It’s started out well enough, appetizers were ok, server was attentive. Then something changed……Our meals came out staggered. There were three of us, by the time the third got their meal, the first had finished. Ordered dessert, took 40 minutes before someone came over and told us they ran out. Food was less than average, could’ve gone to Panda Express and had a better experience.
SERVICE WAS GREAT !!! FOOD WAS GOOD BUT A BIT TOO SPICY
Other guest’s dog on the seat and barking ruined any potential positive ambiance
Our dishes came out 10 min apart
It was not busy at all so no excuse
Looking forward to going back. Already know what to order next time.
Was an outstanding time. A must eat experience.
Staff were friendly and attentive. The food was awesome!!!!
Delicious food. We love this restaurant.
Great food that catered to a family setting.
Delicious food and atmosphere
The waiter was friendly but a little forgetful but that’s okay, everyone has those days. My meal came with an egg but the egg was missing from the meal.
Overall it was good but just very average. The food didn’t complete my justify the price.
Went to lunch with my 13 year old son. Day in the city.
We were not attended well.
Had a great time at dinner with a friend. Our server was very attentive, and took his time to explain to us our options on the menu. Quick service, great food, and a nice atmosphere.
Great. Very nice place to eat
Food was amazing! Service was okay when we got it, but I was sick and spent most of the evening in the bathroom. While I was away from the table, my partner was mostly ignored, having to ask the host for water and ask to order. I would have felt better about the experience if he were able to enjoy attentive service from the staff.
We love that Wagamana makes such delicious vegan options!
Our kid is a bit of a picky eater, but he always enjoys his Katsu Curry (minus the curry sauce, but that means more curry for daddy!) So we know where to go for a flawless family meal - and the vibe is always welcoming and relaxed - a plus for dining with kids. :)
You need to have a manager on duty. While the servers were young and enthusiastic, the experience was a mess.
After dropping off menus to my wife and I, the waitress took our order, which was two appetizers and two entrees. A second waiter then told us they couldn’t tell us which food would come out in any particular order. So I got a entree before my appetizer, and my wife’s entree showed up a considerable time later than mine. Who runs a restaurant like this?
The wait staff never came back to fill our water glasses or check with us as to any additional requests. They were hanging out chatting with each other and another guest at another table for awhile. I was tempted to ask them if they were still working or had checked out for the night.
We then had to ask for our check 3 or 4 times. After it showed up, no one ever came back to get our credit card. Finally I took both my card and the check up to our waitress on the way to the men’s room. When I came back, they had left a credit card processing device at our table. After another 10 minute wait, and no one showing up, I just ran the card through the machine myself and we then left.
We never saw or heard from a manager. Even though the food was good, it was One of the most poorly managed dining experiences I have ever had. All of this is easily correctable with a manager and a trained wait staff, but the manager has to actually come to work and oversee the cooking and wait staffs.
We ordered 6 different dishes. Every one was delicious! The service was outstanding, very helpful without being annoying. We loved this place and will go back.
Loved it... great vibe, great food served in a timely manner
Great place to have ramen! The short rib ramen is worth coming back for. The soju drinks were also very good.
Very friendly service. Interesting food well prepared. Music is loud bu they will turn it down.
We were the only ones eating outside, and midtown is pretty quiet. Food was delicious. Staff was friendly and informed. Only improvement would be if there were heaters for outside dining. Can't wait to return.
It's a big space and seemingly little traffic in quiet midtown. I hope the location survives.
Excellent food and service. The dumplings are amazing. I couldn’t stop ordered more.
So glad we stopped here. NYC is working it’s way back and the folks at this location are doing their part to make NYC a special destination.
Had a great time here with my son.
One of the best spots in the city, will go again in the future
Comfort and delicious food with good and moderately quiet ambience.
Good covid protocols, attentive and friendly staff, great food as always
We were seated outside in the tent for lunch. Nice set up with plenty space between tables and heaters. The food was good but not unique from what i tried. The drinks are VERY expensive. $15 for a small glass of wine. Be careful as this can bring your bill very high pretty quickly.
Excellent food; well seasoned and beautifully presented. Great value! Prompt, courteous service.
I was so excited to read they opened a wagamama in NYC. It was delicious. We ordered the roast duck marine
I ate many times at Wagamama (mostly in the UK) and never have been disappointed. This time, the food was not fresh, and was tasteless. The salad was soft and dry with no dressing. The desert had been sitting on the counter for a while as a skin had time to form on it.
We had a great Valentines Day at Wagamama. We had the edamame with garlic salt and duck gyoza to start and I had the chicken raisukuree and my wife had seared tuna bowl. The food was delicious. Our waiter was very nice.
It was a nice place to go with a party of 4. It was enough space for us and not a lot of people were there. The server was really friendly even though she kinda just left lol. But the food wasn’t that good at all to be honest. It would have been a 5 star experience if the food was good. But for 4 people with meals, sake and liquor the bill wasn’t bad at all. Very affordable.
The service was fantastic! The food was delicious and served quickly!
The COVID safety protocols were appropriate and we felt safe eating in the tented outdoor seating area. We had a heat lamp nearby, so we were comfortable having dinner when it was in the 30's "outside."
But, the food and service were just OK. The bao were good, but the ramen was not exciting. Fine, but not special.
We will probably choose another spot next time.
Always the best, great service and delicious food Thank you
We love Wagamama! We felt it was clean and safe. And tasty.
It’s a clean, modern, and spacious restaurant, and the service was very good. The host was friendly and professional, and the servers, too, were courteous. The only issue I had was the food. It wasn’t horrendously bad or anything, but it should be pointed out that they serve Japanese food as interpreted by, I am guessing, Koreans. For example, the ramen broth was just salty and had no depth—which is a typical Korean rendition of ramen. Overall, everything was a bit on the salty side and there was no sense depth/umami in any of the dishes we got. Still, it is a lovely space they got there, and I will go back for the ambience!
