Waalflower Kitchen & Cocktails
Our cocktail menu pairs classic cocktails with modern mixology offering light and uplifting creations. Our bartenders study, and carefully blend spirits together to create a third dimension that enables every cocktail on our list to explode with complexity and exceed all expectations.
Food only Ok, under seasoned. The music was dreadful. We were only there for about 75-90 min and we heard the same 90s play list twice. Service was not good. We sat at the bar and my water glass was empty most of the time and the bar tender practically ignored us. We had to get her attention every time we wanted to order or anything.
Food was good. We had a half portion of rigatoni and it was an ample portion. We had the chickpea fritters for an appetizer and I thought it would be hot, but it was a cold appetizer. It was good but seemed a bit dry. Our waitress was very friendly. We let her know that we had a time constraint and she ensured our dishes were brought out promptly. I would definitely return to try some other menu items. Atmosphere was light and energetic. I had been at a previous restaurant in the same location and thought there was a vast improvement in the decor.
It was Ok. My food was cold when it came up and ended up being reheated. They comped us a beer, but it still kinda kills it. It was also my buddies birthday and they did nothing aside from acknowledging it. It was so/so, I'd try somewhere new before heading back again.
Lots of problems with servers, drinks were slow to come and had multiple servers. Food was ok but did not impress.
Great first time at Waalflower! Really great cocktails and the prices were reasonable for the quality! Will definitely be back!
Great service- host was very attentive and the cocktails are awesome!
Run from this place like your life depends on it! Avoid like the plaque!
We decided to try the Waalflower tonight after seeing so much advertisement on Social media on how amazing this place is and how good the cocktails are. We had a booking for 7:30 and we got there 5 min late. We waited by the door for another 5 min and no one there to sit us down or show us our table. 2 of our friends were already there and since there was no host I thought I will look for them. Got greeted by a waitress asking me what I'm doing in the restaurant?! I said to her we have a booking under my name and 2 of my friends are there already. I found them by the bar. By now it was 7:45 and our table was not ready and they didn't get another table ready. By 7:55 we finally sat down and I get a call at 8PM from the restaurant asking me if I'm still going to make it tonight ! Really?! After waiting to be seated for 20 min and our table still not being ready (by 8:30PM our table was still not ready) you call to see if I'm still coming when I'm already there?! After we sat down no one came for 15 min to offer water or take our order. We ordered with one waitress that said she's busy at the bar and she will send our waitress over. After another 10 min our waitress came to take our order. My friend specifically asked for NO Bacon! in the mussels for religious reasons and she was assured that there will be no pork in her dish.Slowly the food started to come out and the drinks. The drinks were beyond mediocre and the food the same. Our friends drinks didn't show up 30 min after everything came out. We had to go chase a waitress in the restaurant to get the rest of the drinks order.
The rest of my review is on Trip advisor since open table has a limit on the words used. All in all it was horrible !!!
Food was pretty good, service was not fantastic, but OK. Maybe we went in expecting it to be more like Whitehall that used to be there, which resulted in disappointment. The one cocktail we ordered was quite sour, didn't seem particularly well balanced.
Overall, a trendy neighbourhood restaurant with a good drink menu and a mix between casual and interesting dishes.
It is fairly new, so I am inclined to believe they are still figuring a few things out. For example, we ordered dishes to share including chickpea fritters and as a party of four, I would have expected that the waitress suggest we add one more fritter to the dish as the appetizer only comes with three. Also, when requesting suggestions for drinks, it seemed as if the waitress hadn't tried very many of them, so it was difficult for her to recommend anything.
I hope with a little bit of time, these small issues will be resolved. Also, high chairs and a change table would be nice, so that we could visit this restaurant during the week with our little one.
Great food, service and ambiance! Loved that the restaurant allows corkage to bring your own wine. A real bonus.
Really impressed by this new addition to Bridgeland. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. This will be a neighbourhood favourite.
Thank you Lindsay! We appreciate that you took the time to write us a review, and we appreciate the five star rating. We hope to see you again soon! -Steven
Dinner was truly fantastic. We felt welcome the moment we walked in.
Great new restaurant and I would highly recommend giving it a try! Two of us went for lunch and had 4 small plates. The lamb meatballs & burrata were both delicious and my personal favourites. We also had the broccoli & mussels which were very tasty as well. Prices are reasonable and the ambience is amazing!
Went here with my best friend who lives in the neighborhood. Very excited to have a new place so close by as we had been to Whitehall and its successor and sadly I think this one will have the same fate. Made a reservation in advance for mid week but for some reason were seated in the bar. The restaurant, maybe 20% full when we arrived, maybe 30% full when we left - no explanation. Our server, while friendly, did not know the menu at all. They have been open a month and the menu is one page long - can't take too much to know what is in each dish. We ordered the pepperoni flatbread as a starter to share. Our first piece each had no pepperoni. Second piece - none. Waitress came over and we asked if we were given the right flatbread and she said yes - the pepperoni is "under the cheese" which consisted of a tiny bit of parm grated on top obviously after the pizza was cold as it never melted at all. Third piece - success - one thin sliver of pepperoni. I had ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and wow, there was a 2 -3 ounce (maybe) piece of chicken pan fried and not "crispy" as one would expect, on a small bun. After the pepperoni incident I looked to see if there was actually chicken under the small bun and there sat this tiny piece of chicken breast, obviously sliced in half horizontally so that is was only about 1/4-1/3 inch thick. The mayo, onion spread was tasty but this was NOT a fried crispy chicken sandwich and very much a let down. It came with a side salad ( tasty but waaaaaay overdressed to the point there was a pool of dressing in the bottom of the bowl) and fried veggie chips. Cooking 101 says you season after frying anything and these chips while pretty in color could not have been any blander. Total miss on all fronts. Drinks were reasonably priced but very limited (4?) wines by the glass. Just like Whitehall and its successor I think this restaurant has missed the mark and will likely be gone in a few months. Better choices out there. Pass on it

We enjoyed a very nice evening at Waalflower with work colleagues. Unique choices on the menu And wine selections. Our server was very pleasant and well versed in the menu and answered our questions. The restaurant is remarkably decorated and has a great vibe. Looking forward to our next visit!
Obsessed with the decor and theme! What a perfect new spot in Bridgeland! Happy Hour was fantastic - the broccoli was incredible and the drinks were well priced. I’ll be back!

Our first visit and since the restaurant opened. Food was very good and the service was okay. It might have been our server’s first night so we will give her a pass. We went at 5:30 on a Saturday night and there were a few tables. As the night progressed it was packed, which was good to see. I hope it lasts.

First visit to Waalflower. It was a birthday dinner before me and a friend went to a concert. I love this new spot! The cocktails are top notch... and the service is too. It didn’t matter who stopped by our table, our glasses were never empty long.
Drink standouts: Under Milk Wood, Smoked Pina Colada, The Waalflower
Food standouts: Lamb Tartare, Ahi Tuna, Burrata
Also love that they have changed the entrance. Way more visible on the corner instead of the door on the side. I will definitely be back!
Waalflower is an awesome new addition to Bridgeland. The decor inside the restaurant is amazing, updated but still cozy with some of the buildings original charm. We arrived at 4:30 for an early dinner before an event and it was pretty empty, but definitely filling up when we left around 7. Service was great, there was constantly someone around to refill waters, offer refills on cocktails and clear plates. Food was good. Some portions seemed small (tuna, chickpea fritters), others were larger (mussels, pizza). Not a huge menu but I believe it changes seasonally. However everything was fresh and flavourful, you could tell they use quality ingredients. Had the smoked pina colada to drink on our servers recommendation, it was awesome! Not sure if they offer a happy hour but it would be a great incentive to be able to try more of their signature cocktails. Will definitely be back to enjoy the atmosphere as well as work my way through their drink menu.
Pretty impressed with the food and cocktails. One question in my mind is regarding the big ice cubes. Looks great, especially in the glass, I just hope they are as cold as possible so they don’t water down the cocktail so patrons can enjoy them at their leisure.
You may want to relocate the stack of glasses att he bar. They do nothing except get in the way of the bar staff while serving drinks.
Great food.. cool atmosphere... serving staff was helpful with suggestions ..& unique cocktails
Amazing service, food was quick and delicious. Atmosphere was great, beautifully decorated. Most of all the drinks were fantastic
The signature and classic cocktails were wonderful. The food was bold and savory, just the way I like it.
Amazing!!! The cocktails were delicious!!! The food was beyond unbelievable!! We’ve already made reservations for next month
very good food, we had a new waiter named ryan that was awesome and brought out food and drink as it was ready. would certainly go back.
Bright and lively atmosphere. The steak was amazing. They could improve a little on their vegetable offerings. Good Service.
We shared multiple plates and all the dishes were great. Cocktails were equally yummy.
Great cocktails, interesting flavours and takes on everyday cocktails together with some creative features. Food, tapas style.

This new restaurant has so much potential! I think they were still working out some kinks when we went as it’s brand new. The server was super friendly but forgot a few of the groups’ drinks more than once. The food was good (our favourites were the broccoli, tagliatelle, mortadella pie and wings); other dishes had the potential to be great but weren’t quite up to the level of some of our favourite restaurants in the city (flatbread, gravlax, burrata were ok). That said, the cocktails were delightful, the ambience was energetic, and the music was great. Enough reasons to give it another try once they have a few more months under their belt.
Great place awesome location in Bridgeland
Food was good and drinks were unique. Service left something to be desired but we went a week after their opening day so it’s understandable that there may have been a learning curve for their servers. Would recommend for cocktails and snacks with friends!
Would highly recommend this new restaurant. The food is presented with much creativity. The forno oven is a bonus there.
The cocktails were fabulous. The food, which we shared, was great - the chili wings especially. And the playlist in the background was superb.
Thank you Leslie! We appreciate your visit and taking the time to give us your review. We are also big fans of the chili wings! You will have to try our honey sesame flavour next time you're in! We hope to see you at Waalflower Kitchen & Cocktails again soon :) Thank you again, -Steven
