Walnut Grill - Wexford
Went for my birthday. Restaurant was very crowded due to half price wine and several private parties so noise level was high. Had reservation and we were seated immediately, no waiting at all. Our server was pleasant, helpful and had a wonderful personality; she was not frazzled at all with how busy it was. All of our meals were excellent....crab cakes, salmon, pasta, steak. My friends told our server it was my birthday and she brought out an ice cream toffee ball with candles. It was a wonderful evening all around. Thank you walnut grill!
Didnt appreciate the bait and switch tactics by waitress. Happy hour stated $4 Tito's but was charged $6.95. Also menu stated that you could add on a soup or salad with entree for $4. But was charged $6.75 for each soup. Very disappointing with the answer received from waitress. Said you must tell them to eliminate a side to get the $4 add on. I was also told that if you get your coctail on the rocks instead of adding a soda with it that it becomes $6.75. Too bad they feel they need to con there loyal customers.
Went to Walnut Grill for the Thanksgiving buffet and was not pleased. They ran out of dishes when we went up to get our food. At one point, the turkey was gone and they had to be told about it. This also happened with the salad dressing and pumpkin pie. The stuffing tasted like Stove Top. Someone should have been making certain everything was available at all times. The meal was over priced for the quality of the food. My family will never eat there again due to the poor experience.
I would not recommend Walnut Grill for their Thanksgiving Buffet. While the food choices were varied and sounded great, the food itself was cold even after sitting in the chafing dish. Certain foods were refilled slowly like the mashed potatoes and the prime rib. The food that was available wasn't even barely warm. For $28.95 each, we could have had a sit down dinner elsewhere where our food could have been sent back if it was served cold. I have eaten here before and enjoyed my meal, but this outing was a disaster.
the food was great and our waitress was fantastic forgot her name though. Will be there next Thanksgiving too.
Delicious, cordial, convenient. Only complaint is a little messy probably due to a few careless patrons.
Really enjoyed our thanksgiving meal here. Seated promptly and food was good! My only complaint was the desserts weren’t all that great but the main meal was perfectly prepared and our server Mary took great care of us! We plan to go back next year !
Our server Mary was the best part of the evening and the walnut ball dessert. Our food was so disappointing but our server was so on point and sweet and got a table of the book club ladies with all waters, we didn’t want to cause any more stress. Our French onion was incredibly salty which means it was cooking all day. My moms flounder was bland and zero flavor. And my fish tacos were just ok. Really disappointed this time around accept for our amazing server. She was the sweetest of them all. Don’t lose her.
didn't care for the french onion soup, it tasted super sweet. but the rest of the items were good.
Excellent cheese plate
Brunch food was okay, nothing special. Service was slow. Lots of drama happening among staff - we hate that. Keep it in the back of the house, folks. Were told mimosas were$4, got charged $5. Will not return anytime soon. Much better choices in immediate area.
We love coming to Walnut Grill. The food is very good and so is the service, and atmosphere. We are there almost every week. Thank you Walnut
We had previously experienced slow kitchen at Sunday brunch; glad we gave it another try because this time it was just fine!
. The food, atmosphere and service were excellent. We love having meals at Walnut Grill.
Bar reservation was not accommodated
Great service by Kelsey
The place was very noisy. They really need something to absorb sound. We almost left before ordering due to the noise. Our waiter and the entire waitstaff did a very nice job. I didn't like the fact that had live entertainment on a Wednesday evening. That's just my personal opinion. The food was good, not great but good. We got the "loaded" tater tots and they were not what I expected. I expected cheese and chili, but they had some kinda hard/dried bacon chunks and some kind of white sauce. I guess they "ok" but again, not what I was expecting. The noise was the biggest drawback. It did quiet down "a bit" after some people left but still way too loud for my taste
Outside venue is great. Seasons drinks were amazing. A long wait for our food and service was not so great
The server had an attitude and when we acquired when our meal would arrive, the server grumbled about how slow the kitchen was. Oddly enough, other tables who arrived after us received their meals promptly. When our meals arrived, the server said he’d do something since we were kept waiting so long.
I started to eat the salad with salmon but the salmon was too undercooked. I ate the salad since the server was nowhere around. Another person in the group felt badly because we were there to celebrate my birthday and it was my meal that was bad.
After another server went to find ours, our server eventually made it to our table. He asked if I wanted them to reheat the salmon. Fed up, I just asked not to be charged for the salad. The server didn’t even apologize.
I don’t understand- WG used to have great service and great food. This is the 3rd time I’ve been here in the past year and the 2nd time the food and service has been subpar. I’m beginning to wonder how long you’ll be in business.
Food and service were good. The amount of customers was very low, to the point that everyone could my groups conversation. Felt like no privacy.
Food was very good and filling. Our server, Hillary, was very attentive. All in all, a really nice time!
Service was slow. Once we had a server, it was Ok. He had too many tables. Nice guy and friendly. Tortilla Soup was good. Pittsburgh Salad was fair. I had steak added which was good. It needed some more fries. Flatbread was good. The place was packed and the beer selection was good.
Server was excellent but kitchen was unbelievably slow especially considering the dining room was not full. We waited a really long time for food (brunch) that doesn’t take long to prepare. Would definitely have walked out except that we had a gift card we were trying to use.
It was great. The menu has a variety of choices. We will definitely go back and recommend it to friends and family.
Loved our waitress, Melanie. Love the patio. It's a shame it has to be next to the highway.
We had dinner here on a holiday weekend with family who were visiting from out of town and it was wonderful. We sat on the covered porch which had a nice breeze. Dinner was wonderful and we didn't feel rushed.
Worst experience I have had at a restaurant in a very long time. It took an hour for breakfast to come out after ordering, and after waiting the food was disappointing. Pancakes were especially terrible tasting like rancid oil. Waitress never refilled waters, checked on us infrequently, and didn't offer a manger or even say anything when we were sending the plates back almost untouched.
Went for Sunday brunch. Waited over half hour for food order. Eggs Benedict lacked hollandaise sauce, Egg flatbread was dry and over-baked, chicken and waffles were average at best, fruit salad was old and mushy; lastly silverware was dirty and had to be returned. Told kitchen was backed up even though we were one of the few customers in the restaurant. Melinda was a nice waitress. Won't go back.
Restaurant is in a nice location. Seemed short on help. Many patrons dining outside on a beautiful day! The staff was busy preparing for a large group of 60, they said a benefit fundraiser. Server/bartender was very nice. Food was okay. Quite expensive for quality of sandwiches.
It took forever for our food to come out of the kitchen and when it did my filet was way overdone. Our server was great and apologized for the delay. Server said that manager offered two free deserts which we declined as we did not have time to eat. Manager never came by the table to apologize for the delay which was very surprising as restaurant was not that busy. Disappointing experience for such a nice venue.
We had the full experience from drinks, to app, a meal, and dessert. The service was a bit slow, including getting our check picked up since we were waiting for about 20 minutes. Overall a nice place for a drink and meal. We had the fried Brussels sprouts, they are worth a try. If you’re getting dessert, the cheesecake sounds like a good option (3 seasonal flavors), but we were disappointed to find that it was essentially three pieces of plain cheesecake with different toppings. One slice had some fruit jam on top, but the actual cheesecake was still plain. We will definitely be back, though we may choose to sit at the bar for faster service next time.
Two of us arrived together to meet a friend. The friend arriving alone had been seated on the patio. We told the hostess that we were meeting someone. We arrived at 5:55pm for a 6pm reservation. Apparently, none of the staff speak to each other. At 6:15, the friend who arrived alone texted me to ask if we were still meeting her. I had to reply that we had been there for 20 minutes—she had as well. No one put two and two together on the staff??? Also, service was spotty. We received menus, but it took another 15 minutes to place a drink order. For a Friday night, they weren’t super busy. The drink orders, food orders and then food delivery took forever. The food was good, but the experience was not due to the lack of quality service.
This place never disappoints on food, service, setting.
Love Walnut Grill anytime!
I had made the reservation in advance as a special treat for a friend; we were celebrating her birthday. I indicated when I made the reservation for 2 that it was for a birthday. When we arrived, much to my embarrassment, I was told we did not have a reservation; although I know I made on on-line. I did not have my confirmation number with me. Needless to say, I was not pleased; more embarrassed. The food was good and we were able to be seated outside. The waitress was attentive and I thought she did a good job. I was so disappointed that I took the time to make the reservation and then was told I did not have one.
Good breakfast. Everything was hot and tasty. Service was pretty good. Liked being able to have a Mimosa !
The service at this time was particularly quick, which is helpful when you have an antsy 1 year old. Food was delicious.
As usual, Walnut Grill delivers. It's a nice restaurant with a moderately-price menu. The food is above-average and the service was attentive but not overwhelming even on a busy evening. We started off with some appetizers and a bottle of wine. The timing between the appetizers and the entrees was well-managed and we didn't feel rushed. There's ample parking and the restaurant also has outdooring seating with a bar and tables.
Prices too high, atmosphere was poor, service was poor.
Sat outside as requested.
Really nice seating areas outdoors. Nice ambience.
Waitress was good.
Had a foreign object in my soup which they took off the bill and offered a replacement. Steaks came out well-done when asked for medium (we didn’t complain about it). Salad had wilted greens mixed in.
Really nice location. Friendly, attentive service.
Food and food quality is average at best.
Menu appears to be the same from two years ago. No updated items that I could discern.
