love Open Table, they are the best.
I am at Walnut Grill at least once a week, sometimes twice a week. We sat outside om Saturday night, and it was beautiful. We loved our food and drinks. I really can't say enough about how much I love going to Walnut Grill. Everyone that works there is so positive and upbeat. Ross was our server and he was very nice and polite and gave us great service. Thanks again Walnut Grill.
I was meeting a new friend and was looking for a relaxing and unrushed dining experience. Our server appreciated that and was attentive to our needs but did not disturb our conversation. The Manager offered us a special dessert on the house.
Overall It was a very pleasant evening.
Business meeting over breakfast. A fly hounded our table the whole breakfast and when we brought it to the waiter's attention he pretty much shrugged his shoulders and said they keep the doors open to the patio and it is what it is. Not a real acknowledgement or apology for the situation and my client was none too happy.
Also not a fan of the rock music playing at 9am. With Pandora there are so many options for restaurants today...why loud rock music?
The Staff, Manger, Cooks, Executive Chef and Owner are just awesome people. They came around and made sure we were taken care of thru out the night. They just didn't check on our table thru out the night, I noticed the mangers and owner was going around to other tables also. I think that means a lot, making sure your evening is going well, especially if you are celebrating a special occasion!
We went for a date night. My husband loved his smoked old fashion (great ice cube) and I had strawberry mohito. Yummy ... great veggie grain bowl and walnut pear salad. Staff was really great. (Work well together). Especially Mary our server. Fun atmosphere. We will be back!
I am a regular at Walnut Grill, and love it. I have lunch with friends, and also dinner. I have friends, that I told to go there, go there regularly now. You cannot beat the top of the line service, friendliness , and great food and cocktails. Thank you Walnut Grill, see you next week.
Let me 1st state food was excellent. Has the filet, very good! However, we were sat in a table so small I felt like I was in a preschool desk. Also, people to the left and right of us, only separated by 1ft... Don't say anything you don't want your neighbors to hear! So, that was uncomfortable! Other than that it was good. Server was super nice and capable!
The Walnut Grill is a place to go for dinner or to hang out and have a few drinks with friends. I took my girlfriend there for our anniversary dinner and our waitress, Lori was phenomenal. She took great care of us and made suggestions on what to order. At the end of our meal, she brought us out a very tasty dessert on the house for our anniversary. Food was excellent and wine selection local and had something for every taste. I will definitely go back.
I was visiting a friend who lives in the area and recommended walnut grill. The food is unbelievably delicious. Loved the appetizer Brussels sprouts with Gorgonzola, walnut dust, and balsamic and loved the rice bowl with veggies and egg. Service staff was very friendly however our order got lost somewhere in the kitchen shift change process and we waited 45 minutes for our dinners. They were very nice about the issue and offered some concessions. However, that kind of thing should not happen if the wait staff is paying attention to the customer and the order. I still highly recommend the restaurant and would eat there again if my travels take me there.
Food was delicious! Wait staff attentive, friendly, helpful. It was my birthday. Assistant manager came over, welcoming, friendly, gave us a complementary dessert in addition to my free entrée with a birthday coupon! All four of us order different entrees and we all loved our meals.
Took my wife there for her birthday as she was interested in trying their Sunday brunch. The omelet bar and prime rib were good, but the rest of the brunch food was average at best and not a large variety. Server was slow to non-existent; never came back around to see if we needed drink refills until we finally gave up and were ready to leave. For a few extra $, I would just drive to Grand Concourse downtown and have one of the best brunches in town. Our recent experience at Walnut Grill has put me off to trying it for any meal in the near future.
We usually love Walnut Grill, it's one of our favorite restaurants. This is the first time we have eaten in since the menu changes and the remodeling. We missed the intimacy and privacy the large booths provided. It looked so different and not in a good way. We ordered the cheese and fruit plate, always a favorite. Instead of pastry baked brie, slices of different cheeses, pears, a few grapes, walnuts, humus, honey and crackers...it was mostly grapes (some spoiled), four tiny triangles of cheese, dried cranberries, a couple walnuts and four crackers with hummus. The sides are now very limited as well and the menu has been scaled back considerably. The service tonight was very slow as well. Overall, one of our worst experiences at Walnut Grill. Not sure we will go back with Stack'd Burgers, Off the Hook and other restaurants nearby. Not sure why they had to change a good thing!
