A great place for fine Italian dining in Louisville. From antipasti to dolci with an extensive wine and digestivo list...No. 1.
This was a birthday celebration. The dinner was lovely. The server was prompt, energetic, extremely pleasant and helpful with the menu and with our wine selections. The Martini was superb! Will definitely be back, especially for a celebratory dinner. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Everything was wonderfully prepared and presented. Service was outstanding .
Food was extremely salty. So salty i could not eat some of my food.
always a mainstay on Frankfort Ave for an amazing dinner/drinks with friends. service was attentive but not overbearing and the music was great on this night
Great Italian food.
Table was waiting for us upon arrival and service from Brandy was spot-on! I had veal on my mind this night and the Marsala was absolutely fantastic! A friend had spare ribs and he cleaned his plate. I had the special winter kale salad as a starter and really enjoyed that as well. Our table all enjoyed a bottle of Pino Grigio. Delightful atmosphere and the general manager stopped by every once and a while to insure we were doing well. Had a surprise dessert plate and even though I needed to walk an extra mile to balance the calories, the pumpkin cheesecake filled the last corner of my tummy! Thanks to GM Jonatan Tarullo, Chef Josh Moore and the entire staff for making our evening a delightful experience. You can ALWAYS count on Volare to make it great.
Service, food and ambiance - exceptional! I recommended the restaurant to someone today.
All was fine. Stick to the standards on the menu! You can’t go wrong.
We had a reservation and when we arrived the hostess told us the reservation before us were about to leave. As time passed, the table didn’t leave and the hostess and the manager intervened to make the situation right. It took a bit for another table to come open so the manager checked on us several times, made sure we had drinks and were comfortable. Once seated, the manager told the server to take extra special care of us, which he did. The food was excellent as was the service. The manager comped our bottle of wine as well as dessert since we were from out of town and there to celebrate a birthday. He was so apologetic about the wait and made it perfect.
Excellent service and food for our party of 7. Attention to detail by management is exceptional.
Wonderful food and a great place to go to celebrate our anniversary!
All of the food was wonderful, our family really enjoyed the experience
Jonathan Tarullo and Chef Josh always make
sure everything is perfect. Great food. Great service. Great restaurant. Highly recommend.
Wonderful as always!
THIS IS OUR GO TO RESTAURANT EVERY TIME WE VISIT LOUISVILLE!
Outstanding restaurant with awesome food and great service!
We very much enjoyed our first visit The food, service and ambiance of the restaurant made for a fabulous evening. The only thing I didn’t like is that the tables are so closely arranged it felt crowded and noisier than I prefer.
Our waiter was fabulous! Can’t remember his name but he was VERY tall. Tell him how much we enjoyed our experience.
Always a great experience !
From greeting to seating to excellent preparation and taste, ambiance, live music, just always a great experience!
Excellent food and service. Chef Josh came around to make sure the experience went well and sent dessert for the special occasion.
Chef Moore has his own farm and practices farm to table extremely well.
Excellent food both in its beginnings on the farm and its preparation.
A pleasant surprise good value very good service
What a find! My friend and I have a goal to run a half-marathon in every state. Kentucky was number 16 and each time we try to find hidden gems and delicious food in general. We had heard "eat at Jack Fry's" from a couple of people and we did. It was good, but let me tell you that Volare is the place we would go back to in a heartbeat!! Everything was delicious from the wine to the fresh made pasta. Bonus that they had a separate vegetarian menu for my friend. In addition the atmosphere was amazing. A wonderful live musician named Napoleon was just the perfect addition singing old favorites like "My Girl". If we had spent one more night in town we would have went back to recreate the whole experience. If you have just one night and want a gourmet dinner to remember this is the place you want to go!
Excellent Italian food with several interesting choices. Look forward to going back next trip to Louisville. Chef came out and greeted tables. Served us his sea urchin ice cream which was excellent. Really nice atmosphere. Had great band in other dining room .
It was a great anniversary celebration for my wife and I. I was amazed at the waitresses memory of the entire menu and specials! The general manager helped to seat us and checked on us during our wonderful meal.
Food was exceptional. Service was top notch.
One of the best dining experiences in Louisville. There were 5 for dinner. I had asked for a quiet location. So we were seated in the back section. This was perfect.
Monny was as extremely competent waiter. He was well versed in the menu selections and was able to answer all questions.
The food was terrific. Everyone in our party loved our selections.
Highly recommend. Will definitely be back.
Fantastic dinner. Half price wine on Wednesday nights made it even better! Service was spectacular as was the food. Enjoy!
My fav restaurant in town! Always great food and service. Love that chef Josh comes and vs.
Our party of four had an excellent experience at Volare. We were celebrating a birthday for one of us and everything about our meal was celebratory! We all pronounced our meal to be "perfect" and the special dessert provided by Chef Josh topped it all off. We had an exceptional server, Kate, who knew the menu very well and took good care of us. Our busser was particularly good, but we are a bit biased in that direction. Our meal choices were varied: veal, duck, and pasta. Each was prepared and plated beautifully and were delicious. All in all, a delightful visit to a favorite restaurant.
Best Italian I’ve had in a while.
Our favorite place to eat!
Great birthday dinner. Best restaurant in Louisville
The atmosphere was significantly better than the food. Service was fair. Food was average at best. Didn't expect this place to be on the level of Michelin restaurants, but it should strive to be better than diner food.
We go to Volare every year for our anniversary and it is always an amazing experience. Service and food are top notch.
Great food, great service and atmosphere. We were able to linger and take our time without being rushed. Love it!
Volare is my favorite restaurant in town. Always.. good food and service.
As amazing on Monday’s as it is on the weekend!
My wife and I decided to try Volare this evening. We guessed Chef Josh might take Monday’s off but guess what? The food and service was still the best anywhere.
From apps to my favorite, the Pappardelle Pasta, to the Veal Marsala and Creme Brûlée, it couldn’t have been better.
For a 67 year old retired couple who have eaten everywhere, to consistently say this is the best Italian restaurant anywhere “anytime”, well you get the picture.
Chef Josh, training and the management is beyond compare. Thanks.
