It allowed me to make a reservation, I made the long walk to find the restaurant closed!!
First of all, Walker Exchange is not open due to Covid. Open plate showed they were open or we would have never gone had we known that information beforehand. We were escorted in the bar where there is a limited menu supplied by Walker Exchange. We ordered the steak medium rare and it was like chewing on a piece of raw hide. The brussels sprouts and fingerling potatoes were tasty. The service was less than adequate and the servers uniforms were dingy and they all looked dirty. The staff all wore face masks and gloves so that was a plus! Definatley would not recommend especially on a date, unless of course you are less impressed with the company.
Delicious food, reasonably priced. Super convenient if you are staying at the Galt House.
Tough situation with COVID-19 precautions in place. Menu seemed limited, but service was very good. Food was excellent.
Victoria and Chef Lee were very kind to us. It was our anniversary. The food was great and the dessert was awesome! I would tell anyone to stop in there for a great dinner.
Very quiet, staff was friendly and attentive. Food was delicious. Very clean.
Excellent! We will revisit in the future. Food was great.
Great burger for Burger Week. We liked the Walker sauce on the burgers. Victoria was friendly. Lot of gloves, sanitizer, and masks. Saw staff change gloves. Clients distanced far apart. Outdoor seating. Great experience in these times. Will be back!
A special birthday dinner! Delicious 1/2 chicken and cauliflower with Marcona almonds. My husband enjoyed his braised salmon, and my daughter enjoyed her salmon with greens & grits. To top it all off, they brought us a Derby Pie sundae, which was scrumptious! We felt safe with the environment and the server did a great job!
The food was good and but a little pricey but expected that
I had the crab cakes and they were excellent-tender, flaky and the sauce was amazing. Their calamari is the best!
Excellent service, nice atmosphere and good food. They were following Covid precautions and I felt safe.
Very beautiful elegant restaurant. My birthday dinner was amazing food was good drinks was on point. Overall first time at Walker Exchange and will be going back
Great atmosphere, but would like to see some better choices on the menu
So impressed with the experience at Walkers. I called and asked a few questions the day before our reservation. Rachel was so kind and helpful. I was able to see photos of the outdoor seating and confirm where to park. On the Saturday of our reservation, we were seated outside and the outdoor seating area is perfect; protected from the sun and shaded. All it needs is some outdoor string lighting to improve the appearance, but no complaints! This is the best outdoor dining experience I’ve had since restaurants resumed service after closing for the pandemic. The restaurant and obviously the guests’ safety and comfort is the priority, which I appreciated! Our server, Angie, was very knowledgeable and allowed me to sub my side. She provided excellent service, we never had to ask for anything. The food was PHENOMENAL. We loved every single dish; the salmon and Brussels were excellent and the vinegar slaw was especially good. We highly recommend the crab cakes and greens too! Just WOW. Walkers is now on my “go to” list! A++++++
The restaurant was beautiful. The food was amazing. I had the Grilled Bacon and Cheese with the chips. Delicious. I will definitely go back the next time I’m at the Galt House.
The service was personable and knowledgeable. The food on the other hand, was average. My flank steak was perfectly cooked and flavored nicely, but came out luke warm. The salmon was done nicely, but the greens were very salty. The mussels appetizer was good with a ton of mussels. Overall, it was a good experience.
A friend and I went to Sunday brunch at Walker’s Exchange and had the buffet. I can confidently say the food was some of the best buffet food I’ve ever had. We were there right when the line opened at 11, so everything was fresh and hot and delicious. There were great selections for both breakfast and lunch- including a picture of the cute little chicken and waffle dish which came with their chicken breast or wings. Food gets 4 stars, but service gets 3 stars. It was fine, but after our server dropped the check (which happened pretty early on in the meal), she only came back once to offer coffee refills. Overall, it’s a decent value, but for me (someone who can’t eat multiple plates of food), at $29 per person—drinks not included—I probably won’t be going back regularly, even though I want to. I probably wouldn’t have gone at all if I hadn’t had a BOGO coupon, but I’m glad I did. I will definitely recommend Walker’s to others and reserve it for special occasions!
We attended the Sunday brunch. Most of the food was only like warm. If the food trays were covered, that would help a lot to keep the heat in and from drying out. Also it was very difficult to reach the food in the rear pan. As much room as they have, they should be able to arrange the food pans side by side.
Katie was an excellent wait person.
Three of us went to Walker’s Exchange before a basketball game. We got there early, so there were not many people dining at that time. The restaurant was basic and clean and the service was great. However, the food was not good. My son and I got the mercantile chopped salad with chicken and my husband got the meatballs. I did not think a salad could be so bad, but this one changed my mind. It was mostly lettuce with sparse toppings and the added chicken had a unique (not good) taste to it. The meatballs were average.
The place is cute, but that’s the only positive. We tried to eat here twice during our recent stay at the Galt thinking that maybe we caught them on an “off night” the first time we dined with them.
We came for dinner with a reservation and were seated quickly and received our drink order quickly but then were forgotten about. When our food finally arrived every single plate had something wrong with it. 3 of the girls at our table got the wrong side dish. One girl received the “side dish” portion of the mac and cheese instead of the meal size that she ordered. One gal received the completely wrong meal and my meal was served ice cold like they took it out of the fridge and put it on the plate without reheating it. When the server brought me back a “hot” meal they brought me a different meal....I was hungry so I ate it. We had already been there over an hour and a half. The server also didn’t offer any more drinks or refill our waters. We went a found a manager to speak with about our issues and they told us they would not be charging us.
Then we decided to try them for Sunday breakfast. Again we were sat quickly and received our drinks quickly. However it took forever for our order to be taken (and the place was pretty empty) and 30 minutes went by additional without any plates. There were only two of us and we ordered simple dishes so we were not happy. We were told it would be a little while longer because they were trying to fill another tables “large” order and we would be next. We glanced over and it was 5 people. We left only paying for our drinks and went somewhere else with better and faster service.

Nice evening. John was our server and was wonderful
David was a wonderful server! Highly recommend him!
The atmosphere is very nice and the design updated recently to beautiful and current. Our server did not substitute a side item as requested, and our entrees came out as we were mid way through our salads. The server “team” was attentive but this just shows a lack of coordination and communication. Overall, the food was good and we enjoyed our meal.
Arrived early got seated immediately. Ordered drinks and food. Service was great. Food arrived quickly. Food tasted good and reasonably priced
Went here for dinner before a show at the Kentucky Center. We had a pretzel appetizer (nice), shrimp and grits, and rigatoni (both good, not 5-star). Service was appropriately attentive and timely. Pricing a bit high for a standalone but in line for a hotel restaurant; this is inside the Galt House. View onto the Belvedere lawn is very nice.
A big positive is that it is about a 100-150 yard walk outdoors to the Kentucky Center so if you want to consider parking in one of the two garages underneath, walking up to dinner then the show, you cannot do much better. Comparing this to Scene, the restaurant inside the Center... Based on multiple visits to Scene, Walker's has a significantly broader menu and will be much less crowded and noisy. Scene is the choice if you want to walk straight into the show, but you must have reservations there to insure seating. Even then, expect people will walk up and ask to sit at your table if there are extra seats. Walker's is a nicer space. Quality of food is similar (price will simply be dependent on what you order and your drink tab). Will we go to Walker's again? Very likely yes, there were other menu items worth trying, but have your expectations in order.
Food was not good at all. Our service was horrible, david. He had two older gentlemen that was seated in his area that got up and left because he never came back to get their order. He brought them water then never went back. They weren't happy at all. We both were very disappointed with Walkers Exchange
We went on Valentines Day. While they were busy, they were not sold out. They got every part of our order wrong, except the wine. That being said, they did provide great service and comped the entire meal.
The short rib was executed perfectly, tender and juicy. However, it was completely lacking in flavor. Service is was slow and it was difficult to communicate with our server so that we could get what we wanted.
The food was delicious. Very limited options because of the Valentine's Day special. I think it was a little pricey, however, if you are at the Galt House and it's a special occasion, why not splurge. The waiter had a dry personality and wasn't the most friendly when it came to explaining the options.
There food was not great. I was so disappointed. There instagram pictures are extremely misleading and do not even compare to the food that was given to us. To say the least, spend your money elsewhere. $15 for a half way put together burger is not worth the time or money.
2nd visit. Had special Valentine's Day dinner buffet for $18.95. Salad bar, baked chicken, brisket, 2eisenberger cheese grits, green beans, kale, and dinner rolls, plus dessert bar. Good quality, great value!
A very disappointing start for a new restaurant. We actually ended up leaving before ordering. We were greeted by the hostess who grimaced when she told us she was sitting us at "a table that is not her favorite".
When we arrived at our table, I wasn't sure what the hostess was talking about. It was a perfectly fine table.
We were warmly and promptly greeted by our server's assistant who poured our water and said our server would be with us soon. We looked over the menu for a few minutes...and waited...and waited...and waited, for 20 minutes. Absolutely no server came to our section during this entire time to greet us. The table directly next to us was in the same boat...although the lack of service didn't seem to bother them. We had an 8:00pm show, and the lack of service didn't bode well for ensuring we'd get out in time. We cut our losses, and went and had a lovely dinner at Milkwood. Not sure Walker's Exchange will get a second chance from us. Poor service is my biggest pet peeve.
When we were taken to our table, someone else was already seated there. As a result we were seated at a table in the main aisle way. It was very uncomfortable. It felt like a runway with all the traffic and bright lights. The server had a little bit of trouble understanding us. We must have been interrupted 8 times by different employees asking us how our meal was. It's fine to inquire once, maybe twice but 8 times was a bit intrusive and annoying. My husband was only about half way through his entree when the server asked what he would like for dessert. ??? The ambiance was like that of a Denny's. I'm sorry to say that we were not impressed.
Servers are ill trained, uninformed, slow, hard to find when you need them.
Luckily we ordered the buffet. Tables near us had not received their food until we were finished and leaving. They arrived at same time as us.
Bar service and food service was apparently slow. Took forever to get our drinks and our neighbors food as I said below above came as we were leaving. Not a good start for this restaurant.
tables are too small and wobbly. I ordered steak medium rare..received steak medium well. because the flavor was good and the service was slow I didnt send it back. ordered no salt on the fries due to doctor sodium restrictions..fries came with extra salt..sent them back, they came back hot and fresh delivered with the dessert. was surprised that even though our reservations were for their valentine special we kept having to remind the hostess and waiter. given the price, what we received was about 50% too expensive.
Great service. Food was excellent, drinks good too
I had a difficult time connecting with the menu, so I settled for a salad.
Some food was great and others missed the mark. The fried chicken on the buffet menu was great. We asked for ground black pepper for cacio e peppe which had no pepper and the waiter said no ground pepper. We finally asked the manager for VRS black pepper and she somehow found a pepper mill (again this is cacio PEPPE which should be loaded with black pepper). She said she would take care of the bad pasta and alas she just took 20% off of this meal. Whatever. We were ready to go b/c we had a play to see. If we had more time we would have made our thoughts further known - or rather next door in the Jockey Silks club.
Tuesday night...nit overly crowded. Kitchen very slow. Crab cakes excellent but slaw bland. Second time there...not overly impressed
