Family visit from Cleveland Ohio
Still totally excellent food
Total yum factor out the roof
2 Moms with their daughters. We had a great table and a great waiter, Garry. Garry was fun, attentive and helpful!!
2 of us had the chopped Caesar Salad and 2!of us had mixed green salad with apples, red onion and pecans. Both were very good!
Our pasta dishes were terrific as well!
Great live music at bar too!!
First class Italian fare. Food and service were exceptional. Hidden gem neighborhood dining spot.
Our first time visiting and we had an excellent experience. Kate was very helpful and attentive to serve us and we have already recommended this to others.
The Caesar Salad was prepared in a most unique way and was excellent.
Can't wait to try other dishes.
Volare remains my favorite Louisville restaurant after 5 years living in area and trying others
Fabulous food and wait staff. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Great night with my daughter-in-law.
Service was great, ambiance was nice, but the food was just not impressive at all. The pasta dishes served at our table were all very chewy, over cooked, and the sauces were thin. I hate to leave a mediocre review but for such an expensive meal I’ll probably not return at my own expense.
Truly a great dining experience. Excellent food, excellent service in a wonderful atmosphere. One of Louisville’s top restaurants.
Outstanding service and great ambience in back room. Great presentation on the food but nothing spectacular about the taste.
Outstanding food and service. High quality menu, nice wine and cocktail selection. Prices can be a bit high if you’re not careful, but even then the food is worth it. Quickly becoming our go-to restaurant. Go get the 25% discounted gift cards at Costco and the experience is even better.
As always the food was delicious, the service was impeccable and the overall experience was dining at its best. One of the best restaurants in town; never disappoints!
Had wonderful time
Fantastic food and great service. Veal picatta wasn't on the menu but the chef was happy to accomodate our request. Really enjoyed the restaurant!
Great place. Close quarters a bit bit doable. Good people.
As always these guys deliver the goods!!!!!!! Great food, great service and great atmosphere. Looking forward to our next visit.
Excellent Manhattans. The seafood is always exquisite!!
We had a great time with everything. The atmosphere was good, food was great.
Volare was an excellent meal and wonderful service. We will be back
The food was well prepared and attractively presented, however the prices were higher than I expected.
Started with mussel appetizer that was amazing! I had the grouper special. The grouper was the best I’ve ever had. Volare never disappoints!!!
Everyone was so accommodating and friendly. We had an amazing time and the food & service was exceptional. So enjoyable. Thank you!!!!!
They offer free valet parking which is nice since there really is no where to park. When waiting for valet there is a heat lamp to keep you warm. My mother purchased a glass of white wine..10 dollar for about 4 oz which seemed high. We where also charged a 2 dollar split entrée fee for sharing a wedge salad which cost 9 dollars. To me there is enough profit margin in their food price and wine price not to charge 2 dollars so folks can share a salad which is to big for one person. Hey guys, not everyone wants to be a fat American.
This is our go to special occasion place :)
I cannot eat garlic so I generally avoid Italian restaurants but I really wanted to try Volare. The chef was able to prepare my meal so that I could still enjoy great Italian food without the garlic. He prepared a fantastic sea bass. The server was excellent and when she realized I could not eat the appetizer because it was cooked with garlic she returned with my own portion made without. Great service and excellent food!!
It was wonderful
The food is outstanding, and the service is excellent- my husband had the special yellowtail snapper, and I had the veal scallopine limone. We asked for, and were seated in, the back room, which is not always open. Back there, you can have a conversation - in the main room it can be difficult, with the amplified live music. The sound levels around the bar are painful...
I love this restaurant despite the fact that my experience has been hit and miss. This visit, my meal was delicious but we waited 45 minutes for it. The before that, I ordered duck, and it was over-cooked and tough. Our seating has been spotty - like having a party of 4 seated at a table better suited for 3, and having to ask to move so one of us didn’t seat in front of the steps. We’ve had awesome service and mediocre service. We have to make reservations at least a week in advance, so Volare is indeed a notable Louisville restaurant. I sure wish that would be true from one day to the next!
I think Volare is my favorite Louisville restaurant— and we go out a lot! The service is top notch and the food is delicious! I’ve never had a bad meal. My favorite is the sea bass and my husband loves the Osso Buco. Our friend had a NY strip that was to die for!
Because we were celebrating a birthday, this time we opted for a table but we often set at the bar for dinner. The bar is large and very comfortable. Also, bottles of wine are sometimes half price at the bar.
I can’t say enough about the wait staff. They don’t “hover” but are always attentive. Our meal has never been rushed even when the restaurant was full.
This is a lovely restaurant known for its high-quality food. However ... When we walked into the restaurant, we saw at least a dozen paper bags of food boxed up to go. We soon realized why--the food was so rich that we ate only half of both our pasta course and our entree. It was delicious, but I would have enjoyed the food more if it hadn't been quite so over-the-top rich. Judging from the number of to-go bags, many diners felt the same way. If you're looking for a light meal, this is not the place for you, but if you enjoy having leftovers, this is your place.
It was a delicious dinner. We did not have a great table for our anniversary though. We were put out on the heated porch. My husband had to hold the door for the wait staff or otherwise feel like it was going to hit him. We came to Volare because I had dined there a year ago on a girls’ trip to Louisville. I made reservations for our weekend getaway because I had had such a lovely experience before.
This place is excellent! The food was great and the service was quick. I ordered the vodka ravioli and it did not disappoint; my boyfriend ordered the lemon shrimp pasta and it was also excellent. We were even treated to a complementary desert for our anniversary. Would recommend to anyone looking for a romantic night out in Louisville
AMAZING night!! We went to dinner to reconnect with a friend we hadn’t seen in 20 years. Catching up with our dear friend, the wine, the food, the deserts, our server Garry and a visit to our table from Chef Josh... made our night unforgettable!!! THANK YOU Chef Josh and staff for another magnificent night!! Highly recommend Volare... BEST.RESTAURANT.EVER!!
P.s- Chef Josh Moore Food Network Chopped Champion (deadly catch episode) because he’s that Good!!
Birthday dinner with friends. Food was excellent, Gary is a great server. Josh came by which added a good feeling to whole experience.
Favorite Louisville restaurant.
Never disappointed. Food always perfect and delicious!
Service is wonderful. Atmosphere is relaxing. You can actually hear to have a conversation.
Chef Josh Moore always makes a stop by the table to check on your dinner.
I went to Volare one night during a work related convention and had a great time with one of my colleagues. We enjoyed the barrel aged beer and bourbon we ordered, and of course enjoyed the food. The duck paired very well with Volare's jalapeno jam in my opinion. That night they had a musician performing, which made it even more incredible (shout out to Robbie Bartlett!).
The chicken Marsala was amazing, however the pasta bolognese was not so great. The casa salad was wonderful and the service was excellent.
Fantastic food, service, and ambiance. I had the Chilean Sea Bass which is always excellent. GM John Tarullo does a great job at making everyone feel welcomed and comfortable. My go-to spot in Louisville
