Great experience. Everything I would expect from those voltaggio brothers. Sumptuous food, fun atmosphere and fun bar area.

I’ve been to Vucania twice in the last month. It’s possibly the best spot in Mammoth, and definitely the best Italian. The food is ALWAYS good, no matter what you order. The vibe is cool, the portions are great. The fish is always good, the pizza is fantastic, it’s just solid. And it’s a really fun place to hang out. I do not drink alcohol anymore but friends I’ve gone with love the cocktails. I’ve gotten the same server twice-named Ella- and she is excellent. You will not get in without a reservation. At least I never have, it it is worth planning for. Great spot.

Salads were tasty and good portion although pricey. Server seemed a bit overwhelmed at times when room filled up. Need to change up the wine glasses from low balls to stem wine glasses. Bread was ok but a bit dry. Best to serve with olive oil and vinegar on side and perhaps have pizza dough type rolls ? Octopus was excellent, shrimp in the scampi was great but pasta and pesto sauce was underwhelming , chicken parm was excellent, wine selection and tastes were excellent,

This was our first time at Vulcania and it did not disappoint! Everything we ordered was delicious. The calamari appetizer was very unique with a combination of flavors and maybe the best we have ever had. The Parmesan churros on the Caesar salad were to die for. Lamb bolognese ravioli was fantastic and our kids loved the cheese pizza. We will be back next time we are in Mammoth!

Don't waste you money. The service and flavors were ok, but other than that, not worth it. The waitress told us the dishes were meant for sharing. However it's not easy to share 5 small ravioli and at $26 that isn't even funny. They also charged us $14 for three pieces of crusty bread and pesto. Then they would not accept our Ikon Passes for the promised discount, even though this restaurant is owned by Mammoth Mountain. Overall, this place was a huge disappointment and it felt like we were being gouged.

Some things were really good, some were just okay, and some were bad. Standouts were the calamari and spicy tuna and lamb ravioli. Shredded salad their take on spaghetti o’s are nice. The turkey tetrazzini was not good. Very salty and I’m sure the turkey skin was meant to be crispy but it wasn’t at all and was a real turnoff. Expected more for the price point.

Beautiful but still casual atmosphere, busy place, mixed feelings on the food. Good specialty cocktails (not as sweet as the standard versions). Prosciutto mozzarella appetizer was so delicious and quality; the accompanying rolls were not fresh, texture not the hearty European style expected, but more like stale Parker house. We were starving and ate every crumb anyway. Turkey tetrazzini was more of a riff on the classic. Was good but not nearly as good as my homemade version! The “gnocchetti” (I think they called them) were really more like tiny conchigliette as opposed to the expected dumplings/gnocchi. Mushrooms were yummy, but without the classic cheese sauce. Not overly expensive (for Mammoth) so no actual complaints here. Did the job and great server!
