The food was mediocre at best! Not worth the price charged! The restaurant was very nice. Our waitress was very inattentive.
The food was generic. Everything was extremely overpriced.
We held a business lunch for 5. We sat in the back room, so it was quiet for our meeting, however, the waitstaff rarely came by, we had to flag people down to get more water and the check. I was surprised because i have always had good service at the other Marriott restaurants at this location. The food was ok, but not above average for what i had.
This was the first time my CEO had been at this Marriott, it did not make a good impression.
Great breakfast buffet, included pancake and waffle to order - as well as omelets to order...lots of options, good selection of fresh fruits...all around good breakfast.
Excellent service. Food fine. Expensive for breakfast.
This was our second time, as a work group, to have lunch at Walker Street Kitchen and I was less than impressed. I had reservations so we were seated timely and they were happy to accommodate our group. After that, the service just went downhill. All glasses were already on the table, but several trips were made by our server to get pitchers of water to fill everyone's glass. It took a while to take everyone's order then almost 40 minutes to get our food, and that's after asking her to check twice. Others around us, who arrived AFTER our party, were enjoying their food. Our server brought out a stand so it looked like all meals would be brought out together on a tray, but instead they were brought out 2 meals at a time...and not in any kind of hurry. I asked for the check when our meals were brought as we were already almost an hour in. When the check arrived, I quickly realized why the servers were in no hurry...the 18% hotel "service fee" was already added. The food was good, but I'm not sure that I'll go back. I guess I just expected better service with a name like the Marriott.
We ate breakfast here twice during a weekend stay. The food was great both times. The service was good the first time and terrible the second. Took 20 minutes to bring waters, we had a fill in server and actual server didn't acknowledge us until we complained, 45 minutes after being seated, that our food was taking a long time. Pretty sure the server thought we were the problem. Mgmt addressed the issue.
Unfortunately, there are no shades to block the intense morning sun.
Went for brunch before an Astro's game. We got in and served quickly. The omelette station made us a fresh personal omelette. The buffet offered an abundance of fresh fruit as well as several other dishes, breads and muffins.
Food was fine, not outstanding but good quality. Soup was very nice. Service was ok.
I was really frustrated they didn’t validate parking.
Excellent service, atmosphere and LOVED the design. Waitresses were excellent and the food was fantastic. I can't say anything negative.
We had wonderful service ever with ordering the buffet! Great experience!
I enjoy this place. Pleasurable experience
I dined for a late breakfast and Landys took wonderful care of me. I was terribly rude and walked in while I was on a phone call, and she was still so sweet and brought me coffee and water. I had a working breakfast so I was on my computer and even stayed almost an hour after I had finished eating, and the entire stay was extremely welcoming and friendly. The oatmeal was great and filling. I definitely recommend for a casual breakfast spot. Great for solo business traveler and beyond.
The service was the worst we have seen in a very long while. We ordered orange juice and ice water. After 15 minutes I finally flagged someone down to request the ice water. Our server Pamela didn't seem to be able to handle more than one or two tables, management should have easily spotted this and taken up the slack. Everything else was good though, can't hold the whole restaurant to blame for one poor server.
Didn't eat the breakfast buffet or omelettes but they looked really on point.
We had Migas tacos that were average, but the re fried beans were nice and spicy.
*The Texas Benny is something I would highly recommend. It is an interesting take on the eggs Benedict, biscuit with BBQ and onions with a pouched egg a top a gravy drizzle.
Lian was a wonderful server! Will definitely make this a regular dining experience.
The restaurant had a live music quartet playing loud jazz/blues at 10:30 am. It was so loud people were having to shout to have a conversation. We gave up after 15 mins and just read our iPads while eating. Food was great but the noise was just ridiculous. I can’t imagine what it must be like to work there and endure those decibels for a long period of time. Its a work hazard. I will not go back again despite the food being great.
The restaurant was closed when we arrived!! Very disappointed!
Perfect location for a business meal. In the heart of Avenida Houston, the breakfast buffet had everything imaginable and included an omelet and waffles. Creative and tasty options with local flare, not to mention the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the city and nearby shopping, dining and entertainment options.
We made a reservation several days in advance for a birthday dinner before we went to the show. We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation to find the restaurant closed. A hotel staff member was standing near by and explained that they were closed due to the Astros game and needed to move move staff to the other restaurants to cover the game crowd. Fine, but why did you accept my reservation and how can we ever come back if you don't keep the posted hours?
Wonderful atmosphere, polite staff, great prices and fabulous food!
First. I made reservations and told the server I wanted to make sure I was credited in ONTABLE. SHE DISAPPEARED
Another server showed up. Sat us and someone else came to enter our reservation credit Asked for wine list, waited and waited. Finally received one. Ordered the wine. Waited and waited for it. We were told no one could find the corkscrew. Gets worse. The accountant tried to uncork 3 times she removed the corkscrew. Finally opened the wine. Surprised there was no cork crumbs. She then flicked the metal covering off the bottle top with her finger. My friend was drinking it and didn’t see her do this. Then she Poured the whole glass. No sip and taste. The Ruben was meh. Fries were worse than fast food. The Redfish was good my friend said.
Other than that I would say it was just ok. Very amateurish staff for such a semi high end area.
Won’t be back or recommend
The service was slow and the staff can benefit from additional training on customer service. The staff attending the table was slow and when it came time to do the bills, it was confusing and slow.
Additional lunch boxes were ordered and it was confusing for the staff - better communication within the team would be good.
Made a reservation for a business dinner and to celebrate a Birthday, which I notified them of when making the reservations. The dinner was a disaster pretty much from the start. The service was horrible, like comically awful! The food was marginal. They never recognized the Birthday as well, just a complete flop!
After planning in advance to go to Walker St before a concert, they called the day before and cancelled saying they were not serving dinner that night or all that week. Apparently, they do this often, so I am not sure why the reservation was available on Open Table. I know several people had to find alternate options before the concert. It was very inconvenient. The menu looked good and we were looking forward to it.
This was a very nice lunch in the neighborhood of the convention center. If only all of the cities I went to had options like this near their convention centers!
Excellent! No steak on the menu, but delivered all 7 of us steak!!!
Some food items, such as salads, were great. A burger was very overcooked, Brussel sprouts were mushy and inedible. Plates were not cleared after we finished eating, and we paid the check with dirty plates in front of us.
Limited menu and I prefer more choices. Fair service and the menu was pricey.
I have to say, very high quality food, great little restaurant that's overshadowed by the other 2 at the Marriott. If you stay at the hotel, give Biggios a miss and go here. You will not be disappointed!
Staff were very attentive. Small menu but tasty offerings. My husband had the snapper and I had the caulifower "steak". We finished both. My only note is that menu stated kalamata olives which I adore. 2 regular green olives is what came out. The banana pudding cheesecake was delicious and not overpowering in scale.
Will absolutely go back. If you have a function at the GRB, park at the Marriott valet, have meals and the Walker Street, then take the overpass to the convention center. Hostess, waitress, and food were excellent.
Staff were friendly and attentive, the food was well prepared
The service was extremely slow and the restaurant was not busy at all.
Good continental buffet for Sunday brunch. Peaceful quiet ambiance
Shrimp and grits were Texas style and very good. Service was fantastic.
