Von Ebert Brewing - East
Enjoyable Valentine’s Day dinner
It’s fun, lively and well organized with plenty of people helping out with our large group. The service was fast even though the place was packed. Highly recommend this place.
Great place to join friends. The Happy Hour is great. Wish they would put the macaroni and cheese back on happy hour
Thank you for making our night so memorable. We look forward to coming back soon!!! You are doing everything right!!
Good food, good service. I would go again for the high end pub style food.
We had a party of 10. Two of the meals came 15 minutes AFTER the bulk of the meals were served, one, of which, was a meal for my 3 year old. During that 15 min, we could not even find our server. Then after the two late meals arrived, she was there every 5 min.
She did Give us a free dessert for by brother’s birthday.
Great food. Sat next to the indoor fireplace. It wasnt lit, but a very cool breeze was flowing through it. Asked if they could close the flew. Not only cols they bot close it, they couldn't light the fire either. Made for a chilly birthday dinner. Other than that, ita a great place to eat. Love the pretzel and the impossible burger!
Outstanding steak bites - highly recommended!
Food was slightly over priced, especially happy hour menu. I got the brisket sandwich and it was way too rich. It would have tasted much better without the rich cheese. I ended up only eating the meat and not the bun. Service was great though, especially since we had such a large party.
Great food & value. Our server (Dani) was top notch!
Great beer, wonderful service and very nice outdoor patio seating.
Von Ebert Brewing made our Book Club feel welcomed and so special. We were able to have a lively discussion and have a lovely visit between friends. It was early afternoon and we had the back room to ourselves. We had a yummy lunch, assorted beverages and appetizers. The service was excellent and all the staff were super friendly. We will definitely do again!
Travelers in Oregon in the area to fly out of PDX back home so looking for pub food close to airport hotel
Our server was amazing. Very attentive and knew his menu and beers.
The patio and environment are fantastic. The food is similar to the level of pub food offered at other pub/breweries. The service was a bit slow, I never mind waiting for food so that’s not the problem. The slowness I’m speaking about is acknowledgment, it took around 10 minutes for anyone to even bring water and tell us they would be back, if it were busy this would be understandable but it was a pretty slow evening to where the hostess even chuckled that I made a reservation. So to sit for time without even a “I’ll be right with you” seemed off, especially when one server was at the table next to us speaking to some regulars or friends since it didn’t seem work related.
The view is excellent and the beer is even better!! The wings are like no other and we loved the steak bites!! What a hidden gem on the Eastside!! We will be back!!
We and our friends from Boise, I’d enjoyed our meal & the friendly service.
Deanna & Bob Montgomery
We went during happy hour, 3-6, 9-closing, and enjoyed 4 awesome plates. The smash burger is really big for a happy hour entre and super tasty. The chicken wings were really good with a good glaze and finish, they used like the whole chicken wing so not scrawny pieces. We had the streak bites on top of the ensalata de casa. Great flavors. The streak bites were seasoned perfectly and melt in your mouth. The lemon cilantro vinegerette on the salad made it delicious. Matt Z was our server, the guy knows his stuff and it's very friendly.
Great experience. Had a big party quick service. Friendly great food
Our sever was great over the top friendly and helpful. She has been there since it opened. Severs like that are 1 in 70. Food was great. A little loud, ok
The menu seems different. The food was not good, 5 plates out of 5 not as good as before. I brought people from out of town and everyone was disappointed. Unfortunately I won't be back.
Very friendly place. People and service was really good. Will go again especially after golfing.
Always good food and beer! Service is excellent. The noise level makes it difficult to hear across the table though. Will definitely return.
Food was good. but way to loud to have a conversation with someone. price of food was alittle over the top
Great food and wonderful people! The noise level was a little high. Holding a conversation was difficult at times. The seating was a little to close which I believe lead to conversation difficulties. We always have a good experience though.
good service good food makes for an enjoyable experience.
Went for a birthday dinner. Great food, friendly staff. But it was a bit loud. Overall, a good experience. We would go again.
We had fun here and our server Grace was awesome! I recommend for a good time. Not quite.
They were able to take a last minute reservation (including a special request) through Open Table for a party of 5 (including kids) on NYE and accommodated us quickly and with a smile when we arrived on what was a very busy night. The ambiance and food was great and our server was very patient and calm through it all. Thank you for delivering great food and service with a smile. We'll be back soon!
The food and service has been hit and miss since they opened. But this is our sixth visit, and the service was exceptional. And the food has never tasted so good. I think they have found their groove. There is also nothing comparable like the setting in the old ringside bar.
This was my second time at Von Ebert Brewing. My first experience was mediocre, so I thought I would give them a second chance. Bottom line: I would not recommend Von Ebert to anyone looking for good food or efficient service. Here's the breakdown from our most recent visit:
- Staff never brought us enough menus even though we asked twice.
- Onion rings had too much batter and were over-fried.
- Ditto for the chicken strips.
- The steelhead banh mi was tasteless and the bread was chewy and cold. The fish was warm, not hot.
- The server left off things on two dishes that we had requested.
- There was confusion among the wait staff on who's supposed to serve our table. One woman started to take our order and then another person came over and said this was his table.
On the plus side, the wait staff was really friendly (both our first server and our second server) and looked like they were doing their best. I can't speak to the drinks because I didn't order any, though my husband said his beer was just okay. He also said that his burger was fine.
I'm bummed that Ring Side, which actually served good food, closed and was replaced by a mediocre brewery. And so diners in Portland's east side must continue their search for good food.
Food was amazing and I was very pleased by their gluten free options. Only downside was the noise.
Love the location on golf course, food was good and brew types would like.
