Wagamama - Faneuil Hall
it’s not just japanese, chinese or korean. it’s a fresh take on great asian fusion food.
our exec chef has been travelling extensively across asia, selecting his favorite flavors and recipes and has given them a modern, nourishing twist, the wagamama way
we believe in eating informally | on long communal benches | together with your friends | when you want. come from work. come in your gym clothes. we call this nourishment from bowl to soul
I came here with coworkers because we had individuals with dietary restrictions (vegan, veg)- and even after telling our waiter that explicitly, our meals were switched. We ordered chicken, and veggie dumplings, they brought the veggie out first and said they were chicken- so the vegetarians missed out because we were told the wrong info. Two individuals with the same meal (but one who ordered extra spicy) were given the wrong meals, even after we asked which was which. The tuna was not good quality, a cocktail was forgotten (then delivered incorrectly). Our waiter took away the dumplings when there were still some on the plate, and the waiter was unfriendly and took no ownership for the mistakes. No thanks, will not be back.
We had picked out menu items based on the information online. From drinks, to appetizers, to main courses, nothing from the website matches the menu. The menu, we were told, was redone months ago. The server was new and made some mistakes and didn’t know the menu well, but he was new and the missing items weren’t his fault. He was very sincere. The food, besides my husband’s ramen was pretty awful. If you’re looking for a fun atmosphere and great food in Boston hit up Hojoko instead.
Disappointed they didn’t have the chicken Itame on the menu but food was good. Service was efficient.
Amazing vegan menu- will definitely return for dinner!
Great flavor. Could have been served hotter ether than warm. Food arrived quickly. Great service!
Ramen bowls were tasty. We were a large party. Wish the food came out somewhat at the same time. 2 were finished when the last three meals arrived.
This restaurant was very good. The waiter was funny and polite and the food was amazing!
We first fell in love with Wagamama in London. Staying on the south coast, we drove all the way to Boston to enjoy. The food is incredible. We had edamame, bao, ramen, pad Thai. And we especially love the thoughtfulness that goes into the kid’s menu items. Simple and delicious for little ones, plus free cococinos (little cups of foamed milk with chocolate syrup)! Simply the best.
I wouldn’t call this a terrible dining experience, but it was far from what we’d expected based on past visits. The host staff was great...we arrived much earlier than expected and the hostess put us on the waitlist and took my number and called me when she had a table for us (a full hour earlier than our reservation). Once we got to the table it was all downhill from there. Service was mediocre, two meals came out right after apps, four more about ten minutes later, and the last meal not until about fifteen minutes after that. Everything was far spicier than normal (4 of us ordered the same thing we always get), and it was hard to flag down the waitress for more water. Food was fine, but honestly, not as good as usual. The only thing different than previous visits was that we were clearly there at a VERY busy time. So I’d say if you can eat there sort of off-hours (late lunch or early dinner) your visit will probably be better.
The service was terrible, we had to get up 3x to ask for things.
The sauce on our food was cold
My child's meal came after everyone else's
Our drinks were weak
Our server seemed too busy to help us. He didn’t acknowledge when our drinks were empty and we felt like we were rushed out of there. Our appetizer was never delivered and everyone’s food came out at very different times. Everyone was done eating by the time my food arrived. Food was ok for what it was, but the drinks were not worth the price.
Great location with a great of variety of Asian dishes. Many were surprisingly spicy without any notice. Disappointing that they were out of so many menu items.
I really don't see what all the fuss is about. It was fine, but expensive for some pretty basic pan-Asian food.
Good fresh food, but service.... could have been nicer.
Restaurant didn’t have our reservation. Claimed they didn’t use open table anymore.
They did not take Sat and Sun reservations.
So I took reservations via opentable on Sun,but it is no meaning.
Hi, I loved the foods by Wagamama Manchester UK branch. Their foods had this "plentiful" look yet very healthy and tasty. The Boston one uses too much sugar, period. If you taste the dishes by Manchester, you cannot feel any artificial sugar taste other than what the veggies offer naturally.
Decided to try this location instead of one that we normally go to. The food was just as good with the exception that my date got her meal and finished it before my ramen arrived to our table. I ordered a side of rice that never came which isnt the biggest deal but its nice when my order is right. My server john was very friendly and nice and kept apologizing for the wait but overall it was a bad experience I still tipped him 25% for trying to make it better. I would reccomend other Wagamama locations if you truly want to experience what this restaurant brings to the table.
I took my nephew to Wagamama after his last day of working with me in Boston for the summer. We lucked out and got a table right on the sidewalk in Faneiul Hall, so we had lots to look at, and there was live music right down the lane. The staff was very kind, sweet and attentive. That really stood out to me. My nephew (16) loved his ramen and ate almost every drop. The duck gyoza were tasty. Not amazing, but yummy. My spicy shrimp and chicken dish as indeed spicy and the presentation was awesome. I probably wouldn't get it again, but I enjoyed it enough. We took home new lemongrass curry dish for my wife, and that was DELICIOUS. Highly recommend that. Overall, combining food, service, seating and ambiance...great experience!
Good food and good service!
Kids loved the options and so did the adults. Really wish we had one near our house. Will definitely be back if we are ever in Boston.
Excellent food with excellent service. The location is great for visiting the Boston Harbour area and street entertainment on an evening.
Unfortunately, this was the worst dining experience I’ve had in years, maybe the worst ever. None of the food came out at the same time. Every app, entre and dessert came separately with long breaks in between. It took over twenty minutes to get a latte. My two boys ordered dessert at the same time and we didn’t find out that one of the desserts was unavailable until 10 mins after my other son was done eating his dessert. The food was good but not good enough to justify the terrible experience. The waiter was very nice. I don’t know that it was his fault. I think he was partially to blame but it seemed like this was just the way it always is there.
This is a particularly good Wagamama. Met a friend here for lunch. Food (as usual) was outstanding for lunch. Friend had the glass noodle salad, and I had udon noodles with chicken. Both were very large, but somehow we both finished. One could do a lot worse!
Found a bug in our appetizer and was told the manager was going to come see us but never did.. didn’t hear anything back about the app until he brought a new app with less in it than we left it with. still never heard anything back until they took it off the check. food otherwise tasted great! sit outside if you can!
