   Overpriced, slow, and, when food arrived, the grumpy food runner carelessly put the food on the small table without moving items out of the way so one skewer fell on the table. With a pout, went back to get a replacement skewer that arrived undercooked. Evelyn, the server, had to take the skewer back to the kitchen to get it recooked.

   The only thing enjoyed was the salad my friend ordered and the alcohol drinks. Our service was slow and our food took forever. Both of us ordered the sea bass which looked more like a flounder filet and tasted mushy. Both of us have ordered sea bass many times and we’re surprised by the look, taste, and texture of our “sea bass.” My Asian pancakes were over cooked and tasteless. We had no time to complain as after an hour and a half of sitting we had to gobble our food and pay to make our theater show in time. We took our dessert, included in the prix fix menu, to go. So disappointed!

   The chicken curry (on changing menu) and crab empanadas were a hit, but my salad was limp and my roast spiced chicken was dry. We were in a rush because of tickets otherwise would have sent them back, edibl;e but disappointing. It's a great space with very nice servers but the food is hit and miss in my experience (many times over the years). I only go when at the Kimmel for performances. Too bad! The kitchen needs some love!

   Fabulous restaurant. Great service in setting very quiet and easy to have conversation. Waiter service was great. Food was fabulous with very good selection. Price was very reasonable for quality of food. I highly recommend this restaurant.

   We were celebrating a special once-in-a-lfetime occasion and even though I had sent message to the restaurant in advance, there was no acknowledgement. This is a good place to grad a pre theater meal, but not much more. The dining room is noisy when full and made noisier by kitchen staff shouting orders. The noise died out once the theater crowd left, we were the only occupied table in the dining room. Our server, Hector, was pleasant, but the service was sub-par. From having to repeatedly request a menu to waiting for a long time to get our starters and meals, even though we were the only diners in the dining room halfway through our time there. The food was delivered in stages, so some of our food got cold while waiting for the others to get their meal. The cocktails are delicious but avoid the scallion pancakes, they are practically inedible. Rest of the meal was tasty, it should be for at the price.

   This was our 3rd dinner at Volver, and we had looked forward to another excellent meal. The service (Valentina) was excellent and our first courses, the Jerusalem artichoke salad and a delicious green salad) were excellent as well. We were, however, quite disappointed in the main courses. The chicken from the Portuguese menu, described as very spicey “periperi” was completely, bland, as was the chicken from the Asian options on the menu. A disappointment in a highly regarded venue.

    We went on a non-show day. It was very quiet and delightful. We went to enjoy a "chef's in residency" meal. The meal was delicious and providing a platform to highlight emerging chefs is a very cool concept. Kudos to chef Garces!

    We loved coming here for our anniversary. We were so excited to try the menu from the Chef in Residence, since we adore Mom Mom’s food. We were not disappointed! Incredible Polish food with a twist, and elevated without being stuffy

    Odd menu set up. Theater menu was not marked as a price fixed although our waitperson said it was and, in fact, was exactly the same price as the a la carte menu. The menu selections were very limited because they change chefs monthly and we had a Polish chef. Herring and stuffed cabbage would not ordinarily be my fist choices. But the food we ate was good—all of it.

    The food was tasty but the menu descriptions didn't align with what each dish actually was. Small plates/snacks were really small. Deviled eggs was one single egg and it was not devilled at all.

    The food was not great and drinks were slow to arrive. Had to send my steak back because it came burnt with black char all over it even though it was ordered medium and about a half inch thick. Even the server looked at it and agreed when I said “just by looking at this, I can tell you it’s over cooked without cutting into it”. Really disappointing.

    Y’all this place is baaaaad. I appreciate their attempt to bring new and unique cuisine but pairing a Portuguese menu with Polish dishes is just…not working out. The price point is fine dining but the service is “chain restaurant on a bad day” - total disappointment. We didn’t stay past the apps. Just got our check and headed elsewhere. Disappointing experience and would not “volver” if you paid us.

    Very nice pre-Orchestra dinner. Excellent service from Greg and a perfectly lovely meal - the little dinner rolls are just the best ever! - with chicken and fish for entrees. Both were very well presented and tasted wonderful. In and out without any worry about being late for the performance. A very pleasant dinner in an attractive restaurant - looking out on the street was delightful, as was seeing the kitchen at work. Terrific place.

    We were looking forward to a nice meal having read good reviews online. When we arrived we were immediately struck by how cold the restaurant was. When we spoke with our server asking politely if it was possible to turn off the a/c or raise the temperature, he told us there was nothing they could do as the temperature was centrally controlled. The manager also said that she ‘had been cold all day’. The correct response would have been to try to address the issue rather than telling customers there was nothing they could do. Eventually the chef can out and spoke with us. We explained the same issue to her and she told us she would try to address the issue. Eventually we were informed that they had tried to do something but we don’t know whether anything had been done or not. The food was good and tasty, although unremarkable. The wine was quite expensive for what it was - the cheapest bottle of red was $ 75. Overall the experience was ruined by the uncomfortable conditions in the restaurant and the lack of empathy from our server.

    This review is focused on the service. I was very disappointed in the service here- we dined at 8pm after the theater show started so it was not busy and yet we ordered one round of drinks and an appetizer and 45 minutes went by and the waiter never returned to take our order. I was really interested in trying Chef Tonii Hicks' food, but by that point we were so disappointed in the service that we wanted to take our business elsewhere. When there are only 4 tables seated and the rest of the restaurant is empty in a fine dining restaurant, you shouldn't have to get your waiter's attention to order things, they should be coming back to check on you on a regular basis.

    We enjoyed the artichoke salad to start which was excellent. My husband had the lamb chops that were served with black eye peas that were a bit harder than I might like. The rub used on the lamb was delicious and the grilling was perfect. The grilled bass was a lit soggy when it arrived served with peas, green beans, and asparagus in a cream sauce. The pudding desert was nice to finish but could have had more fruit. The service we received was very helpful, friendly, and prompt in response. We would return for another visit after the theater.

    Volver is always a culinary adventure, pairing it’s core Garces-influenced menu with an ever-revolving choice from the latest guest Chef de cuisine. The curated specialty cocktails are incredible and creative. But the absolute best feature of Volver is it’s incredible, attentive, best-in-City waitstaff.

    We were seated in the bar area by a window along the street. The restaurant was noticeably chilly. It took a while until the server came, but then the service was fine. The food was interesting, but not remarkable, and the entire experience somewhat disappointing.

    Food came out exceptionally fast, and it was beyond delicious, my eyes rolled so far back with each bite I could see my brain. The smooth operator cocktail had me delightfully tipsy. Overall a great experience and I can’t wait to come back!

    Had a great experience before seeing Gregory Porter perform. The drinks were well made and tasty. The food was perfect to order (temperature) and was very flavorful. I would absolutely return again. The staff were all friendly and engaging as well.
