Walnut Grill - Fox Chapel
Walnut crust, spiced orange marmalade
Field greens, balsamic marinated strawberries, goat cheese, candied almonds, balsamic reduction
Crispy shrimp, Asian slaw, wild rice blend, watermelon radish, cilantro, sweet drop peppers, sweet and hot ginger sauce
Just an ordinary plaza grill. Not as interesting as it seemed on their website
Food was excellent as usual. The service was not great, which seems to be typical in the mornings.
Great food as always, our server was great very friendly
With my husband
Very nice evening. Valentine’s Day evening so it was busy. We had reservations and were seated within 10 minutes of our arrival. Nicole was our server and couldn’t have been more pleasant. She was quick to refill our beverages, check on us and bring us breads/spreads when our order was delayed a bit. Chyna was assisting with manager duties that night and was moving g quickly throughout the restaurant checking on customers, etc. The customers seemed to all be having a great time. It was an enjoyable evening. Thank you!
The food was slow the crab bisque was watery the brownie tasted old and was hard And round the service I was slow but it was the holiday
Had a reservation and was immediately seated. Wait staff was efficient and competent, food was outstanding.
We started out by sharing the chicken quesadillas with sour cream and raspberry dressing which was very good. Then one of us had the Cobb salad, another one had the turkey club and the third had the pot roast. All was delicious! Will be returning.
One of us had the child’s pepperoni pizza with cut pears and French fries while the other had the caramelized walnut salad with salmon...everything was delicious! This is a great restaurant and I have always had great meals.
A sad low start to service again. This is twice in a row. The server didn’t come over for 10 minutes from being seated. He apologized though. Which was nice of him and the service was better. Food was good as usual. Especially the crab cakes
This was the second time my friends and I got together at Walnut Grill. The food is so good and we are able to sit and visit with each other without feeling like we are being rushed out. This may end up being our place every time we get together because it is so group friendly and the food is all so tasty.
Very good food. Would certainly go back, the menu is extensive and offered many different types of food.
Nice variety of dishes and everything was delicious!
Consistently good experience. The food and service are always good, this time was no different.
My chicken entree was delicious, but I ordered the loaded baked potato as a side. It was not good at all. It had been microwaved, it tasted like perhaps several times. When it cooled the toppings all congealed into one hard clump on the top. It was very hard to eat and did not taste good. I only ate a few bites. I was very disappointed in the loaded baked potato.
Staff did a great job with Service and having to deal with New Year’s Eve reservations and controlling tables in a timely fashion
My son and I enjoyed our evening
Great place to meet up with friends! Great service and food!
We both had the Strawberry Balsamico salads which were very good as always! We both enjoy the salads and get them often. Great restaurant!
We had some of the delicious breakfasts...one of us had the traditional Eggs Benedict while the other had the waffle, an egg and bacon. Very good way to start the day!
Saturday night dinner at Walnut Grille is very nice but this time of year lots of large parties. Food was very good and the service excellent. A little loud for my liking and large parties.
We like Walnut Grill in general for lunches and dinners. Sunday, we stopped in for brunch. Their brunch buffet is awesome. They also have an omelet station and are carving prime rib too. Service is excellent.
Always a nice evening when we go to the Walnut Grill in Fox Chapel. We met a friend that we haven't seen for a while and were able to relax and catch-up. Food is Good, service as always was great. Just an over all nice evening. The Walnut Grill on Fox Chapel is one of our go to places when we want to go out.
Thanksgiving out? Yep. A great decision.
Everything tasted great because I didn't have to cook or clean.
Enjoyable environment, everyone was in a festive mood.
What a disappointment! One of the worst Thanksgiving restaurant meals that my wife and I have ever had!
First the food: PROs: Salads were fabulous; Brusel Sprouts were great; Stuffing was moist and tasty; cranberry sauce obviously commercially bought but fine. CONs: Turkey was TOTALLY dried out. There were no slices, only broken bits and pieces; My end cut of Roast Beef was so overdone that it looked, and when picked up felt, literally like shoe leather; The desserts were simply awful: Petit Fours dried out, brownies broken to bits, Pecan Pie literally tasteless.
ENVIRONMENT: PROs: Overall quiet, unrushed, no hordes of people waiting in line: Waitress (SAM) was great. CONs: Serving table was filthy; utensils covered with sauces, gravies, etc. Lidded chafing dishes/warmers were filthy; Fresh plates often had to be requested; Ditto napkins; Constantly running out of cranberry sauce, gravy, salads, etc.
Consistent quality even on a busy day like thanksgiving. We had the buffet but I will say that the food could have been warmer.
The Thanksgiving Buffet was delicious. Service was great. The waitress was very efficient and could not have been more pleasant.
We went to their Thanksgiving buffet for lunch and it was really good! Our waiter, Gino, was fantastic! The food was hot and fresh and it wasn't too crowded. We will do this again next year!
Food and service were great, as always! It was very, very cold in the restaurant so that made it a not as great experience this time around.
We often stop at the Walnut Grill in Fox Chapel, food and service have always been good. It is one of our go to restaurants. When we are in that area.
Brunch food could have bin better
English muffin on egg benedick were very tough.
First time ordering from their breakfast menu and it was fantastic! We ordered breakfast for lunch as they serve breakfast until 3pm weekdays. Delicious!
As usual, our experience at Walnut Grill was exceptional!
The hostess was texting on her cellphone when we left. She did not even look up or speak to us.
I was disappointed with the Sunday brunch buffet . Eggs Benedict wasn’t fresh. Wanted fresh waffles at omelet bar. Bacon was good. Perhaps juice at buffet. Been there in the past for Sunday brunch buffet and the quality was excellent. We go there for dinners and the food is food off the menu. We won’t go back for Sunday brunch buffet.
We celebrated my friend's birthday and everything was just great. Loved our waiter, Rick. Will continue coming back.
We both had coffee and the Lil’ breakfast plates which were delicious with 2 eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast. Love the breakfasts here!
We both had the California Eggs Benedict which was delicious...one of our favorite places for breakfast!
We chose the option of "picking 2" menu items and it was perfect for us. Our 2 consisted of the beet salad and crab cake duo as well as the Caesar salad and Shrimp Scampi. The food was tasty...the portion size was perfect-no left overs for us.
Food was great as always! Service was excellent, just enough attention but not too much.
