Volare Italian Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Understanding that it was a busy Valentine's day night we sat at our reserved table and waited 25 minutes for someone to wait on us. We got water right away but no server. They kept walking by like we were invisible. I finally asked another server for a wine list while we waited for someone to wait on us. The food was good but not great. As we left my wife and I agreed that we would not go back.
My girlfriend came in the weekend before Valentine's Day for us to celebrate and we decided to try something we hadn’t had before. I’m very glad Volare is what I went with. We had excellent service from a gentleman with thorough knowledge of the menu. She said it’s her new favorite evening dining option!
Consistently top tier experience! Chef Josh knocks it out of the park every time. Johnathan Tarullo makes the evening-so personal...you imagine you are the only diners. In actuality- the restaurant is packed....the team is just that good! You will not be disappointed!
Great food; mediocre (at best) service. In Volare's defense, my daughter and I were seated between a physician with his family who were buying high end wines and a table of eight very well known, high profile local business business people with their wives. Even though I did know and speak with folks at both tables, I guess our measly $100 tab didn't warrant the service we expected. While the manager did comp my drinks and gave us a desert to go, it did seem that he was all to familiar with apologizing for poor service.
This was our second dining experience at Volare and it was equal to the first. The food is excellent, the service was very good and we met the chef. We had a waiter the first time and a waitress the second, she was very good, but didn't seem as knowledgeable about the wine list or as informative about menue items. We savor restaurants of this class for special occasions and we are looking forward to enjoying Volare again in the future. We would be pleased to know of any special events or menue specials.
Dinner was fantastic! We had a birthday celebration for a friend on a Sunday night. The food was outstanding and the staff were spot on. This is now my favorite restaurant! All of us had something different - and everyone thought their food was amazing. I had the ricotta ravioli - it was fantastic!!! I can't praise this place enough. Can't wait to go back. Perfect place to go with a group of people or a romantic dinner for two.
We were at Volare to celebrate my wife's birthday. We found both the food and the service to be top notch. Our waiter Beau was attentive and provided excellent suggestions for both food and wine selections that would pair well together. We don't often dine out but will definitely choose Volare again in the future.
I had not been to Volare in years and my husband had never been. I made a reservation explaining it was a "special" occasion and I'd like to have a nice table for 2. We were seated in the small room next to the hostess stand in the middle of the room. We had a party of 10, a party of 6 and a 3rd party of 6 surrounding us, not even remotely a good table. even though the table was a 4-top, we were squeezed in and there were only the 2 chairs for us to sit in. There was no room for our coats, or my purse. There were 3 2-tops along the side of the room, all 3 occupied. The music was load, too load to talk over even though it was in another area. Once the music stopped we were almost able to carry on a conversation. It was extremely disappointing.
There were 4 of us dining, I'm gluten-free and vegetarian, the other 3 were none of those things. Volare actually has a special gluten-free and vegetarian menu if you ask for it. In any case, I had an amazing dish with veggies on GF pasta and an olive oil based "sauce". Two of the other diners had the fish and one had the soup of the day. Everyone loved their food!
The last few times we have been to restaurant servers not on their A-game. We sat at table 15 minutes before waitress took our drink order. No one stopped by to see if we needed anything. Once server appeared service got somewhat better. I know restaurant was busy but no excuse for that kind of wait.
One of the better Italian restaurants in the Louisville area, but its slightly pretentious atmosphere (and corresponding prices) betray what it really serves: fairly solid – if unimaginative — renderings of standard dishes. The chicken-or-veal marsala or limone, salads and pastas are fine, if a little overzealously seasoned. All-in-all a pleasant experience if not a particularly memorable one.
First time diners at Volare. Wait staff and manager were very attentive. Food was excellent and plentiful. Was very quiet, it being a Monday. Planning on going back again to try their other delicious looking dishes. Hope to make this our "go to" place from now on.
Everything about the Volare experience is always amazing. The service is consistently top notch. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful. And the food is outstanding. I forgo experiencing so many of Louisville’s restaurants because i keep coming back here when i get a night out. And i don’t regret it at all.
I have been to Volare and thought NewYears would be a perfect place to gather with 8 friends.first of all the tables were jammed in the back room so to make it uncomfortable to maneuver around . Our waitress was surly and abrupt with all of us ... we are a pretty easy group. You could tell she did not wish to be here. She snapped at one of our group when he asked for some water the thirs time . " get this man water immediately " the rolls were hard and tasteless the server said we use different rolls for holidays . Out food was tepid when served. So surprised with this as this has not been the case previously . Valet service and hostesses were outstanding . Seems our server in the back room was not up to your standards.
As always, Volare was excellent. One of my favorite spots. Almost all of our dishes were fantastic. My entree, the sea bass special, left me wanting for more flavor. Don't get me wrong, it was still very good; just not as excellent as I have come to expect at Volare. Everything else was perfect. The specialty cocktails are always excellent as well and the serve is bar none. Always happy with Volare!
