Open Wednesday-Monday beginning at 5pm
7 days a week from Memorial Day to Labor Day
Located on Route 1 in Cape Neddick (4 miles south of Oqunquit, 4 miles north of York).
We really want to like this place but it is very inconsistent. On average, the food is okay and service is spotty. Don’t be surprise to find yourself seated for 30 minutes with only water on the table. Also baffling with this place is that you can tell the ingredients are great quality but they somehow make the dishes pedestrian.
Amazing food and ambiance. Our server was JoAnn, who was attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu, but the entire waitstaff ensured we had a memorable experience. We were able to enjoy desser and coffee by the roaring fire and relaxed in an atmosphere where we felt like long lost friends. Definitely returning to this gem!
We've been before, and every time is a treat. Beautiful place, friendly atmosphere, an attitude that they've really thought things out. And the food is very good. We don't usually have desert, but we had a chocolate desert that was just incredible.
Amazing food and drinks a must visit in the York area
Food was creatively put together and beautifully presented. A wonderful meal in a wonderful setting. Thanks to all who make it so!
Our first visit and our server was delightful and very helpful with helping with food choices. Able to chat with chief/owner while looking at their wood fired grill. Will recommend for sure.
GREAT, as always!!! The food, service and atmosphere make for a wonderful experience...time and time again.
We've been to Walkers 4 times previously and always had a great experience. On this occasion however, we were disappointed with the food and preparation. My Pork Chop was over salted, tough on the outer edges and barely rare in the inner portions. My wife's beef brochette was rare to border line raw, and was also over seasoned. Also the availability of wines on the list was limited as they had not stocked up because they are heading on 3 week vacation next week. Pretty poor excuse for not keeping your eye on the ball with food quality, wine list and overall experience.
Seriously one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time, perfection!!
Intricate menu, well explained by servver. HUGE portions! Really could do two appetizers easily.
Nice ambience near fireplace. Somewhat pricey but very tasty.
This was our second visit and everything was amazing. Job well done
Belated Valentine’s Day celebration. Food was excellent but drinks took a while to get that is our only complaint. They were finely crafted though so that may be why.
Impressive! That is what my husband said as we were leaving. 2nd visit here and just as fabulous as the 1st. Tried the chicken and salmon this time, both outstanding. The roasted cauliflower was as delicious as the 1st visit. And the donuts...no words can describe.
The dining area is very crowded and loud. Food request was not honored.
Great food and the drinks were amazing. Full restaurant on a Friday night. Reservations recommended.
Excellent, as always. Our favorite spot for a night out.
Very nice place. Great service and food is amazing!
Delicious cocktails, great beer interesting and amazing appetizers, perfectly executed entrees. Best place to eat anything in New England period.
Beautifully done restaurant opened less than a year ago. Furnishings include the work of local craftsmen. The food is excellent and service is attentive. We went on a busy evening, Valentines Day, and parking at the restaurant was a challenge. You can pull up to the door to drop people off.
Loved the food on our first visit. Did not like it this time. Should have had more special for the holiday. Service was ok. All business no personality. Probably won’t go back and we live in York.
Celebrated my husbands birthday there, greeted with a "happy birthday" and a complimentary prosecco to end the night. Food, service and atmosphere is top notch...loved it!
This establishment never disappoints! There's inventive dishes coming out of Justin Walker's open kitchen. Butternut squash fries under snacks is addictive. Hake with brown butter (I'm already craving this) a standout! Service was spot on! A bit noisy, but in some ways a blessing since the lack of conversation allowed me to enjoy the flavors more.
Great innovative menu and wine list. We sat in the bigger dining room this time and love the cozy fire and friendly vibe. Fun date night out with hubby
Lighting could be improved. I wear glasses for reading and I had a difficult time reading your menu or possibly changing the menu so that it is easy to read.
Waited 20 minutes after being seated for a waitress to show up. Observed several waitstaff hanging around talking. Only four other tables occupied. Ribeye steak and a cold baked potato for $40. No vegetables. They did comp our drinks glass of wine and Jack Daniels and soda. Asked me if I wanted a lime with the JD and soda and I said yes. No lime. Many other restaurants available in the area.
Excellent combination of flavors and unique ingredients. Also great that so much of the food is fresh from local sources!
Both my husband and I had the ribeye steak. $40.00 each. It was full of fat and little meat. Took it home for our dogs. The donuts were great and the grilled cauliflower was delicious. Had two cosmos. It was obvious same person did not make them.
Repeat customer and will continue to dine here. Great service, atmosphere, vibe, and some of the best food I've had. One of the top restaurants on my list, and I dine often...
Service was exemplary. Attention to detail with antique dishes to silverware and serving utensils for shared plates was the best we have seen. Spacing of dishes was appropriate, wine and beer selection was excellent and food was exceptional. Overall experience was fantastic. We will return again when we are in the area.
The six of us sat in the cozy round table in the corner. We were able to have wonderful conversation and food while being treated very well by all of the staff.
I have had the duck and the hake, both delicious.
I highly recommend trying Walker’s!
I had been hearing rave reviews about Walkers since they opened but only just recently visited. The accolades could not do this place justice! The decor was breathtaking and our dining niche was comfortable and spacious, though it was noticeably chilly by the window. The food was sensational and we received expert recommendations from our server. Don't skip those squash fries, we devoured every morsel!
There was a table of obnoxiously loud patrons close by which made it nearly impossible to hear our server when we first sat down, they thankfully left soon after we arrived and we were able to better enjoy our meal. No fault of the restaurant, but just commenting that it can be loud. Service is efficient though it took longer than expected to be greeted and for our drink and appetizer order to go in.
Based on the food and atmosphere alone we will gladly be returning. Looking forward to going back and trying more of their fabulous menu!
We were a party of 8 for a friend's special birthday. We were seated promptly and welcomed by the owner and our server. He was friendly and attentive. The service and food were outstanding. We loved the "French service" where all plates are placed together and cleared together. It made us feel special. They were very accommodating in letting us bring our birthday cake for our gluten-free, dairy-free birthday girl. We will definitely be back.
A wonderfully creative menu and friendly attentive service in a warm casual atmosphere.
We went for a birthday and had the most wonderful time. Low key and great wait person Cassandra. The food exceeded our expectations and drinks were outstanding. Love those lemon drop martinis and ingredients were fresh! Have recently recommended to friends that they too might enjoy the experience. Looking forward to pumpkin fries this coming fall. Yummy!!!
Wonderful he relaxing excellent wine selection impeccable service and delicious food time and time again
Amazing menu - this farm to table restaurant has a most creative chef. Everything was mouthwatering and delicious. Esp. loved the beet martini. Only draw back was the know it all waitress who tried to us out of ordering how we wanted to. Don't judge a book I always say. Just because we were casually dressed and with our kids at 20 years old doesn't mean we don't understand fine dining and creative cuisine.
That said - this was our third time there, and really loved the food and the ambience.
Walkers Maine was so Fabulous! We had an amazing dinner there last Thursday night, we loved our waitress Joanne, she was a gem! I had a hard time choosing what to order- I literally wanted to try everything- we ordered so much and had the leftovers for breakfast the next morning- it was seriously that incredible! We can't wait to go back. The fireplace, servers, food and general ambiance was just terrific. There is a lot of good food in the Southern Maine- Portsmouth NH area but this is a big step beyond all the rest.
The food was very good, however, we would suggest that the wait staff provide prices of specials when reviewing them with customers. The bar area where we sat was very loud, making it impossible to have a quiet conversation or hear the wait staff! The tuna appetizer was amazing, as was the duck and the chocolate torte!
Everything was wonderful from start to finish! I especially enjoyed the scallion pancakes and the smoky negroni.
Food was delicious and fresh. Service was excellent too. Looking forward to going back.
