Walnut Grill - Fox Chapel
Only issue I have with Walnut Grove is the filthy fake flowers in the Ladies room...no complaints about any thing else. Food is great, especially love the beet salad, and the servers have always been knowledgeable about menu offerings and courteous.
It was a great experience! The waiter greeted us and selected a table of our choice. She smiled and was friendly and helpful with answering questions.
Great informal place for a drink, a bite to eat, and great conversation. Had a series of apps and entrees including the chicken quesadilla, fish tacos, burger ... For desert the key lime pie was good (even with my standards, which were formed in Key West).
We are regulars at Walnut Grill and love the food and the servers/staff.
The brunch was not what we had experienced in the past...the food selection was almost all starch and cold...the servers were pre-occupuied wanting to talk among themselves more than serve guests...plates & silverware were dirty.
Walnut Grill has excellent food and good service. We will be back for our next girls night out!
We both had salads and the shrimp scampi....delicious!!!
Definitely going back to try something else. One of our favorite restaurants.
Everything was wonderful... food service and value
Wonderful day for lunch on the patio!
WE go there often, unfortunately our dessert left much to be desired
Please do something about the fleas in the dining room!
Very nice restaurant with delicious food and drinks! Service was great!!
Food was very average, service somewhat slow even though there was hardly anybody else in the place.
Best crab cake I have had in a very long time! Everyone at the table loved their food! Our server was wonderful! Can't wait to go again!
The waitress was very attentive, the food was good. The atmosphere was a little loud especially as there were quite a few small children, which made for talking a little hard. Otherwise the experience wasn't terrible.
One of us had the crab cakes, another had the shrimp scampi and the other had the strawberry balsamico salad. All were delicious! Then, the three of us shared a piece of key lime pie which was perfect to end a fantastic meal! Love this restaurant!
Father’s day brunch
Had the super food bowl. Excellent, filling and nutritious. Would love to see this type of offering in more places!
I think I am going to have to find a new brunch spot. This restaurant needs to close down and do a thorough cleaning of the entire place. There is a strange smell that greets you at the door that is not appetizing. I have been here for brunch several times now, and most times the home fries are burnt, and there are never any spoons or bowls to be found for the soup. This past weekend, the salad on the buffet was literally drowned with dressing, so much so that I thought it was maybe supposed to be some type of jello salad or something. It was just plain gross. I thought this restaurant had a better reputation than to allow something like this to go unnoticed. Sorry Walnut Grill, but I think you better get your act together!
We are regulars here for any occasion and it’s always a pleasant experience. Excellent as always.
The staff was great, but the brunch was horrible. Most things were cold and dry. The omelette station was the only thing I'd go back for.
The service was great. We sat outside but I think that place needs to do a thorough patio cleaning with a pressure washer. The food was decent.
Great food, great service. Lovely place to meet and celebrate with friends and family. Easy parking. Wonderful evening
Walnut Grill's menu offers many great choices. I particularly love the fried brussel sprouts and several of the salad offerings. The food is terrific.
Our service; however, was not great. The waitress was friendly but very inattentive. I waited a ridiculously long time for a glass of ice! And our food took an unreasonably long time.
Despite the less than good service, I would go back again, hoping it was an isolated incident.
The food was great as always. Service was perfect. Our waitress Mary was excellent
Our server was the best and the food was amazing. We had a mini celebration and he made the day special
Wonderful service and great brunch! We all really enjoyed our time at Walnut Grill!
I would recommend the restaurant, but not the buffet. We arrived around 1:30 and it looked like it was ending. Food was not refilled, salad looked like it had been sitting out too long, the meet was cold, the pastries were limited. Overall I love the regular menu, however I would not go to the holiday buffet again.
We visited for Mother’s Day brunch as we have in prior years. for the cost of the brunch the quality of the food was subpar. When we first approached the buffet many of the food stations were empty and it was not very busy after 10 am. Food was refilled but much was cold or in the case of eggs Benedict tasted like vinegar. The selection of offerings was downgraded from previous years and for $80+ for three adults I would expect better quality and offerings. For the cost I would recommend the Gran Concourse as an alternative.
Sat on patio for lunch. Embarrassed for manager to welcome guests to a patio with busted chairs, wobbly tables, and a floor that looked like it hadn’t been swept or cleaned in days. I get that the wind can be a problem with outside seating, but it was not currently a windy day and there had to be 50 straw wrappers on the ground among other debris. One other pet peeve when serving a dish that has shrimp with tails (especially a salad) please provide a side plate to put the tails on.
Brunch was good but expensive. Our server was great, very friendly!
Watered down cocktail had whisky flavor. Wait person apologized for long time bringing (really awful) bread, because "it just came out of the freezer and had to defrost". "Pan seared" asparagus was steamed mush. Overall, it was underwhelming, bland American chain restaurant fare.
We both had two different breakfast entrees and they were both delicious! Love this restaurant.
I visit this establishment often. On this particular occasion our waitress was awful. NEVER came by to check on us, see if we needed anything. I finally went and asked for a manager. The manager NEVER came to see what I wanted.
On my first visit I found the decor pleasant, but a little loud for my taste. The wait-staff was attentive and friendly. The food was good, the prices very reasonable. I'm pretty sure I'll be back there again when I'm in the Fox Chapel area.
PS I don't understand how you want your first question answered. It seems to require a simple yes/no, but you provide a sliding scale question above the box for the review. This is unclear to me.
The table was ready, no waiting! A very friendly and professional server who kept coffee cups filled, dishes cleared and all without any fuss...much appreciated! The brunch was very nice, especially enjoyed the salmon entree. Overall, an enjoyable experience. Many thanks!
One of the better fish sandwiches...really enjoyed it.
We asked for a booth and we got a very small booth with little to no room on the table and it was next to extremely noisy bar area. So, lesson learned to ask for a normal size booth and have it away from the bar moving forward.
Excellent food and service. Waitress was very attentive to our needs. Restaurant itself is loud.
We eat at walnut grill at least twice a month and most of the time it’s very good, but tonight was a disaster.
My dinner, chicken dish was burned, left in the pan until it was black on one side. Dana our waitress was to say the least not there and when she was it was with a poor attitude. My chicken was replaced and was perfect the second time, but this took another half an hour to arrive. Our party was four people, three of which had finished their dinners and had to wait for mine to appear.
Getting a check and then waiting for the credit cards to come back was another 15 minutes.
I think 2 hours in a fast casual restaurant is a bit too long.
As I said we eat their often and will return.
