The food was delicious and our waiter was very nice!,
We went to dinner to celebrate my birthday and were extremely pleased with the visit.
Always a pleasure. Good food and friendly competent service.
Order was not right and then when the salmon was brought it was overcooked or possibly microwaved. They were busy but the dinner took way too long. Waitress was good. I ordered the Shrimp Bowl which is one of their better dishes. We have had better experiences there, so I will give them a pass this time.
Corn chowder special was delicious. After entrees we’re served our server went missing, I never received the extra romulade I requested/needed. Eventually asked busboy for more water. Celebrating a special 96th birthday, which was lovely with our server and staff presenting a sundae and singing. Lunch ended on a positive note.
Steak was burned. Charred. Disappointing place.
Over priced for what it was. Decor was dated. I would not return
We were pleasantly surprised with how good our meals were.
Service was great. Food was average.
Emily S was a wonderful server.
Received the wrong order and by the time I got my food, the rest of my party was done eating. The waiter tried to push dessert on the other folks at my table so they had something to do while I ate. No apologies for the wrong order and nothing taken off the bill. My husband had a piece of pasta in his salad and the waiter tried to tell us it was a piece of cheese. Not ever going back, not worth the money for subpar food and service.
Just ok. Don't need to go back. My husband thought his food was ok, my not so much.
Excellent food, pleasant server!
Don't know if it was because I did the reservation through Open Table or not but when we showed up and announced our reservation we were told our table would be ready momentarily. directly after three other couples came in with the same reservation and all three were escorted into the dining-room and seated. We were then escorted into the bar and seated at a high top beside the door to the kitchen and under a low hanging TV. Not a very romantic setting for Valentines day with everyone at the bar watching the TV above your head. The waitress was awesome but the food was cold. Overall the whole experience was not a very rewarding or pleasant time.
Good food but our server was not. We saw other servers at surrounding tables more than we ever saw ours.
Enjoyed the dinner. Only disappointment is that we were seated near an emergency exit and on the cold night we were chilly. Had to eat dinner with our coats on. Because it was Valentine's Day and there were no additional tables available we didn't request to move. There were no other options. Will not let that influence our choice of going back.
Seating she just wished the hot tea would have been in a container that stayed warm.
It was just middle of the road. Food was ok, server was very nice, but busy. We’ve had better food elsewhere for a little less money.
We were a party of eight. No had been there before and we all loved the place.
Food and service was great! We really enjoyed our dinner and will be back for sure!
Pleasant welcome. Excellent service. Good food.
The chicken breasts were flat and over cooked. Salad was drenched in house dressing. Ordered desert (brownie and ice cream) after 30 minute wait we were told that the kitchen is too busy and we can leave or keep waiting. We left and will never return. This place is not worth the money or time.
It was fine
Even though I made a reservation, we were seated in the very loud bar area, which is not where we wanted to sit. When I inquired about it, I was told there was a 30 minute wait for the dining room. I obviously didn't want to wait, which is why I made a reservation. I asked to speak to the manager and he never came by. In the past when eating there, our table received a basket of bread, but not this time. I was disappointed.
We stopped at Walnut Grill for dinner before heading into the city for a show. Our waiter was great—very knowledgeable and kind. Our drink glasses were never empty, and the food came out quick! Both of our meals were delicious, and we said we would definitely come back again.
Always a great experience. Staff...especially at the hostess stand are wonderful,
I had never eaten at this location and was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was. The only reason that I didn't give this a full five stars is mainly due to feeling rushed by the server. The restaurant was not busy, and perhaps she didn't feel that she would receive a decent tip from someone dining alone, but it put me off a little. Also, if someone orders a hot tea, they should be given two tea bags. I had more than enough hot water for a second or third cup, but wasn't offered or given an extra tea bag.
Great place. Friendly staff
Thank you for your 5 star review as well as your great comments!! We look forward to serving you in the near future!
I made a reservation through the Open Table app for 7 and when we arrived at Walnut Grill in Bridgeville the host and hostess began combining three high top tables in the bar area. While they were doing that I looked in the restaurant area and saw it was not currently full but there was the beginnings of a party assembling in the back.
I made my objection immediately regarding seats in the bar but was told I had not asked for any special seating - I pointed out that I made a reservation for the restaurant and not the bar but was told they don’t distinguish between the areas. I was dumbfounded because I would not even consider the two areas are the same.
Additionally, my mother uses a walker to ambulate and would never be able to get up on a high chair - didn’t make a special request because usually a restaurant reservation means sitting at a table and not a high top - or so I thought.
The manager was approached by the two at the front desk but never came to speak to me personally. We were offered a booth in the restaurant which suited our needs.
The food was good and the waitress Allison was fantastic - knowledgeable and patient with 7 people ordering.
Lesson learned- ask about the details of your reservation and put in special requests.
Restaurant is starting to feel rundown. Food is just ok.
Ordered a martini-glass was half full, not cold. Ordered two salads and two entrees- a pasta and a seafood, the waiter was rather confused, had to look at the menu to write down the order, asked to have them split for my elderly mother and myself. There were not split, did not receive a second plate, put my serving on a saucer. Waited for the waiter to come by, he did not, went to the hostess to ask for my table #, she gave me physical directions- I did not need directions... I needed the table # so I could go to the bar and order wine. I did so. A nice gentlemen came by and said the wine would not be on my tab. Dinner was OK, I asked twice for bread, when almost done with the meal, the bread was served-was very good. Finished dinner, waited quite a while again, ordered coffee for my mother, brought the coffee, she said it was cold, but never removed the dinner plates....
Everything was great!
It was Birthday dinner and they were so very accommodating and even gave us a free walnut ball to share!
Was visiting from out of town and it was recommended by a friend. The food was great however service was lacking somewhat. Our waitress came to our section and re-filled the glasses pf the neighboring tables customers who were drinking ice water. But she totally ignored me. This somewhat bothered me considering that she knew I was drinking ice water with my alcoholic drink and food. Other than that we plan to eat there again when visiting the area.
Great neighborhood location. Ample parking and good food as well.
Service was excellent.
The problem with the thanks giving dinner was one of logistics not the food, which under the circumstances was pretty good. The way lines were set up made it somewhat difficult to reach certain items, e.g., the turkey gravy and the roast beef was so out of the way that it could be missed.
One final point, it would have been better if the food was kept warmer.
However, if the above could be addressed my family would certainly consider attending another dinner next Thanksgiving.
Normally we really enjoy Walnut Grill and would recommend it in general. However, I would not recommend it for Thanksgiving. The food was average and they seemed to have a hard time keeping up with the buffet (e.g., keeping it clean, serving utensils out, plates available, etc). Our server was great.
We realize making a large buffet on a holiday with constant seating all day is difficult so I wouldn't factor this into my overall opinion of the restaurant. Go for dinner and order off the menu - not the buffet. Other meals we have had there have been great. Normally I would give it more stars - this rating is based on our experience for the Thanksgiving buffet.
My family and I had Thanksgiving dinner here. The food was extremely disappointing. From the shrimp cocktail being over done and mushy to the selections of sides offered. Very bland. The one good thing was the roast beef. I like mine on the rarer side and was fortunate to get a piece from the center. However my daughter wasn’t so lucky. Her piece was so well done that she didn’t eat it. The most disappointing of all was the desserts. The pies looked and tasted like the frozen pies you buy at the grocery store. Cookies, brownies and little cakes from Costco. Our bill was $156 for four of us. My husband had two beers and I had an espresso martini. What a waste. We will not be back for Thanksgiving. EVER.
We came in for the Thanksgiving buffet with my elderly mother-in-law and my dad who was in a wheelchair. From the moment we were seated we were all treated very well. Our outstanding server Brandy even offered to make a plate for my dad so he would not have to try and get his wheelchair to the line.
The food was excellent; everyone loved the skin on mashed potatoes, augratin potatoes, turkey, prime rib, etc. You even had my favorite dessert of pecan pie!! No one was disappointed and the smoked salmon cakes were an excellent surprise.
Brandy kept our drink glasses full and ALWAYS had a big beautiful smile on her face each and every time she came to our table to check on us.
We have been out to dinner the last 5 years on Thanksgiving; one year at a more expensive priced establishment. This was by far our most favorite and we will be back again next year!
Kudos to the entire team at The Collier Walnut Grille and thank you!!
This was our first family outing at this restaurant. And it was their Thanksgiving buffet. The service was excellent; the table was ready on arrival, the staff was very attentive to the needs of all, the staff assisted each other so that dishes were promptly cleared. I've a very hungry crew. And keeping food on a buffet line and keeping it at temperature are difficult. Walnut Grill did both, and made it look easy. We will definitely be there again.
The restaurant was freezing. The food took forever to come to the table. Finally, 2 meals were brought, but the other 2 guests had to wait even longer. My crab cake was burnt and my vegetable du jour was cold. The frittatas the other guests had looked terrible - dry and over cooked. All my other trips here have been great. Very disappointing.....and the other couple had never been to Walnut Grill before. A bad first impression for them.
