As always amazing food, wonderful service and welcoming atmosphere. Never disappoints.
Great food. Great location. Not our first time. Not our last.
We sat outside on the street and it was really noisy with the cars passing. My salad was good but the french onion soup was not very tasty and the cheese was burnt at the top. Our entrees were Ok. The beef bourguignon was overcooked and the sauce was on the sweet side, a bit sugary. And the food took a long time. The waiter was very nice and brought our wine right away but I have had better french cuisine elsewhere.
La Sen Bistro is a gem of a restaurant.
We had excellent service and a delicious meal, followed by to die for profiteroles!
I highly recommend this sweet little restaurant! Friendly ambience, wonderful service, excellent food!!
Be serious...if I gave a bad rating THEN I might produce 50 words FIVE STARS MEANS WONDERFUL!,
Tried to get into Reve in Lafayette as we were craving French food but they were sold out. La Sen in WC got very good reviews. We had a delightful experience. Alexis, our server, set the fun and comfortable tone. She was welcoming and warm and made menu suggestions that were helpful and not overwhelming. She had a great presence and checked in with us throughout our meal. We appreciated her experience and accommodation very much. Ambiance was a bit bland, but we ate indoors with social distance and figured it was all Covid dynamic. Food was very good. The rack of lamb was excellent. My husband loved the duck. We would definitely go back. Looking forward to a more finished and cozy indoor dining experience with a more intimate feel next time. We appreciated the effort by the chef/kitchen in preparing a high quality dinner. It was a treat to enjoy fine dining close to home on a Friday night.
Great food & service, glad this place made it through covid
The food was delicious. Sadly, it took almost 2 hours for three courses to be served. I experienced this in a previous visit. Excellent food. Bizarrely paced service. The restaurant needs a refresh as well. It seems to have not had an update since it was either a Mexican or Spanish restaurant. Not sure about going back due to the glacial pace of the service I experienced on a relatively quiet night.
Absolutely our favorite place to go for dinner. The waitress is so personable and lovely. The food is to die for and the daily soup special is always a must!!!
Great food and service- thank you!
What a treat to still have a good all-around French restaurant available! An expansive menu touches all the right bases and everything we've had was exquisitely prepared. Reasonable pricing even if the wines seemed pricey.
Great food, good service. Great social distancing between tables, comfortable enough to sit indoors
The food was very good. This was out first time to the Walnut Creek location. Service seemed uneven and apathetic so not sure what was going on there.
We have been to Le Sen many times. This time is no different. We enjoyed the food etc very much. We look forward going there again.
A very good value. All aspects of our dining experience exceeded expectations. We look forward to returning.
Absolutely delicious food impeccably prepared. Scallops were superb. Lamb was expertly cooked. Crème Brûle was outstanding.
Everything was perfect. I don’t have enough superlatives to share!
Their service and their food is always spot on. One of my favorite restaurants.
Food was great but the customer service was lousy. The people there are not very friendly
This restaurant is so amazing, and should get 5 stars, but being greeted by grumpy young man, who made it clear he was annoyed by my request to simply move table away from very windy open door, was not ok...
Our server was amazing, our good delicious, he should not be the host-zero people skills.
It’s too bad, but it would definitely deter us from returning...
And great service. Food was delicious!
Sitting outside was a little noisy because of rude drivers.
We came for Mother's day and this was our first visit to the Walnut Creek branch restaurant. Our meals, as shown in the pictures, was good, just not great. Could be due to emergence from Covid and spinning the waitresses/waiters back up, but service did not seem to be in the best mood. The best part of the meal was dessert. Also, the street noise (not the restaurant's fault) was very off-putting. We could have visited on an off night, but overall, we thought the meal and service was not enough to want to visit again until dining indoors is an option.
Had reservation for 6:30 and seated promptly outdoors. Unknown to us when we made the reservation was there was a band next door playing outside. Between the band and the traffic it made for a noisy evening. Apparently they no longer have a liquor license as they only serve the wine list. The meal came at 7:30 and was good but not up to the past very good meals we have had there and at their prior location in Concord. My meat was overcooked and the vegetables were cold. We both said we would not be coming back in the near future.
La Sen Bistro has excellent French food, very traditional. Seemed the kitchen was a little backed up, they have inside limited and outside as well. But everyone was cheerful and nice. Great duck...good dining experience, will be better when they have more kitchen staff...
La Sen is an excellent family run restaurant with great food and warm service.
The food was great. I will for sure be visiting again
Great food.. a little bit of France in walnut creek. Great service and relaxing atmosphere
Will come back to try another items from menu. Loved the food.
La Sen is one of our favorite restaurants for years. We are glad that it has survived the pandemic. Hopefully it will be fully open for lunch as well in the near future.
Delicious food. Dined outdoors during pandemic.
Great food, but service was super super super slow. Brutally slow. Took us over 2 hours for dinner and we didn’t even order desert bc we had to go back bc if baby sitter. The food was fantastic tho.
Came for mom's bday, per her request.
Years ago we were in France together and she wanted to reconnect with the cuisine...
She didn't know that the lamb shank sauce would be sweet in profile [likely our mistake to not realize] and it was perfectly cooked but she doesn't prefer sweet w. meat dishes.
They did not hesitate to switch out her dish and she was happy with the ratatouille w the yummiest polenta...
Service was excellent, and my halibut was PERFECTLY cooked, seasoned and delicious!
She loved her birthday flourless chocolate cake with gelato --
Thank you for helping to make her 74th bday meal special!
A French restaurant well worth a visit
We had our first ever meal at Le Sen Bistro a few days ago and WOW!
The flavors of each distinct course were amazing. The steak tartare was delicious, the Salade de Confit de Canard had plenty of duck, the Boeuf Bourguignon was delectable and the Apple & Bluberry pastry with french vanilla ice cream superb.
The restaurant is in the heart of Walnut Creek yet a hidden gem.
Well worth a visit and you too will find your new favorite French restaurant.
I've been to La Sen 3 times in 2 weeks and the crab cakes, calamari appetizer, scallops, and the salmon are all wonderful. The merlot wine was delicious.
Great place. Real gem.
Outstanding service and quality of food!
The visit was very nice. The food and service were great.
Never disappoints!!! Food , service, and ambiance even though limited dining due to COVID...Experience is always the best!
I know that when La Sen is able to move back inside it will be a better experience. The food and service are great. The vehicle sound is not their fault-circumstances beyond their control. Some friends and I are going on Apr. 10th to be sure to keep them in business because of good food.
Can’t avoid the noice when you have to sit outside on the street due to pandemic
