The food was mediocre, but the outside dining and area is nice.
Absolutely perfect spot for lunch before the theatre, the food was incredible and service was awesome.
Very accommodating to our group
Great place to eat before a show at HSC. Very good service and delicious food.
Food is excellent. This is an excellent spot for Pre-Hartford Stage Meal. On a busy night, the wait staff got us out just in time to make the opening curtain. Chef is the best!
Good offerings on the food and beverage menus. We started with the antipasto for four. Great selection of meats, cheeses, etc. we’ll get that again. Very good entrees. I ordered the chocolate pasta. I was skeptical but thankfully I listened to our server’s recommendation. Chocolate color, not flavor. Instead, it was more of a rich flavored pasta. I really enjoyed it and will order it again. The staff was very good and the chef came out to check on us. We’ll be back!!
Terrific spot for dinner before a play at Hartford Stage, which is directly across the street. Lots of food options—my favorites are the tapas plates.
Great atmosphere. Consistent food. Super location for a pre-show meal.
Dinner before a play . The theater is across the street and diners get a discount on the meal. The salmon with grapes is my favorite.
Very solid Italian food. Nice atmosphere, great drinks. Definitely recommend it!
I absolutely recommend this restaurant! The food here was, for the most part, delicious. My wife had shirmp scampi, and I had the Bolognese. Both were cooked perfectly, although I found my noodles to be a bit too al dente. That's more a matter of personal preference, but make sure you speak up if you want your pasta a little softer. The portions were hefty but not excessive. We also had a calamari appetizer but this was not nearly as impressive as the pasta. Service was great. The bartender makes an awesome Manhattan. My only major issue was that the seats near the windows had a lot of cold air coming into them. Wear a sweater just in case.
Hands down, one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. Great food, great service, and an all-around great experience.
Convenient, great friendly service, nice chef’s complimentary amuse- bouches, wonderful food
Roasted artichokes were wonderful. Less satisfied with eggplant parmigiana, sauce was very good but it felt like a ‘deconstructed’ version. Other entree was a seafood fra diavolo, again sauce was wonderful and seafood beautifully cooked.
Last night some of the things we ate were not quite as good as in the past. Could be due to a different preparer. Will go again and hope it matches previous meals.
Busy restaurant tonight-all tables full. Took a bit to get our wine but after that food arrived fairly quickly. Server was attentive
Great choice for before an xl center event. Restaurant did well serving everyone quickly, and the food was great.
First visit here and we will return. Steps from the XL Center. Service and food were excellent. We were attending an event at the XL Center after (as were many other diners) and given the busyness of the place I was very impressed.
Excellent as usual. Great service, outstanding food. And we could hear each other!
Perfect place before Hartford Stage. Food delish. Service excellent.
Food and service were very good. We had the shrimp scampi special and the salmon. Desserts were very good as well. Nice beer/wine/cocktail selections. The restaurant was packed due to a UCONN game night. We were seated in the back corner behind the bar. This area is a bit dark and lacks the ambiance of the main dining area. Hopefully, we get seated out front next time around. All in all still a good experience.
We had a nice meal before a show at the civic center. We were a bit rushed out because of an incoming private party, but we knew that in advance thanks to 3 calls from Logan. We liked the half price wine bottles on Wednesdays.
Food was just OK. Service was subpar. Waitress checked in on us once every 20 mins and far from enthusiastic when she did.
I don’t give many 5’s so 4’s are excellent fro me. Room is very nice, service friendly and helpful and most importantly our food was interesting and delicious
Food was like warm and cold before finished. Disappointed. I always felt they were over priced, but good location near Hartford Stage, but I think after visiting on multiple occasions and the food being cold, now i felt it was a plain rip off. $170 INC Tip for 3 with wine and 2 cocktails and pasta entrees at $26 each.
Food was delicious and fresh. I thought it was a little overpriced, esp. the drinks, but I would go there again.
One of the best restaurants anywhere. All of that food is fantastic and the service is second to none.
We loved this place!! The food was SO good and it came out in a timely manner. Most importantly the service was perfect & it was such a cozy cute spot!
The food was fantastic but the service was just ok. We had one waiter and then he kept switching off with another waitress and at one point it looked like he was bartending. It made it very confusing not having one dedicated waitstaff for our table, that being said they were both very nice and did a good job. Other then that we had a great time!
I very much enjoy V's. They have a nice varied menu of pizza and pasta and other entrees. The pasta is really to die for -- it's just so good. Homemade. And the atmosphere is always great. It's a gem in Downtown Hartford.
Italian food at its finest cooked by a great chef. Service was a little slow this time but hey, that happens once in a while. The chocolate pasta is incredible. Also recommend the crab cakes. Best I've ever had. If you love good Italian food, then this is a definite restaurant to put on your list to visit if you have never been. I always look forward to going when I'm in the area. Right across from the XL Center and the Hartford Stage.
Great place for an excellent pregame (Go Huskies!) or event dinner. Love the cooking stone entrees. Wonderful waitstaff and delicious food. We’ll be back soon!
We had a delicious dinner of salad and fish (salmon and monkfish). This was our first visit to this restaurant and selected it because we had tickets to Hartford Stage which is right across the street. They were very busy and there was a little bit of a wait for our entrees but we were out in plenty of time for the show. It was a delightful surprise and we'll certainly be back. Can be a bit noisy but if you ask for a quieter spot, I'm sure they'll accommodate.
My go to Italian in Hartford.
There is no place better or more convenient for a meal before going to Hartford Stage. My go-to dish is the pasta Bolognese with the pasta made with chocolate.
Seafood special was short on seafood and too long on pasta. Salmon was dry.
Food was just OK. Service was above average, but a "just OK" food experience is a deal breaker for me..
Good dining experience.
The food was amazing and so fresh! Drinks were great. Great service and the ambience was so relaxing! Went for my fiancé’s 30th birthday and he wants to go back again.
