Walnut Grill - Wexford
I ordered the breakfast burrito for brunch the other day without the sweet chili and it came out with tons of sausage in it.
Sausage is NOT under the description for the burrito...candied bacon is noted . The server took it off of our bill and they cooked a new one to go which was very nice.
The menu needs updated though if there is sausage in it.
Great food and service! A little expensive but it was worth it
Unfortunately we wanted to have a quick bite while seated on the patio. We waited for our food, which was only three appetizers, for about an hour. Our waiter was taking care of more than half of the patio seating so we ended up having to get our own drinks. Not what we expected. He was never able to come back and ask us if we needed anything until we were finished with our meals and ready to get the check. Very disappointing
Service was fantastic. There was a delay from kitchen, and service staff and management was very accommodating
Loud atmosphere. Food selection and taste was great but service was not.
My sister-in-law and I were there Sunday for the Father's Day brunch. It was excellent. We loved that you served an omelette of our choice at our table. Everything on the buffet was excellent. The service was very good. Thank you Walnut Grill.
Walnut Grill is o e of the places I go most often, and I usually give it better marks. This time we went for Father’s Day brunch and had a few issues:
* it being a special occasion, they had only a brunch buffet and were not serving their normal breakfast/brunch menu. We found this to be disappointing as we were looking forward to the normal options. This is partly on us for not finding out about this ahead if time, but I think it could have been noted more prominently (at all?) on their web site or on their Yelp entry.
* the food on the buffet was a little hit and miss. Some items were just fine ( the French toast, roast beef) and some were a disappointing (the hash browns/home fries seemed like they’d ben on the steam table for an hour even though we arrived only 20 min after opening)
* It was a little pricey. Nearly 30$ per person for the buffet with coffee or OJ for each of us (with both coffee and OJ an extra charge). 25$ would have been OK, 20$ a really good price. If you’re going to eat a lot, you can make the 30$ worth while, but since we’re trying not to overeat, we didn’t really get our money’s worth.
With their normal menu and service, I expect I’d give them my normal (for them) 4 stars. For the brunch buffet, though, only 2.5.
Food and service was amazing
Excellent service and food. The kids meals were some of the largest I've seen!
Everything was great, per usual. Doesn't seem to matter which location, the service and food are always on point. Minor issue this time was one person in my party ordered egg whites and got regular eggs, but wasn't a huge deal.
We are at Walnut Grill a lot and it never disappoints. Our meals were excellent, and also our drinks. Aaron was our server, and as always, he does an amazing job, and we really appreciate him. Thank you Walnut Grill and Aaron.
On a Friday early evening already out of items on menu saying didn’t have time to prepare more . ( pickled vegetables) appetizer.
Waitress was very nice and tried to be helpful which made the experience better . Right before I left I used the ladies room it was one of the dirtiest restaurant restrooms I have used in a long time . Needs a really good clean and some TLC .
We go their every Friday for lunch. We love Walnut Grill, for the friendly staff, the food and how clean
it is, and of course the atmosphere. Our server was Aaron, and as always he is the best of the best. I recommend Walnut Grill to everyone. Thank you Walnut Grill and Aaron.
Let me first say that our server did the best she could at a time the rest of the restaurant staff underperformed -- she worked as hard as she could at a time the place was extremely short-staffed, both in the kitchen and on the floor. Nonetheless .... we waited at least 30 minutes at our table before we saw any food or drink beside water. Once our order was taken, our server ultimately prepared our salads in the kitchen due to the shortage in the kitchen. In general, the food at this Walnut Grill, in Wexford, was fair, but no more. There is another suburban Walnut Grill location in the Pittsburgh area, and I hope their food and overall customer efforts are far better than the experience we had earlier this week. At the end, we felt badly for our server, who tried her very best.
Food was really good. We sat outside and had a very relaxing enjoyable evening
They forgot our appetizer until we were already done eating our entrees and we had to mention it. The white wine my mother in law ordered was warm. I ordered the carrot side from the kids menu for my son and they were cold and hard (I expected that they would be cooked carrots). The fruit cup I ordered for my son looked like it was just half of the white remnants near the rind of a watermelon. The New England clam chowder my father ordered was watery. The Caesar dressing on my salad tasted overwhelmingly of horseradish. They sat us in a room in the back all alone that looked like a banquet room and was just silent and awkward. Very little ambience. Not worth the money.
The food is alwAys good. Occasionally even great. This time was more good. We sat inside which is nice but the best experience is sitting outside on a warm night.
Had great service and food as always from Erica and Jocelyn! It is my favorite place!
Mother’s Day dinner.
Good time except that they ran out of some of their specials
The food was average and the service was slow. The music selection was frankly a bit odd (80s dance) and way too loud.
We were placed in a banquet room with a large group who was very noisey. When we were waited on the waitress seemed very frustrated and was not pleasant at all. We ordered our meal and about 10 minutes later the waitress came back to tell me wife they were out of what se ordered.
She ordered a different meal and when the meals finally came mine was cold. The waitress took it back and envtually told me they were goin to make me a new meal. Mine came after my wife and daughter had already finished theirs.
The manager came and apologized and took my meal of the bill and offered us a complimentary dessert. Of course what we ordered they only hade one of so the three or us shared one dessert. We were given a $25 gift card by a different manager.
It was very obvious the the staff was frustrated as they would gather outside the entrance to the room we were in and complain.
I have been to this place a few times before and was satisfied. However, I do not intend to visit this restaurant in the near future if at all.
The food was very delicious but everything on the buffet was cold.
Mother’s Day. Buffet was not kept up with - eggs were gray. Dessert table looked like a bomb went off on it. Food was sub-par. Chicken was old and rubbery. Very disappointed.
High rating 100% due to our server, Scott. He was was fantastic.
The noise level was very high, but our server was excellent.
We have earen here before and had great service. This time not so much. The food was fare and took forever to get our appetizer.
Good food, service and menu for the price range. Will definitely return.
I loved that Walnut Grill was able to accommodate my diet plan!!
Worst experience twice lately.......sat in booths in bar area....last visit 11:15 am was reservation
11:30 took order. On lunch break, only 2 areas had people, watched people come and get food, on lunch break, by noon had to ask a girl that walked by for food, then 12: 05 pm food came out by my fries with wrap i was told was coming. Waited, for fries by time came asked for box and check had to get back to work, no one apologized, but was in hurry to clean our table while other visitor was till eating.....we left no tip and will not be back not first time with a same bartender........so disappointed in walnut grill with service Thur second time on open table......good food but will not be back for awhile............
Extremely poor service for average food. Not properly staffed Greeted rudely and it went down hill from there
Food was good. Service was lacking. We were seated then not acknowledged by a waiter for 10 minutes. Waiter was not attentive. We were given bread plates at our place setting, but never offered bread (my wife’s meal was a pasta dish which would normally have bread). Waiter did not check on us after someone else delivered our food until after we were done with our meals. I needed a refill of my soda halfway through my meal, but the waiter did not return until we were done eating. Once he asked me if I wanted a refill, he forgot and didn’t return for several minutes.
Service was good. The potstickers were good. would have liked more options for vegetables. Steak could have used a bit more flavor. On the whole not a bad experience.
We went to the Walnut Grill to celebrate our 49 years of marriage. Dinner was delicious, service was good. I noticed one of the waitstaff was setting the battery operated candle lights on the tables. He did not bring one to our table. Would have been a nice addition to the evening.
The service and food were excellent, and the menu provided numerous options. The noise level, however, was so high that the server could not hear our orders without bending over and placing his ear near our mouths, and normal conversation was extremely difficult. I would return, but only in mid-afternoon, between the usual lunch and dinner times.
As always, we had our Friday lunch and it was excellent. Everyone is always friendly and courteous.
We always love our meals and drinks, and service. We have never had a bad experience at Walnut Grill.
Our server was Aaron, and as always he is the best of the best. Thank you Walnut Grill and Aaron!!
My favorite breakfast in the North Hills - interesting and tasty choices - and if you are into healthy food they have that. Best oatmeal presentation I have had in the region and the Egg and Spinach Flatbread is sensational. What I cannot get over is how the service and ambiance don't match the food quality in the morning. The last two times there the greeter was not at her station and I had to wait at length for her. I was told this last time kind of brusquely by another staff member that I could seat myself. That was not clear because that is not the case at lunchtime or dinner and there is no sign that indicates you self-seat in morning. I also don't want to hear raucous rock music in the morning. When I hear this kind of music I sense it is the employees who are gleefully choosing the music for themselves, not the patrons.
The restaurant was much busier with UberEats and it took a long time for our order to come to the table-as did our dessert as well which was ice cream and melted upon arrival. We usually frequent for brunch/lunch so we were surprised at the time difference.
Every Friday, we an excellent lunch drinks and service at Walnut Grill. It is now our favorite place
to have lunch. As soon as we walk in the door, everyone greets us. We love the atmosphere, food, drinks and service. Last Friday Aaron was out server, and as always did an excellent job. Thank you Walnut Grill and Aaron.
I’ve been to this location about 4 or 5 times now and never had a bad experience. Any server we’ve had here is amazing, they’re always so good with my daughter who is about 2 years old. And the food is also amazing! If you go for breakfast get the pancakes, you won’t be disappointed!
