Our big oven is the heart of our kitchen, creating rhythmic southern inspirations of love. From the crunch of our fried chicken to the sugary glaze of our cinnamon buns, Walker's Exchange is an American Brasserie serving all the substantials and delicacies of our fair city.

OMG! what a selection of food and all was amazing!! really great brunch!!! I'll be back!
Great burger and fries!
I had the wedge and an order of calamari. Loved the wedge. Romaine was very fresh.
Menu online showed some limited menu selections in addition to the Brunch Buffet. Disappointed to learn this was only available before 11 a.m. for breakfast. Lunch menu not available - only $29/pp Brunch at 11:30 when we were dining. Excellent choices and delicious food, but more than we were wanting for Pre-Theater lunch.
Terrible service and mediocre food. I had high hopes but was greatly disappointed!
When I made reservations, I thought they were in the former Rivue tower on the top floor of the Salt house. Turns out, they are on the second floor in the former Fountain Room. Renovations are beautiful, though I would have preferred a cushioned seat rather than an unpadded wood chair. Otherwise, I was very pleased with food and service. Shrimp and grits were delicious, topped with a perfectly fried egg. My friend had the Mac and cheese, very cheesy and huge portion. Took at least half home! Impressed that they validated parking. Try it, you will enjoy!
I had the blackened salmon which was wonderful! Be sure to try their version of Irish Coffee!
Great burger! Double stacked!
I was so excited to try this place on NYE, but both my fiancé and I were terribly disappointed. The drinks were good, but the food was mediocre at best, and way overpriced for what you get. The grilled bacon dish was just very thick (like 1/2") fat that was tossed on the grill for a second and served with apple butter. The steak frites was chewy and greasy, and the beer can chicken was under cooked. The atmosphere looks online to be modern and beautiful, but in reality is just a hotel restaurant - feels a bit like a cafeteria. We will definitely not return. So disappointed.
Best food for the value! Will be back there again!
Stopped in for a bite after a UL basketball game. We liked the atmosphere and received nice service. We shared a pizza which was good. We’ll go back again.
We do Christmas brunch every year last year was the rivue at the Galt house.. it’s not there anymore but the walker in it’s place was exceptionally good. The chefs and staff were on point will your needs. Loved the atmosphere with friendly staff. The only thing we missed was the omelet and hot cake station. Chicken and waffles were good also.
We had our Christmas dinner here. Bright new décor in this space in the Galt House is vastly improved from the dark antiquated look it used to have. The space is very large and open. The buffet space is also very open and encourages good traffic flow around the serving tables. With a few exceptions the buffet fare was very good. Our biggest complaint believe it or not is that some of the chairs are extremely uncomfortable as the back support digs into the back in a painful way. Fortunately, all of their chairs are a mix-and-match of different styles so we asked to switch ours out for more comfortable ones. Our server was attentive but extremely hard to understand due to a heavy accent. All that said I will probably visit them again on a non-holiday occasion to see how their food is on the menu.
We went for Christmas brunch. The venue is lovely. The food was extremely salty. Our server was absolutely wonderful but for $45 I would have liked to enjoy my food. There was no omelet station, waffles, nothing cooked to order. The Galt House used to have a wonderful brunch. I’m not sure why they changed to this restaurant because it was certainly a mistake. I don’t think I will go back.
Christmas buffet was pitiful in so many respects I can’t list them all. Won’t go back.
Walker’s Exchange is an exciting new restaurant in downtown Louisville. We were there for Brunch and the food was fantastic. The buffet is huge with a lot of variety. The ambiance was really relaxing and the view of the Belvedere makes me look forward to having a glass of wine outside along with a pizza or something else off the menu.
I have been there for lunch and dinner as well and have been really impressed with everything they do.
We had a wonderful experience on Christmas day. The food was amazing!!!!
We were a party of four and have been coming for Christmas Brunch for years.
This year was outstanding and the food was great, and the decorations were all done so well.
I tried to schedule for Christmas Brunch 2020, but told it was too early. You can rest assured we will call in October.
The service was average at best from checking in to the wait staff. We had to send two items back. The food is overpriced equality.
Ambiance and location are nice-but service was very slow (on a not busy night) and food was mediocre at best. Love the new look and feel the Galt House/this new restaurant is going for but this experience was very underwhelming. Won’t be back.
Food was terrible. Couldn’t eat the oysters Rockefeller and was still charged for them. Never again!
30 minutes to receive drinks “because bar is very busy”. Food was greasy spoon quality. Manager did comp food, but it did not make up for poor experience of my 7 guests. Stay away.
Our server was very pleasant, but the actual service was awful. It took us 20 minutes to get a drink, and when the drinks arrived, they didn't have the proper garnishment with them. Food also was cold upon arrival. Overall, we were very disappointed with the restaurant.
Limited menu, food average, no atmosphere. Service was adequate.
Food was good, but service was beyond terrible: forgot drink orders, didn’t tell us they were out of certain menu items, then delivered partial entrees missing those items, and we waited 20 minutes (after asking three times) to get our checks. Manager comped our entire check. We were there almost two full hours. I would not recommend this place based on service alone.
Service was very slow. We waited nearly 20 minutes for cocktails.
The food was served by additional staff, thank goodness, and it was served hot.
Food was very good. We will return.
Really great looking space. Clean and bright. Modern design with farm house touches. Menu had a good mix of dishes. I tried the burger and my friend had a pizza. Both we’re winners. The burger was a double decker with cheese. Hot off the grill and gooey. The pizza was beautiful. Wood fired in an oven next to my table. Pretty cool. I’ll be back.
Service was terrible. The food for our table was either cold or wrong. No one had a complicated order. Everything was straight if the menu. Sides included for 2 meals were truffle fries we got regular fries. The crab mac an cheese had zero crab. It was a $30 skillet of Mac and cheese. We ordered a couple rounds of drinks it took 30+ minutes to get them. All around terrible experience.
Service and food were excellent! Our server, Amanda, was great, personality plus and also very familiar with the menu. Her recommendations were spot on!! We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Louisville.
We enjoyed having Thanksgiving There! John was an awesome waiter!
This is the second year eating at the Galt House, it is worth the money. No stress of cooking, just enjoying excellent food and having conversations with family and friends.
Good smash burger. Friendly service. Went after game to eat and wait for traffic to dissipate. We’ll be back.
We should have waited before trying Walker's Exchange a few weeks after their opening. Our poor waitstaff person was overwhelmed and very nervous. It took 30 minutes before we finally received water. There is no bar in the dining area; drinks take time to be delivered. Wines by the glass are poured in the back of the space, away from the customer. The pour arrives in a small decanter and is then poured into one's wine glass. I prefer to see the actual bottle. FYI the pours are on the small side, but the prices per glass are not. The trek to and from the wine pouring area is time consuming for the staff as is the trek to and from the dishwashing area. The waitstaff must walk miles during an average service. Per the PR for this restaurant, the intent is to make it a destination restaurant. Much improvement needs to take place!
Service was fantastic! Carl was friendly and efficient. Food was delicious. I love the French Toast and Biscuits and Gravy on the buffet.
Great burger! Pizzas are also fabulous. Desserts just ok. Server was super friendly and knowledgeable
Dinner started off ok, the server was very nice and personable. I ordered a vodka martini with a twist and the brought out a highball glass with a lime peel in it. The server quickly took it back and then brought me a martini which tasted ok. The steak wasn’t very warm when the entrees came out. Then as we were leaving they said they didn’t have any more stickers to validate the parking. We needed to go to the front desk. Then they called the restaurant a few times confused about the situation. Then they told us they didn’t cover valet which they told us they did when we called the restaurant earlier that evening. Finally they told us they would pay for it and 30 min later after dealing with the valet mess we were glad to get out of there. I don’t think I’ll ever go back there.
I'm not sure what was more disappointing, the drinks, the food or the service...Our party of four waited over 30 minutes just to receive our drinks , which the waitress blamed on the bar getting "slammed". With only 1 other two-top table in the entire restaurant I'm not sure how it was possible the bar was so busy. I ordered an old fashioned which tasted and looked more like half an ounce of bourbon with 5 ounces of water. The meal also left much to be desired. We ordered the shrimp and grits, lobster mac n cheese, pizzas and multiple apps each which each was more disappointing than the one before it. Our waitress was so disengaged we had to go up to the hostess three times throughout the meal to check on our food, drinks, and for silverware. Although the space has been updated somewhat I would have expected a lot more from a restaurant that shares a space with the historic Galt House.
New restaurant with some growing pains. Food was phenomenal.
Portions were small. Prices were high. Ordered Tito’s martini. Came with lots of vermouth. And was not Tito’s. They do not have Tito’s, hence the vermouth. Will not go back. Too many other good choices
It’s new so I’m sure they are trying to work out the kinks. Not happy with my meal, just not good and overpriced for the portion.
