Walnut Grill - Wexford
Valentine dinner with my wife. Great food and great service.
Extremely long wait for food. Some food over cooked. Reservation was for 6:15. Didn’t get food until 8:05.
Went to Valentine’s Day. We ordered at 6:13 did not receive the food until 7:43. The waitress kept saying the kitchen was backed up. Meanwhile two tables sat after us and ate and left before we every got our meals. Once we got the meal the food was mediocre at best. Chicken and steak were very small and cold.
We certainly enjoyed our dinner and our waitress but we were disappointed we were not able to sit in Mary‘s area. We always ask for Mary when we go to walnut grill. The hostess was a little confused. We enjoy walnut grill!
Food was delicious -- many great choices on the menu -- our server was kind and pleasant and attentive. Wait for food not very long. Overall terrific!
The menu at Walnut Grill gives so many choices and the prices are great. We were celebrating 2 birthdays in our group and the staff was very accommodating with our seating and our extended stay!
I used to love this restaurant! Not anymore. Our server had an awful attitude. When we let her know we were ready to order she told us we would have to wait, she was just assigned 4 more tables....the service only got worse. Our food was subpar. Our server
Attitude did not get any better until she gave us our check. To little to late.
Although the food WAS good, the service was NOT. For some reason, the server we were assigned to was just not on her A-game that evening. We must have waited about 15 minutes after we were seated before anyone come over to check on us to ask if we had even placed our drink order yet. All around us the servers at other tables were hustling while ours was nowhere to be found even though another server assured us that our girl "was good". When she finally did show up to take our entree order, she did not apologize nor did she offer any explanation for where she had been or for what had been keeping her all this time. The server at the neighboring tables was more attentive to us than our own server. We probably only had our drinks refilled once throughout the entire evening even though I repeatedly kept reminding our server the few times she was present that we'd like refills. As for our steaks, she got the order wrong and somehow mixed up how we each wanted ours cooked. We did not ask to speak to a manager nor did we complain to the server in question. We just wanted to eat and get out of there as quickly as possible. It had been our first visit to the Walnut Grill and although the food was good, the poor service from our server will prevent us from taking our business there again.
Had a 5:30 reservation. 3 adults and 3 kids ( ages 7, 4.5, and 1.5) Around 5:45 our order was taken. Food arrived an HOUR LATER. What was ordered: 3 kids meals, one steak, one fish (that arrived cold and inedible) and a tuna sushi (no real cooking involved there). The waitress did not bring bread until asked, and then brought one loaf containing 5 slices of bread for a table of 6. When asked for additional bread, received a snarky "okay," but, it was never brought. When the waitress finally came back to the table about 15-20 minutes later to check-in, we informed her that the fish was under-cooked, and were also ready for 2 boxes. Rather than apologizing, she asked if we wanted anything else instead. We replied we did not have the time for that (given the hour wait the first time). She did take the fish off the check, but in doing so, again did not apologize (or ever apologize for the kitchen being terribly slow), but rather said, "I wish you had told me sooner so I could have gotten something else." Two things: one, she didn't come back for a long time; and two: with three young kids, we did not have another hour to wait for an entree.
Just all around poor execution by the waitress, the kitchen, etc. The waitress should have brought the bread first thing, not only when asked; the waitress should have checked in, apologized for the terribly poor service, and not compounded the problems by generally having zero to a negative personality.
This is probably the second time the service (both wait time and staff) at Walnut Grill Wexford has been a total failure.
And we've had 2 rather large-sized parties there in the past, and were going to book another, but not after this debacle.
Great. But maybe turn down music a little.
This place is a lot bigger than I thought. There are rooms behind rooms LOL. The food is always fantastic!!! Any waiter/waitress I’ve had has been very nice and attentive. The food is a little more on the expensive side, but still affordable. The amount of food you get is good too!! You definitely don’t leave hungry and I typically don’t leave with leftovers. This is a very awesome place especially in the summer when the patio is open!!
The food was not great and it was overpriced. The service was rather slow. Nobody in my party was impressed. Will not be coming back.
The food was just right when it was served and was very delicious! Our waitress was very nice and extreme helpful.
We made a reservation for NYE dinner but upon arrival, was told by the host that the dining room was closing but there was open seating at the bar. When making the reservation, it should indicate if this is a first come first serve situation and for the bar area rather than the dining room. It was a pretty disappointing experience, the service was not very friendly or accommodating and the food was ok.
lights were too bright, waitress had a bad attitude
nO! the food was Cold, way overpriced, meal was supposed to come with pineapple salsa... lol joke not a pineapple to be found. didnt get the asparagus that was a side, soup was luke warm at best, mashed potatos were cold, she brought us new microwaved ones, artichoke dip, well just huge chunks of artichoke, no dip, very bitter tasting, shouldnt need a knife for dip.
Prompt service, well prepared food
I’ve been here many times but all of this fish at our table was over cooked. From the fish tacos to the fish special. Disappointed because we brought out of town guests and raved about the fish tacos.
Spinach Artichoke dip was outstanding as usual. Shrimp special was very good.
Pop roast so-so.
Happy hour on the weekend is a plus!!
House wines are always good.
Sat down at 7:10
Served at 8:20
Excuse from server was that a large party had just ordered ahead of us.
The dining area was half full
—And we ordered from the specials menu.
Consequently, we had a very rushed dinner because we had to be somewhere.
Christmas Eve Dinner with the family
We sat near front entrance which stayed pretty empty so sound remained moderate. Food was very good. Fried Brussels Sprouts were noteworthy. Service was great.
Our waiter Scott was amazing! Very personable and very kind.
Walnut Grill is always excellent. We have always had great food, drinks and service. We have
been coming there for years and have never been disappointed. Thank you Walnut Grill
Went for my birthday. Restaurant was very crowded due to half price wine and several private parties so noise level was high. Had reservation and we were seated immediately, no waiting at all. Our server was pleasant, helpful and had a wonderful personality; she was not frazzled at all with how busy it was. All of our meals were excellent....crab cakes, salmon, pasta, steak. My friends told our server it was my birthday and she brought out an ice cream toffee ball with candles. It was a wonderful evening all around. Thank you walnut grill!
Didnt appreciate the bait and switch tactics by waitress. Happy hour stated $4 Tito's but was charged $6.95. Also menu stated that you could add on a soup or salad with entree for $4. But was charged $6.75 for each soup. Very disappointing with the answer received from waitress. Said you must tell them to eliminate a side to get the $4 add on. I was also told that if you get your coctail on the rocks instead of adding a soda with it that it becomes $6.75. Too bad they feel they need to con there loyal customers.
Went to Walnut Grill for the Thanksgiving buffet and was not pleased. They ran out of dishes when we went up to get our food. At one point, the turkey was gone and they had to be told about it. This also happened with the salad dressing and pumpkin pie. The stuffing tasted like Stove Top. Someone should have been making certain everything was available at all times. The meal was over priced for the quality of the food. My family will never eat there again due to the poor experience.
I would not recommend Walnut Grill for their Thanksgiving Buffet. While the food choices were varied and sounded great, the food itself was cold even after sitting in the chafing dish. Certain foods were refilled slowly like the mashed potatoes and the prime rib. The food that was available wasn't even barely warm. For $28.95 each, we could have had a sit down dinner elsewhere where our food could have been sent back if it was served cold. I have eaten here before and enjoyed my meal, but this outing was a disaster.
the food was great and our waitress was fantastic forgot her name though. Will be there next Thanksgiving too.
Delicious, cordial, convenient. Only complaint is a little messy probably due to a few careless patrons.
Really enjoyed our thanksgiving meal here. Seated promptly and food was good! My only complaint was the desserts weren’t all that great but the main meal was perfectly prepared and our server Mary took great care of us! We plan to go back next year !
Our server Mary was the best part of the evening and the walnut ball dessert. Our food was so disappointing but our server was so on point and sweet and got a table of the book club ladies with all waters, we didn’t want to cause any more stress. Our French onion was incredibly salty which means it was cooking all day. My moms flounder was bland and zero flavor. And my fish tacos were just ok. Really disappointed this time around accept for our amazing server. She was the sweetest of them all. Don’t lose her.
didn't care for the french onion soup, it tasted super sweet. but the rest of the items were good.
Excellent cheese plate
Brunch food was okay, nothing special. Service was slow. Lots of drama happening among staff - we hate that. Keep it in the back of the house, folks. Were told mimosas were$4, got charged $5. Will not return anytime soon. Much better choices in immediate area.
We love coming to Walnut Grill. The food is very good and so is the service, and atmosphere. We are there almost every week. Thank you Walnut
We had previously experienced slow kitchen at Sunday brunch; glad we gave it another try because this time it was just fine!
