Great food and service! I was a little confused about the menu choices were different on the weekend versus the weekdays. I had scoped out the menu online ahead of time and had some items in mind I wanted to try that weren't currently offered. When I inquired they were happy to make them.

They advertised being open on Christmas. They suggested reservations, generally meaning they anticipated a full house.
So why then did they only staff one person for both the kitchen and the bar? In a restaurant that serves labor intensive cuisine?
They also had 2 waitstaff and no host.
We arrived at our reservation time and were seated promptly. From there is was just longer and longer waits. 5 minutes for the menu, 15 minutes for the order to be taken, and then the food never arrived. We waited 45 minutes and 5 out of 6 tables got no food while more patrons were coming in. The one table that did get food got it one plate at a time.
My companion walked by the kitchen 2 times and saw no one in there either time.
We put money for our drinks on the table and left.
The ambiance was nice except for some seriously jacked wires being held together with messy gaffers tape on all the hanging lamps. (We probably would not have noticed but we had plenty of time to look around.) The staff we interacted with were very pleasant.
I wish I knew what the food was like. I can say they have really poor planning/forecasting skills. Not a good thing for a cuisine so heavily reliant on freshness.
I may be back to give them another chance. Maybe not.

This was the second time I dined at Kuu. Perhaps it was because this was Christmas Day but the restaurant was only a quarter filled, yet we ended up waiting a good 30 - 40 minutes before our dinner was served. A couple at the next table ended up leaving and not waiting for their food. The food portions were smaller and lackluster than the first time I had lunch at Kuu despite this being dinnertime. The server was friendly though. The disparity of the food and wait time in the two times I dined at Kuu was huge.
