Vue Bar and Restaurant
In the past I’ve had a great experience at this restaurant. The city lights are beautiful. We were a party of six with a two-year-old and an eight month old. They had only one highchair so the two-year-old had to sit in a regular chair with his eyes at table level. We were seated in a separate room with a very large party. The noise was loud but the view was beautiful. We waited 45 minutes after ordering for bread and salads and soup. They arrived after we went to the front desk to complain. The halibut and spareribs were very good but the turkey was very salty. The first course was a choice of unpopular choices. The sides varied but most of the dishes were not tasty. The little ones grew tired and as a result we did not have time for dessert. They boxed ours and when we arrived home we were surprised to find the deserts were so small that you could finish them in less than three bites. The night was disappointing.
Best restaurant in the area. We enjoyed the beef appetizer and cocktails. And the view can't be beat.
Made a reservation, but no host at the host stand. Seating was choose whatever. Very noisy bar. Food options limited. Got a burger & it was just ok. Ordered the strawberry basil margarita & was told they were out of basil. It’s lipstick on a pig. It wasn’t crowded, though. I wouldn’t go back. Too many great options in LBC to go somewhere subpar.
Superb in every way. Enjoyed my husband's birthday. Thanks!
Vacation to celebrate our 3rd Anniversary.
This is a seriously cool place. It was empty. Once I was there, I understood why. The guy who sat me was super cool. The server was nowhere to be found. When you asked for anything, once you finally flagged her down, it seemed like you were inconveniencing her. The ahi tuna appetizer was phenomenal, everything else was meh. We had a couple of flat breads and soup. The vue is cool, and it should be a much better, much cooler spot. They could also use a decor update ;)
BLTA +E had no Avocodo. Server only told us they were out after we asked. Sneaky.
Made the reservation for my daughter who was visiting from New York and she was meeting long term friends from the LA area...she said food was great and drinks too. Also they had a great view window.
Excellent service and food they even went out of there way to be helpful for makenit a great night.
I was referred to this spot by a friend for her birthday and it’s great bar scean and bar menu works for small groups. Finally to my partners doe date night and we both enjoyed the food and the view . It was cold outside but warm inside.
Menu was extremely limited and limited and the Cobb salad had a terrible salad dressing on it with horseradish that was inedible. The view was great.
The restaurant was beautiful. It had a great layout and scenic to say the least. The server seemed overwhelmed with the customer volume and took a long time to take our order. My wife's steak was served approximately 10minutes before my salmon. To add on to my frustration my salmon was undercooked. I wasn't given a chance to express my displeasure or given another option because another host took my untouched meal with no other recommendations. The only fast service that I recieved from VUE was getting a bill that I never requested from yet another host that never introduced himself to me except with a smile. In the future, don't overbook, get better staffing on peak days and hours, and avoid miss cues and delays with food. Thanks for an Awesome 130$ date night.
Understaffed. Service very slow. Food mediocre. Décor kind of industrial. Not very upscale.
I would recommend for its view, its not quite 360 degree's but its close. Also I would highlight the restaurant is on the Penthouse level of the Holiday Inn hotel. I didn't know that before booking it for a business meeting with a new male colleague.
This place was a mess, service food, you name it.
last minute Christmas Eve day brunch with mom and sis who just got back from Canary Islands cruise and rest of family from aunt’s funeral. Staff was attentive, accomodating, professionable and personable. However, food took awhile... our guess was not enough cooks for the holiday. Everyone was happy/satisfied with their meal. Three egg omelette with everything in it was perfect! Not runny, not dry like other brunch places esp with so many ingredients. Pot of coffee per person offered. Bacon cooked to order (crispy as requested. I usually don’t like country potatoes but theirs was good. Would like to go back and try dinner there. Wonderful view of Long Beach!
This has a great view of the planes coming into the airport. Service is a little slow and they sometime bring the wrong meal to your table or you see your meal being delivered to the next table...
Food is good- nothing memorable.
drinks are good... desserts are not great... not different..
I met someone for a casual business lunch here; it was perfect. I had the lobster mac; that can be heavy, as Vue did it, it wasn't, just delicious. We were also left alone to chat, while had prompt service when we needed it. Getting there was slightly confusing as i didn't see a sign outside; it's in the hotel at the top (penthouse)
The Lobster Mac n Cheese was amazing! Our server Miguel was very attentive. They were able to modify ingredients for personal taste. Definitely eating here again. Had something for all tastes on the menu.
Met friends there for dinner. Sat promptly by window. Service was personal and efficient. Food was delish and good value. Will return :)
Overall, my friend and I had a nice time. Our servers Manuel and Geoffrey were friendly and gracious but service was slow and lacking - table bread never arrived, timing of dinner order was late, asked for clean silverware repeatedly, and we had to ask for the obvious condiments with the burger and fries. It was no huge deal bc we were enjoying each other's company. Otherwise, VUE is comfortable, pleasant, modern, has great views (day or night), easily accessible, has decent-tasting and reasonably priced food, and casual (jeans and shirt). Also, the Holiday Inn is easy to access and self-parking is free. I plan to return with my mother; I know she'd enjoy the views and food.
The view is exceptional. The food was just OK. Had great service.
The servers were excellent and fun to talk to. The food was absolutely great and plenty to eat. The ambiance was good with back ground music and a wide view for the area 13 story's up. We will return. Thank you.
The food was not very good, service was a little sparce, nice view of course. Maybe just come have drink in bar.
Saw an ad for Vue Bar and Restaurant and decided to have breakfast there with friends. On the Penthouse Level of the Holiday Inn. Great view of the city and airport. A quiet spot above the hectic city below.
Very friendly and accommodating staff and excellent service.
Ordered the omelet and it was the best I have ever had--besides the eggs, at least 10 additional meat, cheese and veggie ingredients. So delicious.
You have the option of ordering from the menu or choosing the breakfast buffet.
They also offer lunch , dinner and happy hour. Looking forward to going back.
Love this place . The food is great and service wonderful.
The view was great.
Impossible to have a conversation, because the noise level was too excessive.
The remodel looks great. The food was amazing, and the view is amazing.
Madea last minute reservation on a Friday afternoon because it was near the airport. I wasn't sure what to expect when I showed up, as it was a restaurant in a hotel. I was pleasantly surprised to find it was on the top floor of the restaurant and had a great view. I dined early afternoon and the service was spot on and the mall delivered promptly (cheeseburger cooked to order and sweet potato fries, gluten free). I would definitely eat there again. The big drawback was it was raining and no way park and get in without getting wet. But how often is there heavy rain in CA?
Other than the fact that they pulled a Prix Fixe menu on us with absolutely no warning whatsoever (and i was specifically looking for this when i made the reservation because it was Valentines Day) everything else was pretty decent. We had the Filet Mignon and Lobster and our bill was $190. The view was pretty cool. So... yea other than the fact that they BAIT AND SWITCHED me which should be ILLEGAL i would totally recommend this to anybody who needs to find a quick solution for the anniversary problem.
Amazing! The ambiance, service and food were spectacular!!
Very nice and clean, view was nice but nothing special. Went on a Saturday night, not very crowded. Menu was not very big but the food was very good, l had the lamb shank and my wife had the steak. Will definitely be back, we want to try the happy hour.
Had a great time! Music in the bar area created a great atmosphere for our Friday night. The food was very tasty.
Great Service and Food. wish they had a better wine list
Very mediocre, at best. There were 7 of us and all our food was lukewarm to warm. One of us ordered pizza and it was literally cold in the middle. He sent it back and it came back hot. Food was really a letdown, although it looks great on the plate.
Great food & many options! Creative, small, well done menu.
Pretzel buns too heavy. Ice tea was terrible-apparently not brewed. Even the water had a funny chemical taste. French Fries were excellent.
