V's Italiano Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
V’s never disappoints! We try to stop every time we are in the KC area. The staff goes out of their way to mke us feel welcome and all our needs are meant. The create your own Pasta and Eggs Benedict are our family’s favorites.
The Mimosa and Poinsettia’s are delicious as well!
We were 3 couples of good friends getting together for an evening of catch up conversation and a nice dinner. It was quiet enough to hear each other talking without having to yell and we had a nice experience.
We all enjoyed our appetizers especially the escargot with puff pastry. Our dinners were all very tasty. My husband and I had Cippino. The seafood was cooked perfectly, but the sauce could have had a little more zip. I had tiramisu for dessert and I will certainly order it again it was very good.
The atmosphere is a little dated but the restaurant was clean. Our waiter Richard was helpful and served us timely on a busy Saturday night. The only thing negative was no perccio in the bar for me. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their cocktail or wine. V's has a large will lit parking lot.
We will go back and I will recommend it to friends.
The Bruchetta was nothing more than burnt rounds of bread with a side of Picco and the stuffed Artichoke had stuffing but no leaves with meat as we expected. The prime was tender but no flavor and the Angel Hair pasta was like mush; really overcooked.
Cheryl made a great recommendation on the wine but never did she offer coffee or after dinner drink. She did not make me pay for the pasta dish and offered a dessert to appease.
This was not our first dinner there and it was NOT anything like the first one.
My husband and I just moved to Independence from CA. We were looking for somewhere to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We looked up Italian restaurants on the internet and found Vs it had great reviews so we decided to try it. We were not disappointed! Very quaint and cozy, great service and the food was phenominal. The owner even came over and inroduced herself. We will definitely be back!
We have this kid free weekend away as a gift from our dad. Looking for a place to eat and knowing our dad is pretty particular not just any place would be acceptable... came across V’s and everything pointed to being a place that would satisfy and exceed his expectations. We were right. Highly recommend
There were 4 people in our group. Two people enjoyed the food and said it was delicious-pasta for one and Parmesan chicken for the other.
Another person ordered a specialty pizza and it did not taste well at all. In fact, he only ate two small slices-took the rest home in a box and threw it away. The fourth person had house salad which would have been decent if it hadn’t been soaking in their house sauce.
The prices are high. Service was efficient but not very friendly.
Atmosphere is fine for older restaurant.
Rated #2 on Trip Advisor, we decided to try when traveling thru. New friends we recently met went with us. We were seated promptly with our reservations at a nice table for four. Our waiter was excellent,on top of everything without interrupting. Bread & salads were brought & when special requests were made (additional salad dressing, alfredo sauce instead of red, etc) they were handled with no issue or additional cost. Food was very tasty but could have been served hotter. Large portions so enough of all except lasagne were taken home for additional meal. This place has been around for a long time & has many regulaeprs & Ms V is still there some. Decor is nice & lighting is muted but enough to read the menus. Parking is adequate & you can drive up to let guests out. We would go again when we're in Independence without hesitation.
This was the best experience we could've asked for. We will definitely return for some special occasion soon. The food was amazing, the atmosphere is awesome. I just loved this restaurant. The manager stopped by our table a couple times even to apologize for the wait on our food. We didn't care because we were enjoying the place and ourselves. Thank you!!
Had heard of V's for many years but had no idea that it was so wonderful! What a great surprise! I had clam linguini and it was perfect. Pumpernickel and Italian bread in the basket super fresh. Impeccable service from authentic Italian waiter and support staff. Will definitely be back!.
We (our family) love V's for good, authentic Italian food. Portions are generous, ladies can take half your plate home and have plenty to eat. Of course, the guys have to prove they can eat it all, right?
Rum cake came with all 4 dinners, and we always look forward to it, a signature item for V's, always tender and delicious.
A great evening out, great food, and the prices are reasonable as well.
We had a party of 17, ranging from a three year old to grandparents in their late sixties. The Sunday Brunch had food and drink for every age, all excellent! The service was perfect from our personal server to the chef who cooked individual pasta dishes for many of us. We experienced an ideal retirement celebration!
Although styled as an Italian Restaurant, V's also has outstanding steaks and prime rib (we had the latter). Also, a nice selection of wines. Our waiter, Richard, was the consummate professional, both attentive and personable. He also knew that you always "Take the cannoli." :-) Next time we are in Kansas City area, we will dine here again.
We came in with friends following the total solar eclipse earlier in the day. The food was very good, the wine was excellent, and the ambiance was very relaxing and welcoming. We all enjoyed our meals, including appetizer, desserts, wine, and after dinner drinks. We will be back.
Well, my fellow Open Tablers, your reviews directed me to the right place. We were in town for the eclipse and found this restaurant near our hotel. We were very happy with the friendly atmosphere. Food: a pasta pesto dish exploded with flavor, and a manicotti dish sported a most fragrant and intense marinara sauce. The two seafood manicotti that I had were a little disappointing, being filled with sad little overcooked shimp parts and covered with an indifferent white wine sauce. But my 6 oz filet mignon was cooked precisely to specification (medium rare, of course) and tasted rich and smoky.
Perhaps the best part was our server Jessica, a brightly smiling nursing student. She was ready to engage in the friendly banter I tend to strike up with whomever is (un?)lucky to be waiting on my table. I hope her bosses read this and pass along my thanks to her for being so welcoming to out-of-towners and providing such excellent service.
