We ordered somewhat fancy non-alcoholic drinks. They were very expensive and not good. It tasted like bitter lime soda and had about 10 blueberries in them. Not enjoyable at all and $10 each. My friend ordered the Prime rib special (delicious; $45) and they forgot to give her the Yorkshire pudding. They brought it at the end of the meal when we pointed it out. They did not offer any kind of discount. I had the open-faced beef sandwich with gravy - also delicious! Seafood chowder - tasted okay - smelled fishy - fresh ingredients do not smell fishy. Caesar salad - BEST restaurant Caesar salad I have had in about 40 years! Be prepared though - very strong garlic flavour! Amazing!

The restaurant itself was very nice, it was a bustling Saturday evening. Unfortunately like most restaurants the vegetarian options are lacking. I ordered a veggie burger with Greek salad, the burger was completely tasteless. The Greek salad consisted of romain lettuce, a little red onion, feta crumbles and 3 black olives. Overall my meal was disappointing. My husband ordered the steak and ceaser salad which he enjoyed.

Our meals took too long to be served and they were not warm. The pickerel dinner was overpriced and the rice lacked flavor. Our chicken parm pasta dinner was dry and the sauce was acidic.

When we arrived for our reservation the restaurant was only about half full. We were seated in what was arguably the worst table in the bar area. We requested to be reseated and our server, after checking with the girl at the front desk said it was not possible. From that point on the service was very good and the food was excellent. My menu choice came with fries with the option to substitute for soup. The soup choices were asian chicken or seafood chowder. I opted for the chowder.After finishing a very good meal in a cramped, noisy atmosphere we received our check. There was an up charge of $6.00 for the seafood chowder. When I questioned our server she said that only the chicken soup was a substitution for the fries, the chowder was subject to an upcharge.What we expected to be an enjoyable experience started and ended poorly and was not improved by the location we were seated. We have been dining at the Walker House for over 35 years and have never been disappointed with the food. We will chalk this experience up to the fact that it is the beginning of the busy season and there is probably new staff who have not yet been seasoned.
