What a disappointment!
This is a beautiful restaurant but our server was pushy, our meals were nothing special, the portions are too big and the saxophonist was great but it seemed he was on break most of the time ! Too expensive for what we got !
Went with a girlfriend to celebrate our birthdays a few days apart. We sat in the bar area, and were going to have appetisers and a glass of wine from Wallys happy hour menu. We saw the special 3 course meal menu they have at the moment for 36.00. They serve this only in the bar area. So we tried it. We were thoroughly happy with what we chose, chicken for me, Scottish Salmon for my girlfriend, great appys to start and great dessert to finish. So impressed with the decor, very glamorous! The singer was excellent, very talented. Only very small criticism, our server a little brisk, other than that a lovely evening. This is a really stand out restaurant. Have been with my husband a few times, always leaves a lovely impression!
Delicious food, perfect service and ambiance, and good music. This is a perfect restaurant to have conversations with friends.
I love this restaurant!
Always a must place to dine. The most elegant with old Hollywood feel!
This is a great spot for a special occasion.
A little pricey, but worth every penny
Wally's is such an elegant, beautiful restaurant. The Dover Sole is the house specialty and cooked to perfection. Such a delicacy... The salads were delicious as were the chocolate soufflés. I highly recommend this restaurant. But hurry, this is their final season as the Botello family is retiring and the restaurant is for sale.
I celebrated another Birthday at Wally’s. Outstanding service - with outstanding food. They never let you down. We Have been going there since 1988.
We had another great time at Wally’s. Food was great, and I really enjoyed the live saxophone player that night. Our friend raves about the Brandy Alexander for dessert. We had carrot cake, which was good but not traditional with copious amounts of cream cheese frosting. Depends how much frosting is the right amount, I guess.
Outstanding food & service
We sat in the bar for the Happy Hour menu. It was very nice, and our waiter, David was welcoming and friendly. It is on the pricey side, even with the Happy Hour menu, but for a special occasion, it is good. The dining area is beautiful, and the food served looked very delicious, but we wanted a simpler evening before we went to the theater that evening, which is why we stayed in the bar area.
Food was wonderful, great ambiance, never rushed, received full attention from service staff. Was presented with shared Desert as it was our anniversary. A “must” go to dining experience.
Wally’s Desert Turtle is among the finest restaurants in the greater Palm Springs area. Food, service, ambiance all superb. Elegant but staff makes it fun and enjoyable, not stuffy. Number One in our book.
Best meal perhaps ever! Service great. Worth every penny.
Excellent from start to finish! Our first time there, and we can’t wait to go back.
We went for Restaurant week Palm Desert. The since we did the special menu the price for what you got was good. We also ordered a bottle of wine for a table of 4. Our server was nice but seemed like he was not as interested in making sure our experience was as good as other tables. He never came over to see what we would like to drink, we had to order our wine when he came to take our food order. After the food came out he never came to see how things were. He poured out the last of the wine and never asked if we wanted another bottle. Which we would have ordered another but the way he was serving us made me not want to spend more. When desert came he never came over to ask if we wanted coffee or anything else to drink since our wine was done. The appetizers and dessert were delicious but the entree was not. It seemed as if two different kitchens made the dishes. Three of us had a steak w/ mashed potato n Veg. The dish seemed very banquet style food. Overall not a good experience. I didn’t leave Wally’s wanting to go back and try more food. I do think if the waiter was better then I may possibly give it another try. But having mediocre service and ok food has put me off.
Fine dining and excellant all around! If we had a suggestion our waiter JB needs skilled training as this is not s cafeteria this a fine dining experience and he should learn better grammar and communication.
Wally's did an outstanding job on the Restaurant Week selections. All four of us loved our meals, the service, and especially the souffles!
Very enjoyable dinner. The service was excellent and staff was extremely friendly. Planning to go back when the restaurant opens again next season.
Fun fancy ambiance! Delicious and great service!
Wally's was always one of our favorite restaurants. Now we may never go back. I made reservations over a week in advance and we were given one of the worst tables in the restaurant. The service was fair but for Wally's past standards it was awful. They brought us the wrong sauce for our Dover Sole and we waited forever for the entree. The manager didn't charge us for the main course but that didn't chage the fact that it was a terrible experience. I hope it was a one time thing but it will be difficult for me to get up the courage to return. Appears to be a huge turnover in the wait staff.
Dined as a part of Dine Palm Springs and selected from those menus. Good variety of choices and wonderful food
Old school dining in the desert. Opulent decor is a little shabby but at our age we can't see the worn carpets normally. Waiters are friendly but forgetful. Mixed up our drink orders and dinner orders, but we just switched them back to who ordered what. Food was great and that's what's important.
Excellent service, great food and quintessential old school desert experience
Everything was first class, 5 star! From the enthusiastic greeting by the valet, the hostess and then our professional and friendly waitstaff, the most delicious meal and incredibly delicious soufflés, to most sincere thank yous for coming, we were spoiled, wined and dined to perfection, and loved every minute of it. We are now customers for life. Thank you!
Wally’s is Always an enjoyable restaurant for dinner. The music, Ambience and food are superb. The wait staff is very attentive. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Always a great experience! Restaurant Week menu was wonderful, loved the 2 options.
Great food and impeccable service. Very “old school” in their treatment of their customers. I would definitely return.
Everything about our experoence at Wally’s was superb!
Wow,outstanding. I wonder why I didn’t come sooner. Service is impeccable and the food is amazing. Loved the Salmon and the profiteroles! Hurry to Wally’s for a great experience.
An exceptional experience on all levels. Extraordinary ambiance. Lush decor. Dramatic architecture. Beautiful plating of every dish, perfection in flavors and textures. An amazing find and the highlight of three years of Restaurant Week. Pricey, but well worth every cent. Do not deny yourself this experience!
Service was impeccable. It was restaurant week so a good time to come back and try Wally’s. Wow. We’ll be back. Great food. Fun atmosphere.
Wonderful food and service. Ruben our server was excellent. A special anniversary treat for number 57! Thanks all.
Wally's is a wonderful restaurant that is a throwback to when dining out really meant dining.
Their food is always perfect, and the staff go above and beyond to treat you like royalty. We make it a point to go every year for restaurant week. And always get the souffle, which is well worth it!
We had a delicious and delightful evening!!
the beef was awesome, and the deserts were the best
This is one of 3 five star restaurants in the desert that we go to on special occasions. We have celebrated special birthdays, anniversaries and this time took advantage of restaurant week. There were 6 of us and all raved about their salad, entree and desert. I had the braised short ribs which were the best I have had in many years. I usually have the rack of lamb but decided to try something different. The ambience is like old world dining that we were used to years ago in the big cities we have lived in. We love Wally's and they never disappoint.
We were delighted that Wally's offered a special Restaurant Week dinner. A tremendous value at $39pp. A marvelous night out with impeccable service; wonderful food; a fine bar and an upscale atmosphere that made our dinner special indeed.
Ambiance service and food first rate love it will fo again.
