This is a fun, buzzy room, offering creative but approachable cocktails along with a solid selection of spirits. Service during my visit was right in the sweet spot: always at hand when I needed something, but never hovering. That’s harder than it seems. Recommended.

Drinks were good, though presentation could be a bit better for the price. What really surprised me was the quality of the food - everything is absolutely delicious! Service was great as well, I just had one small complaint. I requested a table by a window in the reservation and this was not accommodated. For ‘exceptional’ service I would hope the restaurant would reserve one of those tables or notify us in advance that they cannot accommodate the request.

Went here with my boys to celebrate a bachelor party. They made sure our group was taken care of. They crafted some great cocktails for the man of the hour. They were super friendly and accommodating. They were amazing. I'll come back here when I come back to Chicago.

Cool vibe for a happy hour with friends. Servers take their time coming around (perhaps because they are understaffed) so be sure to let them know early on if you’re catching a show at the theater.

classy spot. went there before seeing a show and it was perfect. higher end seating and feel. kinda hidden on the 2nd floor of a hotel limited food but the flatiron steak and tuna tartar are great. attentive waiter bc we did say we had limited time. the biscuits & jam cocktail was superb

The atmosphere was great, a comforting vibe. Our group of three got seated right away. We each ordered a different cocktail. They were fabulous, very fresh and well balanced. We also ordered few appetizers and those were also very good. Perfect spot to start an evening out.

Really great place to spend a rainy cold Chicago afternoon. The place is quiet and cozy. The seating is just right and it's small without feeling cramped. I enjoyed the rose wine and nibbles. Our waiter was also very nice and kept checking on us to make sure we were ok. Can't wait to go back.

Service was really off. We’ve been a few times before and that wasn’t the case, so maybe an off night. One of the martinis came out with nothing in the glass. Weird. Still a great room and atmosphere, but it was just off during our visit.

Drinks totally overpriced and not special. The Old Fashioned is better almost anywhere else. Had luke warm chips with parmesan. The most awful thing we can remember. This really made our stomachs turn around. Service not friendly and kind of slow. Cheque finally was wrong but we paid and ran away.

The atmosphere and dacor is a bad try. Place was completely dead on a Thursday night. Highly overpriced, I had a cheese plate that was very expensive for three pieces of cheese. Wasn't the cool experience I was hoping for.

Perfect place for a nice special occasion, drinks only! They have various snacks, but the crab dip was ok. The staff was great and attentive. Ruben was awesome! We went on a Thursday night and loved that it was not loud. They are also great with paying attention to special requests on your reservation. I had asked for a specific seating location and they provided us with 3 seating options, one being the perfect option (which they had already saved the table to begin with). Will be back for another special occasion indeed!

The ambiance is lovely. The chairs can be closer to each other for a more intimate feel. The prices can be more reasonable. There are better cocktail places in the area with reasonable prices, but the ambiance is what sets this place apart.

Volume 39 executes flawless craft cocktails, period. Their Old Fashioned is the benchmark by which all others are measured. Their non-melting ice cubes defy thermodynamics. I work across the street. I sit in Vol 39, and give my employer a one finger salute, as I raise my glass to LIFE.
