When we arrived for our reservation the restaurant was only about half full. We were seated in what was arguably the worst table in the bar area. We requested to be reseated and our server, after checking with the girl at the front desk said it was not possible. From that point on the service was very good and the food was excellent. My menu choice came with fries with the option to substitute for soup. The soup choices were asian chicken or seafood chowder. I opted for the chowder.After finishing a very good meal in a cramped, noisy atmosphere we received our check. There was an up charge of $6.00 for the seafood chowder. When I questioned our server she said that only the chicken soup was a substitution for the fries, the chowder was subject to an upcharge.What we expected to be an enjoyable experience started and ended poorly and was not improved by the location we were seated. We have been dining at the Walker House for over 35 years and have never been disappointed with the food. We will chalk this experience up to the fact that it is the beginning of the busy season and there is probably new staff who have not yet been seasoned.

Food was great, service was wonderful, and they were super accommodating with my request for sparkling nonalcoholic wine to celebrate my wife and my 6 year anniversary. They went above and beyond, we are so grateful

Our experience was excellent in all areas. The Walker House is one of the few places that is always consistent. Expectations are high and they never disappoint

It was a great place, very popular in the area. It was very noisy which could just be from acoustics of room. Hard to hold a conversation. Food was good with large portions.

At the Walker House we ordered just the sandwich meal and ordered a salad which was quite small for the extra price added. Then they don’t even give you some fries with it after charging 7 dollars extra for the salad. Then the salad wasn’t fresh. We had three lunches, two roast beef dips and a Reuben. The Reuben had very little meet and the bread was so soggy I could hardly pick it up. With three waters that didn’t get refilled our bill came to over $80 plus tip. That was our last visit to the Walker House after years of patronage in the summers. I felt completely ripped off.

Dinner at the Walker House was delicious as always. The ribs were so tasty and ‘fall off the bone’. Service is always the best!

We had a lovely dinner out—everything went smoothly. The service was friendly and attentive, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of food and atmosphere. It’s a great spot to bring visitors—welcoming, relaxed, and enjoyable from start to finish. Would definitely return!
