Great food and staff.
Great food and AMAZING service as always!!! So happy we had a chance to get back in there.
Dinner We often dine here. We were excited to be able to go inside and sit down to enjoy a meal. Take out got real old.
This was a great experience. The patio is open, but heated so it felt safe and was plenty warm enough. The service was great, food delicious and great specials.
We were just glad to be able to go out for our Thanksgiving meal, so weren't too picky about the venue! The service was fine and there were only a few tables with patrons. Most of the activity we saw was for take-out... that was very busy. The meal was just "okay." We had the lobster bisque which was pretty good but very salty. The rest was the usual Thanksgiving fare of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and green beans. The stuffing was a heavy lump. I asked for a little extra gravy because there wasn't much on the potatoes and turkey but was told it would cost us $2 extra which I thought was pretty high for what ended up to be two little condiment sized cups of it. What the dinner lacked in taste, however, it made up for in quantity. We took about half of it home as well as the included desserts and had it again the next night. Overall, a good value but not quite the quality we had hoped for in a special holiday meal. I've been to Walnut Grill when we ordered from the regular menu several times and thought it was good, so I'd try going there again.
We had a great meal an our server was really great.
Thank you.
The food was good and I am very appreciative that you were open on Thanksgiving day. My only issue was that the desserts were freezing cold. No one wants to eat brownies or apple pie that is freezing cold.
Thank you again for being open!
The thanksgiving dinner was excellent, so much so we plan to go every year.
That's great to hear!! Thank you so much for choosing to spend your Thanksgiving with us. We will be happy to welcome you back anytime. Feel free to ask for me, my name is Scott Lang and I am the General Manager. Thank you for the 5 star review!!
Great place, always clean, always great food. The hostess is warm and welcoming. The waiter was exceptional!!! And we can’t thank you enough for the Veterans Day promotion. We’ve been there a couple of times now and will definitely!! Be back.
Lunch prices are much higher than they used to be.
Party of 10 including 4 children server was attentive and service was exceptional
As usual the Walnut Grill didn't disappoint. the food and service were wonderful the Social Distancing tents were warm and well lit but damper on the ambience not a big deal in these times. I watched the staff doing their cleaning protocol between patrons and they have the system down. All in all we felt very safe.
The food was delicious. The service was good. One of the guests received the wrong soup and was told he would receive what he ordered, but came to learn that what was offered originally (what the guest ordered) was not available.
We appreciated the restaurant's Covid-19 precautions -- servers masked, tables and chairs meticulously cleaned, social distancing observed -- and the food was delicious, as always. Our server had a five-star personality! This was our first outing in six months, and it was very enjoyable.
Very nice of u to give me my Bday dinner two months late. Thanks
We used the Open Table app and the reservations were right on time. Our table was ready the dining room was socially distanced. The waiter took our order within minutes. Given all of the challenges for restaurants right now we couldn't have had a better experience. The food is the same high quality that Walnut Grille has always had. Pricing seemed up but with all that is going all didn't seem outrageous for the food quality, presentation and portions.
Great outdoor seating. Seated promptly.
We Just needed a time -out
They do NOT take reservations, so this whole thing should be disconnected.
Great experience. Perfect service and social distancing. Pancake breakfast was enormous.
Our favorite place to eat locally
Great place to eat. Lots of different things on the menu. I had the blackened salmon sandwich. Delicious.
We love going every week it’s awesome food and service we look forward to each week
They're not serving bread now!
Some servers think wearing a face shield is adequate for Covid transmission protection. It is NOT!
Professional friendly
In light of COVID I have had very different dining experiences (and give all staff and workers all kudos). However, I was not thrilled with some of the practices. I don’t think Covid is an explanation for why i can’t have lemon in my iced tea, or why bread and butter/hummus are no longer served. I’ve been to other restaurants where this has not been an issue.
I was a little taken aback when the server took my iced tea to refill with a straw in it and brought it back multiple times. That shouldn’t happen on a good day! Also, tables outside that were ‘blocked off’ due to social distancing were ultimately seated by the time we left.
All in all I know these are trying times but I think I’ll wait until this blows over to return.
Wait staff had the right balance of paying attention to needs without hovering. Food was excellent.
Food was good. I went during breakfast/brunch time. Had the salmon and eggs. Ordered my salmon blackened and it came out good. Husband had the walnut french toast bruele( I think is the name) and an egg skillet with potatoes and turkey bacon. That was good too. Only small issue I had was our water was dirty. Probably was from the ice, idk but we both had black stuck floating in our water. We requested bottled water and it wasnt a problem
Had made reservations. They didn’t have a table ready. Had to wait half an hour to be seated....outside. Waitress was terrible. Only came by once to check on us.
Due to the pandemic, this was the first place my boyfriend and I were able to go. It was amazing!!
Walnut grill is always a good experience. I am sad that they no longer have the mussels as an appetizer. But times change I guess ..
Everything was fantastic and would recommend to anyone looking for a great place to eat
The Brussels sprout appetizers are delicious as is the Long Island ice teas
Outdoor with the high winds in corner table was not good. Leaves and dirt blew up in food. Umbrella pulled out three times. Corner area not good to be at Slow service also
first time back since COVID19- and we enjoyed our lunch. I was disappointed that although I made a reservation that I could not reserve space on the patio. I think although that was the old rule, that you should consider changing it for the time being as I am not comfortable sitting inside at this point.
The waitstaff seemed shorthanded.
I ussaly really like this place however . This time the food was horrible. I practically had to. Beg to talk to the waitress . The food timing was very off, the drinks were watered down, the soda was flat, l it was if no one there every really worked in restaurant. Idk very disappointed
Second time we’ve ordered here and the steak was nearly purple when we ordered it medium. Server was nothing to brag about and acted so busy yet she had maybe 3 tables due to COVID. Went for my fiancée’s birthday and they didn’t have any brownies. How? You’ve been closed for months and you’re finally open!! Disappointing
Disliked that I had a reservation and the guests who just walked in got seated before my party. Takes away the point of making a reservation.
This is a good restaurant. We went for our first Sunday dinner out following the loosening of restrictions when Allegheny County entered the green phase. The only issue is that I requested the outdoor seating only when I reserved through open table and our confirmation reflected that but was told when we got there that outdoor seating is first come, first serve. The hostess initially seemed not interested in accommodating the request saying she didn’t have any tables available outside. I was quite clear, but polite, that I was not interested in eating inside. She then checked again and said if we were willing to wait 10 minutes, she would have a table. We were, and the rest of the experience was pleasant.
Never disappoints! It was the first place we wanted to go after the restrictions were lifted
