Food was great. We went in at 7pm on a bank holiday Thursday. We were the only customers for a while. The menus were printed on A4, poor print quality and different to the web site. Prices were wrong and waiter wasn't clear on options, though thoroughly pleasant. He said the portions were large, being adult male athletes, we found they were not. The food was very well cooked and tasted great. Jerk chicken thighs were a winner. Poor selection of non alcohol drinks was a let down.

They seem to be having a bad time... got there and two young girls were running the floor whilst only one bloke was in the kitchen cooking (or trying to...) Our waitress made it known to us that the brisket was off the menu tonight as they’d been getting complaints that it was tough and inedible... (surely low and slow brisket would always fall apart in your mouth?) so that was a bummer. We ordered two starters and an Atlas(Tray is meat) each... if the food had come out a fast food window I’d have gotten it but the halloumi fries were soggy and the burnt ends rubbery enough to rub out a pencil line. Our mains... to be fair they were OK. Nothing special but not inedible which is not what you’re hoping for when you’re recommended a ‘decent’ bbq place far out from where you live. Better quality meat, get another chef as one bloke can’t run a kitchen all by himself, train the floor staff to make better excuses for when things are off the menu (not to say the foods crap...) Could have been something beautiful. Also, came solely on the recommendation that the nachos were the best in Bristol and they weren’t even on the menu! Good luck and I hope you sort the kinks out at your joint!

An absolutely fantastic dining experience. Staff were very friendly and knowledgable about their menu, offered advice and recommendations, and my god! The food was amazing! Definitely my new favourite restaurant in Bristol, keep an eye out, we’ll be coming back! Ps. Definitely try the burnt ends!

We are both vegetarians so a smokehouse may seem and add choice, but we really enjoyed our meal at VooDoo-Q. There was a good vegetarian selection and the food was delicious. The staff made us feel very welcome and looked after us well. We intend to return with our sons (who do eat meat) as the menu for them looks good too.

With only one chef and one waitress it made our wait time more than expected. Service was as good as it could be given the pressure she was under. Food was ok but have had a lot better from other local smokehouses. Probably wouldn’t revisit and probably wouldn’t recommend. Shame as we visited after a recommendation from a friend. I guess you can’t please everyone...

Very good smoked meats, excellent service and vibrant decor. Not busy, just after Christmas and students not back. A few menu items unavailable
