A bit noisy. Good overall.
We were a party of 14, and the service was incredibly friendly and helpful, the beer tasty and great variety, and food delicious. Family friendly, I would recommend this for a small or large party!
We simply love the wings here, to die for. Very much recommend this restaurant for food and ambiance.
I loved being able to book for our meet up group via Open Table. I was very glad we had an advanced reservation because Von Ebert's was hopping that evening! Our server was great and checked on us regularly. Those of us that ordered food enjoyed our orders - everything was tasty! The beer is excellent if you enjoy German style brews. There are IPAs available as well.
A couple of things to note: Von Ebert's does have a full bar, but I never saw a cocktail listing. However, it could have been buried on the beer menu OR you may need to go into the bar area to order. It would have been great to have a full bar menu available in the dining area so everyone knows what is available to drink. Since there were a couple of very large groups there the same night, the atmosphere was very loud and boisterous which made conversation difficult at times.
Would definitely return. The beer and food were excellent. Good seating.
Large group of 20 folks staff were great and handled all the orders and drinks great Food was flavorful and appetizers were super
The service was excellent, as was the food. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and even when one of our kids spilled a drink, the staff was super accommodating. Great overall experience, particularly for our group of 8!
Von Ebert Brewing is an easy, chill spot to have a drink and a bite to eat...service is friendly and attentive...delicious food and a good beer/cider list...would recommend Von Ebert Brewing
Great food in an open, modern, brewery. lots of TVs. (I wouldn’t go so far as to call it a sports bar but definitely a good spot to watch a game).
Great food. Good beer. Great place
Going out with kids can be a challenge in Portland as wait times are often too long for the patience the kids have, but we appreciate the relatively low wait time at Von Ebert (it's a massive place). The menu is interesting and the appetizers and entree sized. In fact with 3 adults and 3 kids we simply ordered a variety of appetizers and ate family style (the steak bites were particularly good). The beer list is good, and not overwhelming. The pricing is a touch high, but we'd still go back for all the good points (friendly staff, ample space, tasty food, large portions).
My favorite brewery in Portland - great food and drinks!
this was a good experience for a small group.
The burgers were very good and the fries were hot and crispy
Rude host staff. Refused to honor reservation as they stated it was too busy to pay attention to anything but walk-up business. Will NEVER recommend or visit again.
Our second visit to this restaurant in a week. Good food and tasty beers means we will definitely be back.
Great venue to go to before or after Portland Thorns game. Gigantic Thorns flag hanging from the ceiling.
The chicken strips were great, but the pizza lacked toppings... tomato, more basil... and the captain crunch creme brulee was horrrrrrible. The cereal on top was stale and the custard had a disgusting aftertaste. We both went home & got sick. Not sure if it was the nasty dessert or something in the food. Usually we love this place.
If you like breweries and eating, Von Ebert is a place to taste Portland. Because it was Taco Tuesday, we had the asado and pibil tacos with a flight of beer. Flavorful!
Very good beer, excellent service (all the suggestions were spot on), and hands down the best wings in Portland! Definitely will be a repeat offender!
It is a bar with sports viewing.
Sure twas grand lads
Great local spot for group lunches. Their beer is fantastic as well.
Margarita pizza was awful. A piece of dough with a minuscule layer of sauce, some unevenly spaced blobs of cheese and a tablespoons of fresh basil...some slices with only a small piece of basil on them. Worst was the waiter who did a terrible job of trying to appear pleasant, but by his tone, and facial expression looked like we were inconveniencing him.
First visit here and likely won’t be the last. Very helpful, efficient and friendly servers. Tasty elevated pub/bar food. Family friendly in the dining room area, but definitely lively and hopping in the 21+ bar area. Good beers to boot!
My wife and I brought our 10 year old and we all had a great time. Double smash burger and the citrus IPA was a great start to the Memorial Day Weekend. Great location too in Pearl District.
We were both looking forward to a place with a great burger and a nice cold micro brew to enjoy during our stay. The Von Ebert Brewing did not disappoint! Our server was knowledgeable about the different beers available and he answered all our questions with a great attitude. This was a great experience and the creme brulee topped with Captain Crunch made our night. We will be back.
Great service for our large group for Sunday brunch!
Great casual spot. Their beer selection was great and the food was excellent.
Fabulous place. They handled our group of 21 with no problem. Our waitress was amazing!!
Came here with a large group. We’re happy to split checks which was great
Great place, and great beer! Great waiter who was extremely helpful!
Everyone really liked their food. I enjoyed the brisket sandwich. Great service for our large group with separate checks. Good beer. Would go again
We had a great experience here, I will definitely come again.
This is one of my favorite places in Portland. I visit weekly. It's my Cheers. Highly recommend the smoked wings. You will not regret it.
I wanted to like this place, but the food was just not great. The pozole I ordered was cold and flavorless and my boyfriend's sandwich was drowning in too many different condiments. It was quite loud in there as well.
I will say that the beer was pretty good.
Went to Portland for a soccer game. Beers were too fruity. Not enough Selection in non fruity beers. Food was ok.
The wings are some of the best in Portland.. Burgers good too.
Pretty poor compared to what it was a few months ago. The menu is way more limited than it used to be and the selection was not as good. They ran out of a ton of the beers we tried to order. Our server was not very attentive and took forever to check on us. I really liked this please the two previous times I went but will not be going back since the new changes.
Food was excellent, and it's nice that you can reserve a table. Service was great and food came out quickly. The only downside is the large capacity of the room coupled with no acoustic dampening made it pretty loud to talk.
