We had our food delivered, but it took her 20 minutes to bring out a side of mayonnaise which was requested to come out with my wife’s chicken sandwich. By the time she received the mayonnaise, her food was cold and less enjoyable.

My server was very attentive and efficient with getting my food order and bringing my check. She was very friendly while waiting on me. I gave my overall rating 4 stars versus 5 stars because the ladies at the host stand were not friendly, did not great me, and the lady who seated me didn't even speak to me. The hosts were the weak link in my food and customer service experience at Vola's Dockside Grill.

                                                                                          My husband and I visit Vola's for the first time, it was AMAZING. It wasn't to crowed, the music was nice, food was great, and the service was awesome. Our server was Geovane O. He was the absolute best, from recommendations, know more about the restaurant, and just his personality. It was so peaceful and pleasant to have customer service like that. It's very rare nowadays, especially since COVID. Definitely a spot to visit.

Our server was new so a couple of bumps there but he was very apologetic and nothing was a huge issue. My only issue with this place is that if you can't get an outside table, and you have to eat inside, you better not be interested in having a conversation with your companions. The music is loud. Like club loud. Like shout at the hostess when checking in for your reservation. On a Sunday morning? So unnecessary. I would have gone elsewhere if the only available tables were inside.

                                                                                          Long time fan of Vola’s, but this meal was poor. Wait was lengthy too-over an hr. Hostess never contacted us about our reserved table. Staff were new and in training. But food was just a disappointment. Cajun Grouper was over-cooked and no spices/seasoning. Only 3 small shrimp were given. Not enough to save this meal. I’m afraid Covid cost them a cook and maybe some regulars, too.

Both the Shrimp Fettuccine and Shrimp and Grits were excellent, as were the Crab Hushpuppies that we shared as a starter. Our waitress, Eboni, was terrific. She was attentive in every way, from keeping our water glasses full to telling us that a draft beer would be slightly delayed in arrival because a new keg was being tapped.

                                                                                          Great spot in Old Town waterfront. Chose this based in Open Table reviews and menu we were looking for. High vibe place real close to the waterfront. We had fish dip app, signature green torpedo oysters and a lobster roll. All was prepared very well, I’m a Maine guy and was not disappointed with the seafood here. Old Town is a great place period, but I would definitely recommend Vola’s for a great casual meal.

                                                                                          Some restaurants are using “supply chain” news to raise prices precipitously. Not Vola’s. Lobster roll and soft shell crabs (yum) were pricey but not more than pre-pandemic. Service was excellent. And even the jets taking off from National did little to offset the wonder of eating next to the river.

                                                                                          I wasn’t expecting much when I initially booked the reservation, since I’d never heard anyone mention Vola’s. But boy, was I wrong. The seafood here is excellent—we had raw oysters, steamed spicy mussels, poke, crab cakes and steamed shrimp. All were super fresh and reasonably priced. Our waiter, K, was so friendly and helpful. He went out of his way to help us celebrate my dog’s 5th birthday. We also enjoyed a beautiful view of the water with our meal. Overall, a great experience!

                                                                                          We took or niece from Seattle out to dinner on her last night with us. We were seated right away. Our server made some recommendations as it was our first time dining there. All her recommendations sounded great. We ordered calamari and two types of oyster dishes. For drinks, my wife and niece had the Pain Killer. They said it was good. For the main course, my wife and niece had the swordfish, my daughter had the cheeseburger and I had the lobster roll. All were great except the lobster roll was served cold and was okay. It definitely wasn’t up to par with the lobster rolls served in Cape Cod. We finished our meal when we realized the one order of oyster wasn’t served. Our server apologized and offered to have the chef make them quickly. We were already done with our meal and so we declined the offer. The service was okay. We had to ask for water and it took awhile for my tea to arrive. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and had a great night.

                                                                                          I wouldn't recommend coming here on a weekend. It was ridiculously crowded (not COVID-safe at all), loud, relatively slow, and the food was super generic and overpriced. Outside seating might be better, but it definitely was not worth the price indoors.
