Wallflower Ratings and Reviews
Another fantastic meal in this local spot! Small menu but everything is excellent, plus 5 star mixology... (just be very clear/specific if you're ordering any cocktails off menu)! Service is almost always amazing and friendly - but occasionally a little rigid for the relaxed atmosphere of this neighborhood favorite.
Treat yourself to the banana bread - you deserve it!!
I am a small eater. Everyone I eat with notice I only get a main dish which I often can't finish. Small eater. But I ordered a main dish at $28 that was the size of a decent appetizer. I could count the gnocchi in the dish, it was that small. That said the food was delicious, very flavorful. I just wish there was more. In addition the restaurant is small so there is no lingering and the waitstaff actually got a little annoying asking us one too many times if everything was okay and moving us along.
I was looking for a restaurant to take my boyfriend for a special birthday meal - we are frequent diners at The Eddy, and when we found out it had a sister restaurant with a tasting menu/"Cook for you" option, we were sold! The whole experience was very special. The ambiance, service, wine, and appetizers were our favorite aspects of the meal. We also both have significant food allergies, but were still able to get the tasting menu and be accommodated. It could have been a little quieter (we were seated next to a rowdy double-date group). Our tasting menu included the hummus deviled eggs, which were divine, and a steak as the main course, which could have been less salty and less fatty. We got the wine pairing, and the wine kept on coming, which was great! Overall, we are definitely going back again, and having the deviled eggs and Gruner.
Small, cozy, quiet place for dinner. I was a bit disappointed, though. I found the chairs so VERY uncomfortable it actually interfered with the enjoyment of my meal. In addition, I found my dish, Gnocchi, Marguez Lamb Piperade, Pecorino, Herbs, remarkably tasty: the gnocchi cooked to perfection on a delicious, rich sauce. Sadly it was too salty...
We were very impressed and very happy with our dinner here - the service was flawless and friendly - the good was great - very fresh and amazing - the cocktails were brilliant - we really enjoyed our dinner here and will be back for sure
Took my fiance here for date night and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. The cocktails were amazing and our waiter really took time to give us a dining experience, choosing cocktails based on our preferences. We had the steak oscar special and the short ribs gnocchi, both outstanding and perfectly portioned. We will definitely be returning when we have another special occasion to celebrate.
The best part of the meal was the burger [$24] and the oysters. The service was friendly but slow [?due to the kitchen]? Portions of appetizer and pasta [$26 for half of a small dish] were minuscule. Interesting menu but doubt we be back.
What a FABULOUS surprise. A little gem with inventive menu and amazinf food. I went with my friend the critical foodie and he didn't complain about anything. The honeydew gazpacho and steak carpaccio are MUSTS as is the corn cake
On our past two trips to NYC we ate here. Hesitant to tell people how great it is because we don't want it to change. Exquisite attention to detail from the food, presentation, service, to the sparkling glasses. We enjoyed one delicious course after another to end with a panna cotta and blackberries that was sublime in its simplicity.
thought the food was great, cozy ambiance, service was great (our server was so patient with us being so slow to order drinks, then food, then dessert, because we were so caught up in conversation the entire night), would definitely go back to try more dishes. prices are fair for nyc and a cute place in the west village but it's not a bargain. totally worth it if you're looking for a really good meal in an intimate restaurant with good cocktails and awesome crab fondue!
So we really feel that the food and value was the main problem 75 for a price fixe that seemed to, when you calculate the regular pricing here, to be over priced. Also cold food and sauces meat overcooked. Doesn't make much sense when the restaurant is mostly empty and the menu is limited. The service was good and atmosphere nice albeit a very small place. notable great dishes tuna tartar and the deserts. maybe come for happy hour and get the tartar and a desert.
