Had three courses: mussel appetizer was very good. Main course pasta and special entrees were both okay, though the sea bass was better than the pasta. Chocolate cake and cheesecake desserts were okay. The value was not great - though the ambiance was good. Management was making laps through the dining room but only checking in with the same few tables on the quality of their meal. Overall wouldn’t go back.
Excellent service, one of the guests order ribeye and was great but I order the pasta with shrimp and was a lot to be desired. I get better pasta at olive garden.
Wonderful meal. Delicious food. The only hiccup was that we requested potatoes since the polenta came with bacon. We told her we did not eat pork. The meal came was beautiful. The kale also was cooked with bacon which she did not tell us. A small item. The evening was perfect.
This restaurant was recommended by our Uber driver Harry who worked in high end restaurant business for years and was now semiretired. The restaurant manager Johnathan took extremely good care of us and our service was outstanding. The food was exceptional and the master chef, Josh Moore, is noted for his award winning Sea Urchin ice cream on Chopped. He is also known for catching his own fish around the world and had I known that at the time I would have ordered the fish. This place was truly the highlight of our trip and I highly recommend trying it if you are here for a visit.
Food was great. Ceiling tiles need to be cleaned/replaced
We try to go here whenever we are in Louisville. Our meal this week, was one of the best we ever had here. I don’t know what these folks can improve! Great atmosphere, great service, and the food is as good as any fine Italian restaurant anywhere!
First night in Louisville on vacation. Volare looked appealing and we thoroughly enjoyed food and ambiance in fact made a connection with a local person who shared great suggestions for places to go and things to do in Loiuseville.
The sea bass was fabulous!
Volare never disappoints! We go there every year to celebrate our anniversary and a birthday, and it's always top class! Great service and great food. The bourbon glaze on top of the NY strip was amazing, as are the fresh vegetable sides from the chef's own garden. Atmosphere is always great with mood lighting and live jazz band at the bar. Couldn't recommend it more!
Although the restaurant was busy, Brandi did an excellent job of attending our needs. It was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The music was just right and the food was fabulous!
No surprise to us . It was the great meal we have come to expect at Volare . I want to steal that bruschetta recipe ! I could have dined on that and the tomato salad and been happy . The manager made a point of coming to our table and then Chef Josh came over later ! My only regret was not ordering pasta . The fish was great but my rule , that I broke , is to always order pasta in a high end Italian restaurant .
Found my new goto place. Johnathon was first class. Food and service was second to none. Not to mention the live music by Robbie.
We celebrated our 3rd Anniversary there and had a wonderful time. The food and services was great.
Overall, food was very good. I didn't like the charred Caesar salad, but server replaced it with a fresh one. Wine list was very extensive. Risotto was delicious. Not a lot of vegetarian options on the menu. Service was okay, could have been a little more attentive. We sat in the back room, so noise level was not too bad. Restroom was very nice (and I rarely praise a restaurant's restroom). Staff were friendly. Parking is a little challenging if you don't do valet. Overall, I would recommend Volare. Great Italian food.
Josh Moore is one of the best chefs in Louisville. You haven’t had an Italian meal in Louisville if you haven’t been here. Farm to table ingredients and some amazing seafood as well.
As always, a fantastic experience and delicious food!
Outstanding dishes and excellent friendly service. The Best of Louisville!
clean, wonderful flavors, great atmosphere, excellent wine. La dolce vita, no?
Food was superb. Service was exceptional.
We dined at Volare Italian Restaurant to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Gary was our server. Outstanding food aside, Gary made our dining experience and the event that much more special.
Thank you Gary & Team Volare,
Carl & Bonnie Matter
Really good service. The food was excellent. The bar tv was too loud. Overall we had a good time.
Delicious food and great service. There was also live music.
$39 for a Small portion of snapper was way overpriced and the flavor was mediocre at best. The wait staff was exceptional! However, like most restaurants, never order off the menu. The specials are never special.
Chef Josh and GM Jonathan provide an experience which is consistently excellent from a culinary standpoint, with hospitality that cannot be beaten in the Louisville restaurant scene.
The restaurant was lovely. The food was excellent. Our service was superb. It did get a tad bit noisy between people conversating and the band playing, but I would not allow that to hinder another visit. The T.V. at the bar was tacky. I dont understand why every place in the world needs a screen in the face of the public. But everything else was great
The food was wonderful The service was awesome The only complaint is instead of serving three scallops on your appetizer there should be four same for the shrimp cocktail instead of serving three you should serve for Overall though it was outstanding and I know will be back again and I would refer it to many friends as I always do
Singer was a bit too loud and not my taste. But some people seemed to enjoy her. Guitarist was great and good sound level. There are several dishes we plan to return and try. Highly recommend for nice dinner experience.
Food was great, music was just a little too loud. Good service and overall
Because of the live music on Wednesday evening and a boisterous crowd, it was very hard to hear at our table of four. And we were not adjacent to the bar area and music. Otherwise the evening was terrific.
Great food and service as always!!
Only bad thing was the hostess and waiter seemed to be trying to rush us. This was a business meeting over dinner so we had certain topics to cover. Overall it was great food and decent service.
We love, love, love this restaurant! It's my favorite upscale dining in town! Food is always excellent, service is lovely and we love that Chef Josh always comes to say hello. I had the special Kale Salad from Josh's garden and the special of lamb ragu ravioli. Yum! And the bartender makes a fabulous Woodford Reserve Old Fashioned. Perfect way to celebrate our anniversary this time, or just a lovely night out.
This was a birthday celebration. We have eaten at volare many times. Tonite the chichen picata was tough and the greens tough on my husbands tomahawk steak. Our server was Brandy and she was attentive and helpful. We met Joshua and were delighted to meet him since we had watched him on Chopped where he was a WINNER.
I love Volare as it is a dining experience .
Our main dishes were wonderful (sea bass, salmon). Our server was fantastic. Did not care for the apps but that is probably personal preference (bruschetta was slathered in a huge amount of goat cheese and only had one little red pepper on top, the beef app was raw which we didn't realize and very difficult to eat because it just all sticks on plate.) Our desserts were not good, tiramisu which didn't have much flavor, and the bourbon ice cream, also not flavorful. Would try others, though. Noisy inside because all of the tables are right next to each other.
We love dining at Volare and have always had a great experience, but Thursday night it seemed that everything was off.
The veal was over cooked, my pasta was extremely salty and our wait between appetizers and main meal was lengthy.
everything from the hostess greeting to the valet thanking us, we enjoyed the Volare experience.
Jeff took care of us. We had to wait a bit but Jeff and his staff was in constant touch. Great food and probably one of the best Tiramisu ever!
Exceptional service from the instant we stepped inside. Exceptional quality of food, as well as available variety. And the wine list is epic.
Excellent , will return when in area
