Try the Australian Wagu Skirt Steak! Totally awesome.
Hiotel ambience with slow slow valet. Server was nice but kitchen was slow slow slow. Underwhelmed by the experience. There are many great options in Buckhead and this is not one of them.
One and done with this joint.
My friends and I had an awesome experience. Our waiter did an amazing job.
We had a fantastic experience at high tea, the service was prompt and not intrusive.
We did have a negative experience unrelated to the cafe though.
We inadvertently left a fuel card in the center cup holder of our vehicle and when the car was returned to us, it was gone. We searched the car hoping it had somehow made the leap out of the cup holder but no, it was gone. I am 99.99999% certain it was there too because I made a mental note before getting out of the car.
We have no proof of course but are disappointed.
Food quality not worth the money but awesome service.
Except for the fact that we had to wait 15 minutes before we were seated because no staff was there, we had a great meal. My favorite dish was the southern warm bread pudding.
a very nice setting for a relaxing dinner catching up with friends. the service was ok. not much of a staff but very timely and friendly. I loved the food and drinks. The setting was the best. Very calm and relaxing. Very classy and warm. Would definitely recommended
Mommy-Daughter time. 🤩
We went here for afternoon tea-a holiday tea. Thankfully, we used a Travelzoo voucher, which made it only $55 per person as opposed to $72 per person, because the experience was no where near worthy of $72. The room was spare and bright-not very warm or welcoming. We were seated and immediately asked which tea we'd like, without any time to peruse. The included champagne was delicious, as was the tea, but the service was lacking. It was polite enough, but food was dropped off at the table without any description of what anything was, and the whole event seemed like they were just rushing people through without any desire to give you an "experience". The sandwiches and sweets were delicious, and the waitstaff very friendly, but I've been to afternoon tea and other places in town, and while the regular price of the tea at the Waldorf Astoria is a good bit more than other locations, the experience isn't comparable.
Overall a lovely experience but definitely room for improvement. The Bar room and hotel had a warm and inviting feel complete with a Christmas tree, huge gingerbread house and holiday decorations. 2pm holiday tea reservations had to wait at least 15 minutes for the hostess to arrive. Once seated, the waiters could not have been nicer and were very accommodating. However, the tea sandwiches were sparse on ingredients and the smoked salmon tea sandwiches in particular were only bite size. Considering the price, this doesn’t sit well with me.
Attended high tea at the hotel. Very well done. Especially loved the champagne choice. Due to a heavy tea schedule, they utilized an event space instead of the typical cafe restaurant. It was fine. The atmosphere is more generic. We will be back!
The atmosphere is nice but the tea time is a bit overpriced
I went for dinner. I had my doubts as they serve breakfast lunch and dinner. But It is advertised as elegant dining, so I figured it is the Waldorf Astoria, let’s give them a try. Very disappointed. The martini was undersized! Charge me more, but give me a martini. It was 2 of us, and they added 20% gratuity on a line item. Then of course the top slip of paper was the total with a line for you to add a tip. I dislike that trick. Very underwhelming experience . With so many places to dine in Atlanta, they are not holding their own. Go elsewhere.
The food was very good however there were several concerns that we had. First of all there was no one at the host stand and we had to walk around the hotel to find someone to help us. They finally ask someone at the bar to help us and we asked them to please check us in as we had made a reservation on OpenTable and were to get 1000 points. We had to ask for this several times before finally a manager said that they did Check us in. The person working in the bar was very nice and so was the bartender and the drinks and the food we’re good. I would have just expected better service at a Waldorf Astoria from the moment that we stepped into the restaurant. I would have just expected better service at a Waldorf Astoria from the moment that we stepped into the restaurant. As Diamond Hilton honors members I do expect their standards of service to be much higher than we experienced here. Hopefully they will improve!
The Waldorf always makes me feel special. A delightful dining experience every time.
Typical high price hotel food. So many choices for foodie the area this shouldn’t have been our first
The dining room is small; the portions are equally small. The check was $170 food was raw we sent it back their response was to give us $20 check credit terrible management decision.
I’m a Hilton diamond member I’ve been to every Waldorf Astoria in the world. This is a holiday inn in Ritz Carlton clothing.
The best place 6a breakfast or lunch meeting.
Great meal and service, but the restaurant was empty! It was a nice private experience for us but that was unheard of! The location of the restaurant is in a hallway type of atmosphere before the bar. That was the only unappealing item.
The Cafe and Bar at Waldorf Astoria Atlanta remains the only true cafe in Buckhead. Their new French inspired American menus surpasses the the best that there was when the Mandarin Oriental managed the save venue. While Chef Hyman remains at the cafe a new executive, Chef Christophe, instills French culinary excellence and that Je ne sais quoi that give the restaurant a bright future. A new menu, style of service, plates and bowls and a new managing hotel gives the cafe and bar at the WAA that special gleam of bright hope as completes travels from its luxurious past toward its decadent future.
Favorite dish: Pomme Puree
Favorite afternoon: The afternoon tea (please book ahead)
Favorite breakfast item: Croissant
We both ordered the burger - medium and received it well done. They offered to remake or replace. They did take one off our bill.
Great food
Love the breakfast and lunch with top tier service. It's a perfect meeting place for business or an intimate catch-up session.
I had an awesome experience. I truly enjoyed tea, scones and sandwiches. We wished for more cucumber sandwiches. The ambiance was gorgeous.
Went for Afternoon Tea at the Waldorf Astoria in Atlanta on a Sunday afternoon, there was a party of 10 in the main area and we were seated a few feet away literally under the staircase. The atmosphere was loud and noisy with both the party and the location where we sat directly under a staircase with high ceilings. The food was ok at best, for the $48 price tag, I would imagine the sandwiches and cakes to be innovative and delicious instead of just ok. The tea itself was served with a french press, but did require the water to be refilled often (and the occasional tea leaf into the mix), the selection wasn't as robust as I was expecting. The service was scattered, during different portions of the afternoon would be very attentive and then would disappear for a significant amount of time (possibly due to the large party). If you plan to attend afternoon tea, I would request seating at the bar area (a slightly more quite atmosphere, but less tables and room).
We both ordered seared scallops and broccolini. Both were perfectly prepared and exceptional.
Afternoon Tea. Tasty finger sandwiches. Warm scones. Desserts are good too. Unfortunately, unlike the Afternoon Tea in London, the Waldorf do not replenish any of the food (apart from the tea). The reasoning is that they only order ingredients for the exact quantity which is a shame. That aside - it’s a good way to spend the afternoon with friends.
If you ever receive your food, it’s good from prior visits. This time the service was awful. The first time after an hour we went looking for our waiter about our order. It was finally brought out ice cold. The second time we couldn’t get waited on at all. The place was not full. We got up & left. It’s a lovely hotel. People outside of the cafe are terrific. Not sure what the restaurants problem is. Maybe not enough staff.
Great service and food! It's perfect for a meeting or catch-up with friends.
One of the best afternoon tea menus in Atlanta, sandwiches and cakes
Love, love this place for their service and delicious menu. it's my go-to for meetings or catch-up with family and friends!
Food was amazing but the service was terrible
Lovely space, service and food. Perfect business lunch with a client.
This is a prefect spot for a nice meal. We came here for a lunch meeting and what a perfect spot in Buckhead. We started with Soft Shell crab flatbread which was very delicious. Joey, our servers was very attentive and polite. We can walk from our office and be here in 5 minutes.
The service was outstanding. I never knew the Cafe was there. Joey was a great server. We will be going back.
Our services was excellent. I recommend the pulled pork and the lobster salad. Both were outstanding.
My brunch dining experience was amazing. I enjoyed how the hostess was alert and very professional. She addressed me by my last name after seating me. Then my server arrives greeted me, who took my food order. My food came out hot, very tasty. I had the Chicken sausage spinach mushroom omelette. Overall It was great food and great service. Waldorf Astoria your Restuarant elegance has always been top notch dining. Sincerely Kimberly ⭐️🌟
Marcus was a marvelous and attentive server. We had a lovely time, And the lobster salad was AMAZINGG. Definitely will be seeing me again!
We went to the Waldorf Astoria in Buckhead for a Christmas 5 course prix fixe dinner. I can only sum up the experience as a total disappointment from beginning to end. Upon arrival had to wait 10 minutes for host to show up, after we were seated another 15 min for server to come. We decided to add wine pairing, so first glass was poured, no description, no sommelier as advertised. 20 min later first course arrives, soup, but no silverware nor bread plate on table, server apologizes and brings silverware, but no bread plates. Soup was just warm. Then 20 minutes go by, no second course, but they pour the accompanying wine, another 20 minutes and 3rd course is brought, we politely inform the server that he skipped the 2nd course, 10 min later he brought it, a salad terrine, good presentation but lacked flavor. On two occasions the server refilled our glasses with tap water although we had sparkling water on the table. He apologized and brought new glasses. We finished the 2nd course and had to wait another 25 minutes for the 3rd. With each wine poured no description, not even turning the bottle so we could see, and when we asked just a brief "it's a chardonnay" or "it's a blend" was the extent of an answer. Well eventually the 4th course was served, we asked about the wine, he said it was a new wine he didn't know much about it but he thought it was a pinot noir, and he was sure we would like it. At that point we just wanted the night to end, but it was dragging. Eventually dessert was served and we asked for the check. After waiting a while we walked up to the bar and asked for it. We were really happy to see the end to such a miserable evening. What should have been at the most a 2 hour dinner, dragged for over 3 hours! How hard can it be to serve a prix fixe dinner? After all dining out is about the service, the experience and the food. This restaurant lost on each aspect horribly! The only highlight was the courteous and professional valet attendant.
My expectations were high upon arrival. I was excited and expected a great Christmas experience, unfortunately we were disappointed from the start. There was no designated hostess to greet guests. We had to wait several minutes for someone to seat us. Every party had to wait when they arrived to be seated. It was awkward having groups stare into the small dining room looking for a hostess to seat them. After being seated I noticed the dirty light colored leather chair arms in this restaurant. All the chairs look disgustingly filthy. They really need to be cleaned or refreshed. They made a mistake when bringing my 2nd cocktail. I didn't say anything because the staff seemed to be already struggling. The staff was very nice, and they were trying very hard. The courses were good, but nothing over the top -nothing that stands out as overly memorable or that makes me crave going back. Maybe two course were good +. The desert was the best part of the meal. Getting the bill paid took forever. That seemed like a course in itself. I'm guessing they were short staffed. I don't believe having a hostess, clean table/chair arms, accurate cocktails, & getting the bill timely in a restaurant providing a 5 course dinner should not be a big ask. I believe this restaurant can do better.
Booked here because various websites I had googled said it was the best Dim Sum in Atlanta. I have eaten Dim Sum in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, London, San Francisco and in a couple of Bulford Highway Chinese restaurants. This was the worst Dim Sum I’ve ever had.
It is not a Dim Sum buffet, it is a regular buffet with four steamed Dim Sum each plus some deep fried options. They were all pretty tasteless; plenty of pasty or bun but little filling. The Tempura prawn option was the best thing on the menu but when it ran out, it was not replaced.
At £55 per head, it is very expensive; twice the price I paid on Bulford Highway. We will not be back.
