Waiter's Gastro Bar
Great vibe and energy and the food was amazing !!!!’
un sitio acogedor, el servicio muy bueno y personal, la comida exelente.
We went for NYE and the food was on point! We were over dressed but the vibe was nice. The service was great, we went back the next day. Highly recommended!
Excellent service! Portions are huge, we got two apps and two entrees and had way too much food. Highly recommend the fried cheese and the ceviche!
I think the waiter Juan owns the place. Hence why so many reviews reference him. If he doesn’t, he acts like it. My service on this day was less than average. We were only given a small can of coke to drink at the very beginning and that’s it. I actually left the restaurant thirsty lol. As a fellow Boricua, I’m more than familiar with traditional Puerto Rican dishes. This place was disappointing. My chuletas /pork chops were thin and well over cooked. Dried out because of the apparent overly deep fried state. The white rice was meh and the beans had a little flavor at least. Maybe they just cook to appease a tourist palet that’s less experienced. We ordered fried cheese for appetizers and it was very bland. Had it not for the marina, it would taste like the same grease the rest of the food was fried in. Super tiny place. We were at capacity during COVID and I counted four tables. Which still made the place feel packed. Hate to see how it works when the pandemic is over. All and all I’ve been fortunate to travel the world and enjoy fine dining throughout. This is definitely not it. Lol. I’m originally from the Bronx and can name three cuchifritos (Puerto Rican fast food restaurant) that would put this place to shame. Buyer beware. Lol. Go ahead if you don’t want GOOD Puerto Rican food. Shoots, go here if you don’t even want halfway decent Puerto Rican food. The reviews on Yelp are definitely misleading unless it’s the owners posting positive reviews to help themselves. Good luck Juan but, you can do better. Your food is best served to drunken folks whom have no need for fine dine and just need something to combat the alcohol. Sorry but I love Puerto Rico too much not to remain honest to anyone who truly cares about their evening while visiting my beloved island. Change the menu. Serve burgers dogs and fries. That would seem more like your speed. Good luck Visitors. You’ve been warned.
Juan was very hospitable. Felt as is we were at a relatives. Social distancing guidelines were met. the food was amazing and the drinks on point.
It's my favorite restaurant in Puerto Rico. The food is outstanding. It's a mellow, small place that makes you feel very relaxed.
Whenever I am in San Juan this place is a MUST! The food is soooo delicious. I order extra to take home. You will not be disappointed with this place. Love it
Hidden gem! Amazing service and AMAZING food! From the fried cheese with guava sauce to the skirt steak in rice we were stuffed by the end of dinner! I recommend getting 2 apps and sharing an entree. The portions are huge!
Food was amazing! Steaks highly recommended, rapid check in and online reservation available.
On its outdoor appearance we were a little hesitant but please do not be discouraged; There was no wait whatsoever, the food was delicious, our servers were very attentive and accommodating, we truly wish we would have discovered this place sooner!
Great food and drink
This was our second visit to Waiters and both times our server was Juan. He is very nice and friendly and makes sure our food is as ordered. The food is excellent! It has a nice vibe since it is a unique type of setting (under ground level). We look forward to when we can return for another meal at Waiters.
Food was good but nothing spectacular. Service was very good.
Small neighborhood place. Decent food in a great location to hotels. Nice and helpful server. The Mozzarella is good stuff.
Amazing restaurant. Great food and the service was excellent. Small and unassuming place but a wonderful experience overall.
Food is truly fantastic and the service warm & friendly.
Two days after the earthquake, we were worried about our next-day trip to San Juan. I happened to see this restaurant was on Facebook and sent a message whether they were open. They answered back right away that they were open, serving full menu, and that everything was fine in the Condado area. I greatly appreciated their rapid response and was SO glad we didn't cancel our trip.
This is a small restaurant, but the drinks are excellent, the waiter helpful and friendly, the food authentic and delicious. This was the best meal we had in San Juan - I highly recommend it.
Food overall is just okay. It’s in a dump. The service is extremely slow. The mussels are good if you decide to stay.
Fantastic experience! Juan was our server and was very attentive. We ordered two tapas and a rice dish to share (between two of us), and it was more than enough food. We had the Gouda fritters, Loiza style Piononos (mashed plantains filled with beef, covered with cheese) and Arroz con Longaniza (rice dish with local sausage). It was all fantastic. Great value as well. Definitely recommend!
We had a great experience. The service was warm and friendly. We had the mussels and paella. We had to get extra bread for the mussel sauce. Ymmm. We highly recommend this place.
Best Service, food and beverages we had in Condado! Loved the Vanderbilt 1919, ET and was amazed by Waiters 3x
Small place, very cozy. Food and service were terrific! An authentic PR food experience.
We wanted authentic PR food while in San Juan and this hit the mark. Not a fancy place everything on the menu was fresh and delicious .We had shrimp in a avocado and rice with skirt steak. Had mozzarella balls for an appetizer. It’s right in the hotel district in Condado so we walked back to the Marriott with no problems. Highly recommend for some really good food.
Excellent food and service. Real gem of a place.
Everything was fabulous, especially the specials. Their cocktails were the best ever & our waiter Juan was so nice & helpful. We’ll definitely return!!
Juan served us and he and the food were excellent
Juans service was excellent and his recommendations were amazing. The food was delicious. 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone around the area. If possible ask for Juan as your waiter - you won’t regret it!
We go here every time we visit Puerto Rico. The food is phenomenal. Never had a bad thing off the menu. It’s called Waiters because this is the place that all of the restaurant staff go after work to eat. Supremely executed Puerto Rican food. They make great cocktails too.
Food was great! Juan was very attentive and friendly.
Waiters was absolutely delicious ! The server was kind & gave excellent recommendations. We left the next morning & only regret is that we didn’t get carry out for the plane ride home !
Juan provides great customer service and menu assistance. The Chef Red Snapper Special was delicious. It was very moist in side yet crisp and flavorful outside. Drinks were a little weak but overall we enjoyed it and would definitely return.
Small and quiet overall very pleasantly impressed. Food and service was excellent will go back next time in San Juan.
Our waiter Juan was amazing. One of the best meals we had during our trip. It will be our first stop on our next trip!
Service was amazing and the food was delicious! We ordered ceviche that was so fresh and yummy! Our server was delightful and attentive. This place is very unassuming from the outside but once you’re inside, the dining is A-one.
A hidden gem in Condado. Manager Juan went to great lengths to make us welcome. Enjoyed so much we had dinner there two nights in a row, and went for dessert and drinks on third night. Foos was outstanding. Highly recommend.
Just what we were looking for- great specials and genuinely nice staff
Great food at good prices, I had to ask what was the happy hour special after hearing someone order 2x$5 local Magna beers good deal
Just an excellent restaurant with authentic Puerto Rican specialties prepared with the freshest ingredients. Our server Juan was excellent - his recommendations were spot on. Highly recommended for a great night in Puerto Rico.
Located across the street from fancy resort restaurants, this spot looked fun and relaxed. The restaurant, which features Puerto Rican food, sits low and below street level. It is not fancy, and has a big TV screen. But the ceviche was fabulous, and the Mofungo really delicious. I also really enjoyed the fried cheese with Guava sauce. The drinks are fine, nothing fancy, and the waiters are very friendly.
