10 ounce sirloin was great
Reliably wonderful - as good as any of the downtown steakhouses but with parking. Want to try everything on the menu. Artichoke dip is best we've had. Comfortable, old school atmosphere.
Always good food fast service and located close to our home. We went to celebrate my husbands birthday.
Read not at all crowded that evening. Temperature was a little cool, but service excellent as was the food and drink.
Great steaks and side dishes; love the mushrooms and fresh vegetable mix (broccoli, cauliflower, fresh green beans, etc). Seating area small, need to make reservations for busy times. You never feel rushed to finish so they can seat another party. Nice staff.
Outstanding service provided by Gina! The steaks were done to perfection!
Went to Walkers at 5:30 on a Sunday. Place was at most half full. Still took our waitress 15+ minutes to come to our table for drink orders. Food took forever as well. I had the NY Strip and it was just okay. I’ve been to Walkers many times and have always loved it. I’m hopeful this was just a bad day for Walkers and not a change in their usual great food and service.
Amazing food and service. We had apps, main courses, dessert and drinks and everything was perfect. We will definitely be back.
Waited 30minutes after our reservation. Shrimp cocktail and Baked goat cheese was excellent. We ordered the rRibEye and NY strip and they were cooked to perfection. Vanilla bean ice and bread pudding awesome big enough to share.
I had filet mignon which was cooked perfectly medium rare, but with only a little flavor. If they offered peppercorn or Cajun seasoning it might improve. My wife had beef wellington and it was ok. Wine was good and priced ok. I'll go back to see if I can get a steak with a topping or sauce to enhance flavor.
The steak was amazing and the service was great! I will go back for sure. A little outdated but I was there for the food!
Very good experience on Valentines Day!
We have always loved Walkers, this was the first visit the food was not great.
The steak was average, the asparagus was over cooked and the baked potato was small. They pushed A marshmallow dessert for $9, really?
We will come back one more time hoping it was just a bad night for them (Valentine's day)
This was our second time visiting Walkers and again only one person was serving the whole restaurant. There were 6 tables of people waiting an hour for food. Completely ridiculous I will never come back!!!!
Good food and service. Gabby was our server and was great! Had the prime rib special and it was delicious. Will be back.
Awesome time with old friends & the food was INCREDIBLE!!!! Yummmmmmy........
Waited 30 minutes past reservation time to be seated at bar hightop table. My mother's steak was not edible. The rest of our party's food was OK. Not sure we will be back.
After making a reservation in advanced and driving 40 minutes to said location, upon arriving we were told reservations currently they can’t take and we wouldn’t be seated for 45 minutes on. When I asked why/ no reason. I knew they let walk-ins and didn’t value a reservation.
The food and service was impeccable!
Great food the Beef Wellington was amazing! We'll definitely go back!
This is the second time I used Open Table to make reservations at Walker's. They do not check the Open Table reservations, and both time did not have a table for us. I showed them the confirmation e-mail we had and they moved us to the top of the wait list. But come-on Walker's get with the program.....!
Great place for a good meal at a reasonable price. Steaks are very good and include soup or salad. Sides are extra but very reasonable. Service is very good. Brian, the owner, is always busy helping out with food service, table clearing or whatever else needs to be done. He is 100% service driven!
Nice neighborhood steak House. Like going to an old supper club. Very nice place.
Food has always been very good and service was very good. The only problem on New Year's Eve was that OpenTable overbooked the restaurant. It is only a moderate size restaurant and the staff moved us along as quickly as possible, but we were seated an hour after our reservation time. Probably call a restaurant next time instead of using OpenTable.
We dined on New Year's eve and due to a glitch from Open Table where the reservations were "down" they had a back up of customers. We did have to wait longer but it was worth it, the service was great and the food excellent for a good value. Desserts were large portions and reasonably priced.
We have had many wonderful meals at
Walkers. Unfortunately we got there on New Year's eve and were told their Open Table app crashed and they weren't able to pull up reservations all day and that with a reservation we would have to wait 45 to 60 minute. Needless to say we were not happy and left. That is why this visit gets 2 stars, should have been less
This was New Year’s Eve, and the place was packed. Noise level was high with so many people celebrating. Service was especially good and reasonably prompt considering the number of people. Likewise the food was also very good. Will definitely return for a more typical experience.
We booked Walker's through OpenTable for New Year's Eve and then received a call from them cancelling the reservation two hours before I seating time. They claimed they overbooked and had a glitch with the OpenTable booking system. I was promised a gift certificate for my "inconvenience that was never received. Needless to say - unimpressed by the service! Impossible to get a table at the last minute on NYE and I made this reservation well in advance. I'll be sharing this story with my friends and neighbors in Naperville.
I booked our reservation on Open Table a few days before New Years Eve. Open Table sent 2 separate text messages to confirm reservation. I responded and confirmed reservation. Then 1 hour in Nee Years Eve before our reservation Walkers called me to tell me that they would not be able to accommodate us!
On a voice mail left of my cell they explained that they had “informed Open Table that they should not take any more reservations, yet they did and we cannot handle all of the reservations” - WAIT, WHAT??? Seriously? Cancelling a reservation 1 hour before on New Years Eve? Bad Walkers!! Not good! We went anyway and I demanded to be seated -it was me and my 16 year old son, worse part, we have been going to this restaurant for 19 years, yikes!!! Shocked to say the least! We ate dinner there but- beware! Especially if you book on Open Table at Walkers!!
Made my reservation for New Year’s Eve on open table. An hour before my reservation I got a phone call saying they were not able to get into their open table account so they cancelled my reservation. I called the restaurant and the person I spoke to was unhelpful and rude. They made no attempt to rectify the situation and denied any fault. I understand things happen, but not owning up to your mistakes and making them right is simply bad business.
We had a very quiet and relaxing lunch on a Saturday. The food and service was great.
Worst service EVER!! Bus boy brought us water and bread then we had to ask who our waitress was. Finally Mary showed up and when we asked for separate checks that caused all types of confusion. She even had the nerve to put her finger up and say shush to one of us...wth??? Forgot our 2 salads and soup when she brought the entree we mentioned the soup and salad and she said she had already brought them and when we left her know that she had not and expressed or disappointment she said she was disappointed too. The owner came over apologized and said Mary was in pain from an injury then get her off the floor. My body hurts everyday and I get up and go to work and now the money I work hard for is being wasted on this crap??
Everything is good.
We have been here several times but this time, we were less than impressed. When the bus boy came to our table to pour water, we noticed our glasses had finger prints all over them so we asked for new glasses and then proceeded to give us a HARD TIME for our request! He finally obliged but not before stating "Fine, but these new glasses are the same as the old ones!!" So our visit did not begin very well. We waited a bit and when no one had come to our table, we decided we should probably sit at the bar. At that point, everything got better. Brian is a WONDERFUL bartender, very polite and always asking if we needed anything else, if the food tasted ok, etc. The chicken piccata I ordered was basically chicken breast with a butter sauce and some capers thrown in so I highly suggest not ordering Italian there. The all you can eat ribs my husband had were to die for and a great value! Great wine options too!
In the end, sit at the bar and don't order Italian!
A friend had recommended Walkers & we were not disappointed. Waitress was wonderful & so was the food! We will go back again.
Loved it all!
The steaks were excellent. Sides were good too. We also had spinach artichoke dip and white wine. I would skip the spinach artichoke dip given the food proportions and the fact there were some pretty chewy chunks. We had very good service.
The only thing to note is that the place is small and the decor and ambience don't fit the price points. You need reservations (which we had).
I would recommend overall and dine at Walker's Char House again given the food quality and service.
Great food great value great service
Hands down just as good as the “big” guy chains out there for about 1/2 the price.
Small quaint could be like noisy if full crowd but such a gem
If you want a quieter evening, ask to be seated away from the bar. Food is always great. Best filet mignon in Naperville.
You absolutely cannot go wrong with the food at Walker's. It is consistently excellent and delicious!
