Very authentic Japanese food. Great atmosphere. Staff was very nice but a little bit slow. Fish was super fresh! So glad to find new Japanese spot!
Service was super slow though the place wasnt crowded, the fish wasnt fillet as requested. Language barrier needs to be addressed.
Thank you so much. The dinner was wonderful.
Consistently uber fresh fish offerings for sashimi keep us coming back frequently. The Japanese staff are friendly and welcoming, and seeing native diners reinforces our opinion of the authenticity.
Many places have fresh chilled fish with little flavor because they have been frozen, but here you will taste every nuance of the different fish indicating their freshness. Grilled fish is also excellent. Fried offerings are so so.
There are many Japanese restaurants in the DFW area, BUT not many sushi bars with Japanese chefs.
COME HERE FOR THE FRESH FISH!!!
Much Overpriced, and not really that good..I was hoping we had finally found a good authentic Japanese restaurant in Texas. From what we could tell it was authentic, just not very flavorful.
Did not think the food and atmosphere was worth the price. Near $20 for just one of any of the good sushi rolls. I ended up not needing the reservation - there were very few people there, on a Saturday evening. Food was good, I just wasn't impressed.
Great service and food! This is my third trip and whenever I am in the area I will return most definitely.
Great authentic Japanese food as usual!
Went again twice recently, and have been very disappointed in the restaurant. The menu has mostly changed. Most of the pricier items, Wagyu beef, Yosenabe, even fresh Wasabi (using poor unrecognizable substitute) are now off the menu. The woman manager was argumentative and not providing forthright answers to questions about menu items. This used to be one of my favorites and it is no more. Pity.
The best authentic Japanese restaurant in Plano area.
The great experience started at the door. We decided to have dinner after a errand. We chose Wa because it was close and we had mentioned that we would like to try it some day. We were not disappointed. Although there were lots of well dressed business dinners and special occasions happening, we were greeted warmly in our shorts and jeans. We asked to sit at the bar but were warmly welcomed at their beautiful, well stocked sushi bar. The wine list is small but well stocked, there are quite a few Japanese drinks to start with! And they are very good. We had sushi and salad as a light dinner. It was fresh. Beautifully presented and tasted so very good. One day we will go back for a full special occasion dinner. It is a small and intimate restaurant that is quiet. The sushi bar did have a TV with sports on but the restaurant itself was perfect If you want a quiet meal. They also have very nice small private dining rooms that look to seat 8 comfortably. Enjoy.
Restaurant had very nice ambiance and atmosphere. The food was very fresh and excellent in taste. Portions were good for fine dining price. Highly recommend for those who love sushi and acquired tastes. Suggested for romantic nights, dating, business meetings and special events. Our server, Maria N., was very professional, courteous and genuine in her display of customer service. She was very observant as my drinks never got empty. Pricing is reasonable and I suggest booking reservation on opentable. (Optional) Restroom was clean and even had electronic toilet with dryer feature. will definitely visit again and mark as one of my top 10 restaurants for sushi in plano area. ENJOY!!!
Took very long to get our kitchen dishes served, but sushi was served pretty fast! Foods are great Authentic Japanese food!
Very good food, like eating the quality food in Japan. Great Japanese ambiance, friendly.
While the restaurant boasted a clean environment, the food was lacking in quality. The salmon was flavorless. The toro itself was disintegrating and the roll was poorly constructed. One star for not completely covering the fish in sauce or using cream cheese, but they need to choose higher quality fish. The sake serving size was generous, which also earned a star.
Food was great, however the waitress took forever to bring the bill. Believe she forgot us.
Fantastic food and impeccable service. My husband lived in Tokyo for 8 years and this restaurant as close to a real Japanese experience as one can get in North Dallas.
Great Japanese food even for Japanese.
Interia, and atmosphere is also a good standard for a Japanese restaurant.
The servers were all very kind.
This in an undiscovered diamond. I never even heard of it until it came up as a recommendation. Man amazing sushi
The sashimi tuna was not with the fresh red color I am accustomed to receiving in a great sushi establishment. Service was great as there were only four tables being served
10 years kidney donation!
The sushi was amazing! They have the best eel roll I’ve ever had.
Loved it! The volcano roll and Q.B roll were flavorful and masterfully wrapped. The green apple shaved ice was a perfect end to the meal.
Fantastic true Japanese restaurant in Plano!
Authentic Japanese cuisine with an excellent sushi bar. Food is excellent and service is very attentive without being in your face. A bit pricey if you get into the sushi or sashimi but on level for the quality. They have a "Chefs Choice" at the sushi bar where you set a budget and your personal sushi chefs serves a continuous stream of delicacies. Just let him know anything you don't or do want in particular.
Great service and food, but very expensive. Since moving here from LA, this was our first sushi experience here in TX. Maybe it's the norm for the North Dallas area, but the sushi prices are 40% higher compared to LA. Although it was a fantastic meal, it wasn't worth the price. Maybe we are just naive about the cost to import fresh fish to TX.
I’ve been here several times, usually w/ delicious food and great service. Saturday night’s dinner with my daughter was unfortunately not one of them. Service was disengaged, young waitress was borderline rude, just walked away from my daughter when she was asking a question about her sushi roll. Food was not great. My daughter sent one of her rolls back because it did not meet the menu description, and it was sent back hastily constructed. The Japanese beef was cold and completely raw when it first arrived, sent it back, and it was hotter, but was still very fatty, and barely cooked. I had ordered it previously, so knew what it should have tasted like. Very disappointed in the experience because I had previously enjoyed the restaurant the last 3 times I was there.
We were the only customers when we came in at 6:45p on a Saturday. Service was good, friendly, and helpful. The food quality, especially the freshness, was poor. Won't be back, given the lack of freshness - can't mess around with that when dealing with raw fish.
Awesome diner! Chef took amazing care of us with a quite traditional Omakase meal.
Will definitly go back next time I'm in town.
This restaurant is still relatively unknown, and that's a shame. We had an outstanding experience all around. The sushi (volcano rolls and salmon rolls) was very fresh, tasty and spicy as I ordered it. The grilled fish (salmon) was just about perfect, as were the sides. The waiter was friendly, helpful and very attentive without hovering. Authentic Japanese run restaurant, much better than many others in the Plano area. A beautiful new facility, the ambiance was as good as it gets. Highly recommended...try it!
Extremely fresh and delicious food. We stuck to mostly fresh fish sushi, rolls and sashimi. All items were lovely and very fresh. Service was fine if maybe not very warm, but I will go back for the food.
Authentic Japanese, swanky chic! Fresh.
Great food, great services
Food was delicious, very knowledgeable and courteous servers. We will definitely be back!
A very authentic menu and experience. Highly recommend
Fantastic sushi. Fish was fresh. The Toro was outstanding as was the Aji.
I would strongly recommend this place.
To me, it’s the best and most authentic Japanese restaurant in Plano-Frisco so far. It’s pricey, but I guess it’s normal and expected nowadays in the Dallas area.
The food was excellent! Fresh and tasty.
Great service and ambiance.
We were greeted with smiles and friendliness. Our server was attentive yet not obtrusive. The menu was interesting and the food was very good. We plan on returning soon.
