When Vulcania opened it was good as would be expected from Michelin star chef owners. However there has been a consistent decline ever since. The latest experience was a real disappointment, calamari was like rubber bands soaked in grease. Cheese ravioli was supposed to be in a brown butter sage sauce but was overcooked floating in a puddle of what looked to be butter but had no flavor with a couple of burnt sage leaves on top. Hopefully the chefs will realize the problem and fix it. For now not worth the price or gastronomic challenges.

At last! An excellent Italian red in Mammoth. Their Magherita pizza ranks with the best I’ve had and the octopus and Italian spicy tuna appetizers were first rate. As was the House Martini. Clearly one of the best restaurants in town.

This was our first try at Vulcania. It was my birthday and I wanted to give it a try. Excellent service, wonderful ambiance, and absolutely yummy pizza. We wish this restaurant would be open for lunch or at least open earlier than 5:00. The bar area is really pretty with the lighting and offered plenty of chairs. We sat at a high top table. The cauliflower appetizer was delicious, too. We will definitely be back again!

Our dinner at Vulcania was amazing - delicious cacio e pepe pizza, a super fun (and tasty) take on spaghetti-o's (they even come in a can!!!) and the craziest but excellent take on chicken parm. Definitely recommend if you're looking for upscale Italian in a trendy setting.

We had a fantastic dinner at Vulcania! The service was terrific and the food was delicious (the tuna and octopus appetizers were great, as was the pizza). They have an excellent wine selection. Reservations are a must. This is a great addition to the Village and Mammoth scene. We’ll definitely be back!

We have been hoping for a restaurant offering a special dining experience at Mammoth for decades. Sadly, we were disappointed again. Monday night, very few diners, one would expect an outstanding experience. The table service showed a lack of training and oversight, no surprise since the apparent manager spent most our time there chatting around the bar with three or four staff members who apparently had nothing better to do. Never saw him even glance at any of the tables to observe how service was proceeding - were the tables being cleared, were the diners looking around for service, did the table need anything. Our waiter was pleasant and meant well, but seemed to lack training. Didn't ask about a second cocktail order or our wine preference (after ordering dinner, he was asked to leave the wine list, making it clear we would be ordering wine), or otherwise seeing if we had needs between initial drinks and appetizers and the arrival of dinner. As his tables were eating, our waiter would walk by the tables but seemed never to look at the table or make eye contact with the diners to see if they had any needs (I needed another glass of wine). Food was acceptable but overpriced and certainly not the "wow" one would expect with the Voltaggio brother's names on the front door. We've been skiing at Mammoth since the mid-1970's - long enough to remember having to side-step up Chair One. Back then there was little reason to leave the condo for dinner, except maybe to go to the Charthouse. We hoped the development of the Village would give Mammoth visitors a reason to go out and enjoy strolling about shopping, drinking and having a memorable meal. That hope remains unfulfilled.

My husband and I enjoyed our meal very much. It was his first time and my second, and we will definitely be going back. The food was so flavorful and our server, Sam, was excellent and knowledgeable, his wine recommendations were on point.

The calamari was very chewy. The kale salad was too lemony. And the fungi pizza had no flavor. It was an overall disappointing experience. The service was top-notch.

Wonderful dinner! Our server was excellent and already was aware of my cilantro allergy and had discussed with the chef. I’ve been in restaurants where the staff is flippant about food allergies. I was very pleased with Juliette’s sensitivity. The service and food was great! Highly recommend.

What a treat! This restaurant was amazing! Our group tried an array of apps , pizza, pasta and entrees. Loved everything and wish we had another night to enjoy Vulcania, still thinking about what a wonderful experience we had!

Not really a bang for your buck. Let me start with what was good. Beautiful restaurant, very pleasant staff, Drinks are wonderful but pricey, appetizers were very good (smoked mozzarella Fritta) main dishes are overpriced for what you get. I got Rigatoni which was basically in flavored tomato soup. Disappointing. Husband got pork chop which was tasty but only served with greens for 46.00. Cheesecake dessert was yummy but small.

Loved it all expect for our server. Her attitude was unfriendly and she seemed like she didn’t want to be there. We had to wait a long time for drinks and it took a long time for plates to be cleared. The food however was excellent and we will be back again! Delicious! Great job Voltaggio Brothers!

Depending on what your looking for could be hit or miss. We went one night with a finicky eater and we left. The menu is limited and a bit foofy. For lack of a better word lol Went back another night with a more adventurous crowd and we all loved it! The food was amazing! Definitely will go back!
