Very comfortable space with roaring fire. Food is always very good and often quite inventive. I had a pasta special with clams they had personally dug that morning and with pasta they had made with their new past maker. Simple dish, but delicious! My wife had a more complex salmon dish served with fruit and hominy.

We live locally and have gone to many restaurants in the area. We find we like some for awhile, but then we tire of them... not Walker's! We have been a number of times and it has always been great!

This is the second time I have had this situation where they allow very young children in the restaurant. i assume that reserving a table in a bar avoids that. They, and we, would be more comfortable if they went to somewhere not so upscale. We always had baby sitters and so I don't want to become one. Bad move. Also, just automatically put sold and pepper on the table so food does not get cold while chasing down the server. Offering ground pepper is kind of normal and good idea too

Cauliflower appetizer was delicious. Loved the passion fruit margarita. Service was perfect. Everything was enjoyable, but the things mentioned were standouts.

My husband and I recently had dinner at Walker's Restaurant in York Maine. We pass by every day and just stopped in on a whim, and we were very impressed. We will be stopping in a whole lot more!!! The meal from start to finish was spectacular! Can't believe we didn't go their sooner. Awesome food and service.

As always, we had a wonderfully delicious meal at Walkers. They made several changes in the menu. We tried the endive salad, the salmon belly, and the black bass entree--all of which were fabulous. We ordered Manhattans instead of our usual bottle of wine. They used Gunpowder rye. We wish we were capable of handling another cocktail as it was so delicious. I cannot wait to go back to try the other new items on the menu.

We loved everything about our experience! The French onion soup was delicious and we loved our entrees too. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable too! Great spot!

I thought the restaurant interior was beautifully designed and loved the cozy feel ! We were greeted by the hostess and seated immediately Our waitress was friendly and informative about the menu along with the nightly specials She provided excellent service and had attention to detail. The quality food was excellent however I feel that it was a bit too exotic for me ! I had ordered a broccoli slaw salad with A very tasty green goddess dressing however it was a lot of chewing I was getting tired halfway through eating it. ! For the main entrée I ordered the salmon it was served on a glass salad plate and it was a balancing act of trying to keeping my two sides from falling off the plate ! on one side there was the ribbon pickled cucumber and on the other side was the shredded radish! I should’ve asked what the sides were however they were both served cold and the salmon was in the middle. It was an accomplishment to keep it all on the plate ! There was a side bowl of Ramen noodles mixed with a Green Japanese pepper. That was served cold as well I may have not minded all this cold food if it was summertime however I am a typical New Englander and I like my food hot my husband ordered a French onion soup which I had a bite of it was delicious and he had for his main entrée the short rib. His food was piping hot he did feel that the short rib was a little stringy though. I should’ve asked more questions about the menu, for me I prefer a more traditional fare, so I won’t be back.

Another spectacular evening at Walkers! Everything was flawless - from the comfortable atmosphere, attentive (and kind) staff, and AMAZING food and drinks. Walkers is our go-to and we love bringing family and friends for a guaranteed wonderful evening.

Pleasant attentive staff beginning at the front desk throughout the evening.
Food was coursed appropriately, arrived hot and was prepared as described on the menu. My only critique is,,, in Maine there should be lobster on the menu and Maine (red shrimp) shrimp seasonally.. I ordered red shrimp and was served gulf shrimp :(.
I would have also liked to see more expensive cuts of beef, perhaps as specials.

Otherwise the experience and food were excellent. I’m looking forward to returning.

Our waitress, while we didn’t get her name (table next to fire place) was exceptional. She was knowledgeable on all food and wine. Her descriptions were spot on! She also didn’t hesitate when we asked to decant our bottle of wine.

Drove the 53 miles to this restaurant and it was worth every mile! I saw that the Lobster I had gone for wasn't on the menu, but when the chef was asked he cooked one for me and it was extraordinary! One of the best lobster dishes I have ever had.
It made for a fabulous Valentine's day! Thank you!

It was a very busy Valentines Night but the experience was wonderful. Table and ambiance were great! Servers, although a bit serious and pensive, were efficient and thorough. Both appetizers, Onion soup and mussels were outstanding! Entrees were beautiful, hot, and extremely satisfying. Smoked duck and duck gnocchi. Desserts were average but didn’t affect the overall experience one bit! Nice Job and I will be back!

Walkers Maine is a "style," in terms of menu and atmosphere. The food is good, thought extremely rich. As a farm-to-table experience, I prefer simpler preparation. The dining room is a bit on the cavernous side. Having poked our heads into the pub, we would most certainly ask to be seated there, next time. And there is likely to be a next time.

Our dinner experience was mixed to say the least.  We had higher expectations based upon recent reviews (Trip Advisor, Yelp, and Open Table) . 

Here's the good: The pumpkin fries appetizer was delicious and surprisingly not  heavy. My aged smoked duck was very tender with a slightly smokey flavor and crispy skin. I also enjoyed my cocktail that was infused charred scotch bonnet peppers

Here's the bad: My wife had the Ricotta Gnudi which was completely missing the Gnudi dumplings. It was instead a mush of Ricotta and squash. Awful. The worst plate was our blueberry cobbler dessert. It was extremely salty (tasted like pure baking soda)  and was inedible. I can't remember getting a dessert that we couldn't eat. We sent it back, which we hardly ever do. The waitress said something was off in the recipe (or execution) and removed it from our bill. 

We'd be willing to give Walker's another try in the future, but this experience didn't live up to our expectations.

Walkers is one of my favorite restaurants. The atmosphere is warm and elegant. The build out is beautiful... A main dining area with couches and a fireplace in the middle, a partially open kitchen and an additional room that has both clear glass and translucent glass. They also have a beautiful bar. Even the dishware is unique... it's old style but somehow has a modern flair. The menu is always changing with some unique selections along with some repeat dishes. The menu isn't too large so you know each selection is done to perfection. We started with the Bangs Island Mussels which had bacon, cream, a poblano aioli, fresh horseradish and frites (which is basically delicious french fries.) We were practically drinking the broth! We had brussels sprouts that were roasted on the stalk and were amazing. Our dinners were unbelievable as well. My husband had the "Smash" burger which I think is the best burger I've ever tasted! For dessert, of course we had the warm donuts and ice cream! You cannot go to Walkers and not try them. Out of the this world. If you're looking for a special dinner with amazing food, atmosphere and service, this is your place!

We were really hungry and ordered appetizers before entrees, and our server told us we had to order everything at once which was really off putting. Because of that, we felt rushed and I didn’t fully look over the menu. Also, we didn’t know how hungry we were going to be after our appetizers. Our server also did not have much personality and did not smile. The young girl who gave us our water was more helpful about the menu and friendlier than our server.
I understand it was a slow night and people were looking for things to do, but when we still had some bites left of our appetizers we felt swarmed by people asking if we were finished, and once again we felt rushed.
We are all servers, and have a lot of sympathy for the work that people do, but for the amount of money we spent, the service was not at the level we paid for.

This was our second visit to Walker's Maine. We were very pleased with our meals overall. My husband ordered the cod and was less thrilled than I was with my fire-roasted lobster which was incredible.
The biggest miss were the mussels---we were pretty sure they were not PEI mussels as they were minuscule in size. Every time I've ordered PEI mussels anywhere, they have been large and meaty.
My husband also works for a seafood company in sales right here in Maine and while they tasted great...it was a small bite, for sure, due to the very small size of each mussel.
Very attentive and pleasant service. We had a nice, quiet table off the main dining room.
We started with the Fire Shrimp and Mussels and then moved to the Ricotta Gnudi which we both agreed we could have eaten an entire bowl of as an entree. Talented chef. Small miss on the mussels but he should work with his fishmonger on this issue. We'll return and will recommend to friends!
