I had visited on Wally's several occasions when I was a resident in Indian Wells. The experience was always "top drawer". It have been several years since my last visit. I can only say that, it possible this restaurant has improved. The food, the drinks, the ambiance , and the staff are simply outstanding. There is no pressure to order, but attentive wait staff constantly stop by to insure needs are being met. The rack of lamb and the sea bass were expertly prepared and artfully presented.
A dinner at Wally's is expensive but, well worth it. Great place for occasions where you want to impress.
Three recommendations to assure fine dining:
1 The bar opens into the dining area where there is live music. You may want to request a table away from this area for quiet conversion.
2. While there ample free valet parking, getting into the parking area can be a challenge, particularly in the dark. You may require a trip around the block to find the entrance.
3. By all means reserve early particularly during the "Season" and on weekends.
Wally's has been here for 40 years, and a TERRIFIC delight each and every time we have been over the past thirty years! Always for special occasions and a wonderful night out for a date or foursome or however many! :)
This is one of our favorite spots in Rancho Mirage. The restaurant is pricey, averaging $150 up for two people if you have cocktails and wine, but worth it for that special evening since the food , service , and ambiance is excellent .
Amazing food and service. One can tell from the diners that it is a locals go-to spot for a special occasion. The fresh oyster appetizer was wonderful as were the seafood entrees and the chocolate soufflé. We will return!
Our second time at Wally's was as great as the first! Excellent service and deliciously prepared food exceeded our expectations. We started out with the foils Grass, then a Caesar Salad. I recommend both. The fois bras was cooked, not raw like a pate. The Caesar came with a Parmesan cheese crisp and one crouton. For entrees, I had the Maple Leaf Seared Duck Breast and my husband had the Skillet Sautéed Creekstone New York Steak. For dessert we couldn't pass up the Vahlrona Chocolate Soufflé! I love the swanky atmosphere at Wally's. Thank you for an amazing meal and experience!
This was my first visit to Wally’s, I was however very familiar with the restaurants ‘legendary’ fame. We found the restaurant a true ‘throwback ‘ to those earlier days of the desert which was exactly what we wanted. The atmosphere, personal, and food are definitely ‘old school’ we thought the prices were exceptional good especially considering the quality and preparation of the wood. The wine list was fairly priced with a decent selection of half bottles. I was surprised to get a quality ‘call brand’ martini at a below market price. A great find, unfortunately these restaurants Years are numbered.
Always such a wonderful experience at Wally’s. The food and ambiance is always spectacular.
Filet with crusted horse radish was incredible. Pear tart and chocolate dessert was even better. Wine list has some very affordable excellent cabs. Wait staff was top shelf. Slow greeting and seat at table when all tables were empty is the only thing that keeps this from being our best restaurant experience ever.
FABULOUS IN EVERY RESPECT.
This is a true fine dining restaurant. You walk in and it feels authentically "old school". Many of their staff have been employed there for decades and are outstanding. If you are coming to the valley, this is a MUST. We have dined in many places but this place stands out. This is now our favorite Coachella Valley restaurant and we will bring friends to experience it. The food was amazing but the showstopper is the soufflé. It is definitely worth every penny. Put this restaurant at the top of your must visit list.
